HELP! Am trying to install R4D and Briefing Time into FSX and ran into a brick wall! I have the FSX Update, which I am following step by step. I changed the installation directory to FSX as directed in Step 3. The installation process began.....then I got an error message which states 'Destination Folder does not exist', with a query asking if one should be created? Clicking 'No' cancelled the installation. So I re-started the installation, this time clicking on 'Yes'. The installation proceded creating a folder with the exact same title as the default folder, '.........Microsoft Games\ Microsoft Flight Simulator X', where I was trying to install it in the first place!Any…

Some time back I installed MAAM DC3 on FSX and ran the update to convert it to FSX and everything was fine.I used the DC3 for several months without a problem, then just today, I installed the MAAM B25 "Briefing Time" in FSX ran the update, and tried the B25 out - It was fine . I didn't try the DC3 immediately afterwards. I exited FSX , then an hour or so later started FSX and selected the MAAM DC3, and to my horror when the Virtual/2D cockpit appeared all the gauges were missing :( (except for the Sperry Autopilot gauges ) and I had not done anything (install or otherwise) further to FSX since I installed the B25. So it Looks as if the B25 install has affected the DC3…

I flew the B25J in FS 2004. Now, in FSX, everthing works great except I get a CTR-X Fuel Low message. The fuel gauges never come off the Full marks. I read the docs which said there is not fuel tank selctor on the B25J. I've read the B25 posts and it seems like I may be the only one with this problem. I've reloaded from the MAAM CD and run the FSX conversion patch twice. Any ideas? Thanks Jim Popswilson

I have the instrctions for the DC-3 package for FS9. In there is says that to lower the view (be able to see over the nose) you raise the seat position by hitting shift + enter. This does not seem to work for me in FSX version. Is this a problem in the FSX version or am I juat having a local problem with my installation?None of the Microsoft methods for this problem seem to work either. I can pan down with to the FSX aircraft, the Cub for example, but this doesn't seem to work on the R4D. If there is a new method in the FSX DC-3 version I would like to know what it is? Or is there no solution at all? Appreciate any help you can give me.Bob

:( Is there any general time frame (summer, fall, this year, next year, etc.) for the release of native FSX products? If they are on the way, are they being built to work under FSX-SP2? Thanks.Charlie - KSBP

Check out the Press Announcement about WWII Weekend, and the other news articles I have posted on the WW2WE front page ... http://www.maam.org/maamwwii.html It's going to be a really memorable show! I'm especially looking forward to having two Doolittle Raiders, including Dick Cole, Jimmy's co-pilot, fly our B-25. I have a flight set up for them featuring Chuck Lawsen's "Ruptured Duck" repaint ready for takeoff aboard the USS Hornet of the Virtual Navy's Task Force 16 scenery. Should make a great photo op!You can download both the skin and TF-16 scenery from our Free Stuff Pages and try it yourself. You can also grab the FS9 FLT and WX files I created for them at …

Hi, I just purchased your fantastic Avenger, but Active Camera seems to turn off whenever I use it... It turns back on whenever I switch to a different aircraft, but it just won't work with the Avenger. Is anybody else experiencing this, and is there a fix somewhere? It's only the "internal VC view" that doesn't work, even if I disable and re-enable it it won't turn on. AC's "Flyby view" feature works fine. But it's the AC "head latency" that I really miss, it sort of gives you a better "feel of the pants"... :(Oh and it's abso-freaking-lutely marvelous except for this issue! I'll recommend it to anybody!

Sir,Today I purchased the download version of the MAAM DC3, it installed fine into FS2004. I then downloaded your r4dFSXu1.zip file to convert it to FSX compatability. I followed the readme instructions to the letter (I'm not a newbie btw). When I tried to run te r4dFSXu1.exe file, nothing happened. In fact when I scanned the file my virus checker reports spyware, notably W32/Eshoper.BI am running FSX on Vista 64 with admin rights, the sim is e:\FSX as opposed to the usual. Could this be why the patch does not work? I have tried running the exe from within its zip, expanded outside its zip both from ddesktop and within FSX and it doesn't want to run. I hhave also d…

I enjoyed BT in FS8 and FS9, but went exclusively FSX when it was released. This morning I checked in on the MAAM-SIM support forum to see if anything had been done for FSX. When I saw Hartwig's updates I was eager to fly Briefing Time once again. As I have FSX on C drive and FS9 on E drive I modified the installation path on the FS2002 installer so that it would install to FS9. (the plan was to install BT to both FS9 and FSX) Two attemps to install to FS9 with the installer resulted in my pc locking up and I had to power it off (task mgr would not even come up). The third try produced an error message that said the BT exe was "not a valid Windows 32 program".Since this i…

I recently had some computer problems that required that I remove Flight Sim 9 and all int's installed aircraft. I've reloaded FS 9 and some downloads and everything works just fine. When I tried to reinstall the MAAM Sim DC-3 I got as far as the menu where yu make a choice to install the FS 2009 or 2008 versions and clicked the 2009 version. Absolutely nothing happened. I waited and waited but no installation.I can install the manuals. Am I going to have to order another disc?Any suggestions are welcome and appreciated.

I notice that there is no NAV/GPS switch in the default DC-3 panel. I would like to use the GPS to control the lateral navigation of the aircraft. Is there something I am overlooking or is the absence of the switch on purpose to force manual piloting. I believe I saw a NAV/GPS switch on some of the replacement panels but they can't be used in FSX. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I run FSX on Vista 64. I do like to use the DX-10 preview. I get good frame rates, etc. I know that FS-9 aircraft textures can be imported to FSX, which I have done for both the MAAM DC-3 and Briefing Time and I also know that those textures will not work wiith DX-10, the fuselage of both aircraft are a real bright white. I can deal with the "white" aircraft, but I was wondering since the FSX defalut DC-3 textures work in DX-10, if there was any way to use the defalut FSX DC-3 fuselage textures for the MAAM DC-3 fuselage textures, just so I don't have a "white" plane. If not, I can live with it and looking forward the the FSX versions of MAAM and Briefing Time. …

I have been using the DC3/C-47 since FS2002 and have been waiting for a repaint in RCAF colours, I have tried to do this myself but I am no good at it. If there is anyone out there that is good at repainting I would like to have an RCAF/CF version to fly. Canada used these aircraft for quite sometime in Search and rescue and also for experimental duties. We called them the Dakota or "DAK". Attached are some pictures of different paint schemes.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/194794.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/194795.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/194796.jpg
