An extra word is in the installation paths of the second two Version options in the TBF/TBM Avenger installer. "Microsoft" was mistakenly inserted ahead of Flight Simulator 9 (as is done in FSX, but not FS9). The first option, Avenger Package - Only, does have the correct path. For the second two options, just delete the second Microsoft so the path reads:C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9Of course, if yours is not a default installation, or you selected Version Option 1, this is all academic. This has already been corrected in the installers downloaded after 11:30AM today, June 12, 2008. The corrected DL zip is designated v1.1. The error will continue to …

I posted these on Sim-Outhouse, but what the heck. I loaded MAAM TBF into FSX. Usual FSX prop isssue, easy fix. Found that the TBF-Radios gauge causes "crash-to-desktop" whenever I tried to load the aircraft. I changed to other radios and TBF loads and flys fine in FSX.

This looks like the right place to post a possible problem with the TBM.I purchased it last night, and have had several flights. Great job.My problem surfaces when I attempt to load a second flight, or switch a/c and select the TBM. Whenever I do this, the TBM doesn't load and FS9 has a CTD.I've got a lot of experience with FS9 and have lots of other payware and freeware a/c, and I've done some testing to isolate this issue. My default flight is always a cold start. I was wondering if there might be a correlation with that.Anyways, once I reload the sim I have no problem loading the TBM. It's always the second flight that produces the CTD.Any suggestions? Should I cha…

Has anyone tried the FS9 version TBF in FSX yet? If so, how does it work? Will there be a FSX version or an update for FSX? Thanks, regards, Bob.

A 1MB patch is now available from the Avenger Free Stuff Pagehttp://www.maam.org/flightsim/enhance/tbm_enhance.htmThis small patch fixes a few errors and omissions in the v1 initial release, both download and CD-ROM. The patch includes:● Missing Landing Gear and Flap sounds● Sets neutral trim in the "TBM-3 #4 On Short-Final to the USS Langley" Start-up Flight, which had been mistakenly saved with catapult takeoff settings.● Deletes the Beta notation in all Kneeboard Checklist and Reference pages● Corrects an error in the installation instructions for the Splash ScreensBill RambowMAAM-SIM http://www.fssupport.com/maam/hgrsm_blkani.gif

I want to congratulate everyone at MAAM-sim on a job well done!I am a FS warbird junkie so I have alot of payware and freeware warbirds in my "hangar".This has to be the most detailed and realistic warbird released to date. What a joy she is to fly! It was well worth the wait. Thanks for all your hard work and of dedication to the project and to the museum.I can't wait for the P-61!!!!!!!!P.S. I have an unrelated question. What is the frequency to open the hangar doors in the MAAM scenery?I seem to recall there was one but can't seem to find it anywhere!!

Do you know when there will be a FSX version of this plane available? From what I've seen, it shouldn't take too long to convert the FS9 model to FSX so I'd hope in the next few days to a week, certainly not more than a couple weeks.I'm eagerly waiting for the FSX version because I'd rather not port the FS9 one over do to the issues it creates. It would really please all the other FSX users out there too ;)

Hi, some help needed here with this beauty =)1) I'm not able to hear any sound when I act on gear or flaps. I have the default sound volume configuration.2) I have cockpit tooltips on the VC, but none in the 2D cockpit. Is this the way it has to work?Thx in advance for any help.RegardsRosario Manzo, IT

No fancy anims like that on the ol' BT, Willem. Not that difficult to add but it's still very much Turkey time at the Maam-Sim hangar, besides the fact that there's actually a LOT to upgrade on the B-25 model, isn't there. We really need to keep that for FSX/FSXI so you'll have to use the "/" to simulate hydraulic pressure loss still for some time to come. We *do* have a LOT of fancy anims on our new Avenger model and it sure is a great flyer too ! :-cool Groeten,Jan

I've downloaded the FSX update zip file, and for some reason my AV software (ZoneAlarm Pro) keeps telling me there's a virus in it - something like "not-a-virus:Adware.Win32.EShoper.j." The AV program gives me the option to repair, but it fails. Has anyone else experience this? Is my AV out to lunch? I'd really like to experience this beautiful plane in FSX, especially the great skins. Thanks,Craig

WWII Weekend, June 6-7-8, will be the release date for the Avenger package, come #### or high water (both of which we have had at recent shows!)We introduced the TBM demonstration model at last year's show. But there was obviously a looooong way to go - even longer than even we thought. In the meantime as you have seen, we have added two more models to the package. In addition to the museum's TBM-3, we now have the TBF-1 and TBF-1C, all with torpedoes you can drop, guns you can fire, and scads of other special effects. Edit: Jan has pointed out that my Turkey count is off by two. We will also have the British Tarpon I and Tarpon II which have different observation win…

Hi, I'm flying an IVAO historical tour from the spanish division, celebrating the 80 years of Iberia, and it has to be flown with the DC3. I haven't been able to find an old Iberia livery for the MAAM-SIM model (just for the default fs9 model), does anyone know where could I find it?Thanks in advanceRosario Manzo, IT

Hi folks,In relation to some posts i've read about our DC-3/C-47 model having transparency problems in FSX/Acceleration ( spinning props and VC glass ) here's a quick fix for you to download and install : http://fssupport.com/maam/dc3_fsxacfix.zipJust unzip/overwrite the enclosed files in the texture folder of any of your Maam-Sim Dakotas that you fly in FSX/Acceleration and you'll have your glass back in the VC and normal transparent spinning props.Mind you, as our stuff is still FS9 ported over not all transparency problems are gone. Glass on the exterior model will disappear f.i. when you taxi along trees, fences, or any other scenery stuff that has an alpha channel ap…

Several months ago I ported the MAAM B25 and the DC3 for my fs9 simulator into my FSX. I had problems with solid spinning props and also was not able to see through the cockpit windshield. With the help from these forums, I finally managed to get everything resolved. Now I've installed FSX on a new, faster computer I just built and I'm trying to get these two aircraft working again. First, I've copied these two aircraft folders from FSX on the older computer to my new system. Next, I installed the FSX update files from the MAAM web site. When I try to fly these two aircraft I have the same original problem with the solid props and the cockpit visibility. I would greatly app…

What a beautiful aircraft !!! I simply love the R4D/DC-3...finally, I can fly an aircraft that's almost as old as me !!!Is it possible to assign key commands to the various switches on the panels? I am really considering mocking up a cockpit, but I need to control the panel with keystrokes, and not mouse clicks. Can this be done, and if not, is there an alternative?Thank you very much..Jim

I have installed the MAAM DC3 in FSX and applied the replacement textures for the transparency problems introduced by SP2. However, I find the propeller shafts (only) are still transparent, i.e. invisible. Is there a fix for this?

FriendsMany of you - particularly those who have been involved with our Beta Team over the years - would know Tim Westnutt. I very much regret to advise that Tim passed away this week, at the very early age of 54. Tim was vibrant, energetic and never let a day pass without filling it. He was the envy of many of us. Threads here refer:Edit: Thread moved here: http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...&topic_id=35263Again, I hate to bring bad news, but I am sure you join me in wishing Tim's friends and family - and particularly his lovely girlfriend, Brenda - sincerest condolences on his passing.MarkMark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, M…

Well, sure I am a "newbie" of those old ladies, even if I practice FS since 1993. Thanks to a friend of mine, a captain who flew a real DC3 in Florida, I fell in love with your models. So, some times ago I purchased the DC3, and yesterday the B25... today I am already looking forward for another jewel from MAAM-SIM, I've found myself looking for hours at all those wonderful model details and the way they fly is ex-cel-lent!!!May I hope to see in the next future another great product? I've red something about the BTM.Anyway, thanks in advance, and keep on working this way guys!Rosario Manzo, ITP.S. sorry, perhaps bad english above! =(

Have bought the CD, 9th edition for the R4D/DC3 for FS2004 and installed it in FS9, and everything works great. However I was wondering if it's possible to remove the yoke when in VC mode, as it tends to hide NAV1 and ADF instruments. Have tried both normal model and med VC model but both have the yoke showing when in VC mode. Many thanks Ted Holmes
