Hi,Is there any way to disable the co-pilot's voice in the R4D's and DC-3's ? There's nothing wrong with the voice used; it's just that I like to use FDC Live Cockpit, and I'm afraid there would be a conflict? Thanks

Hi First off I have to congratulate you on a superb product. This is easily the top virtual warbird currently available in FSX, even beats the new Shockwave FSX B-17! The disk is great value for money with all of the extras and I am having great fun flying BT over the UK VFR scenery.Pretty much everything worked straight off for me and I even managed to get all the other skins available to show up in FSX. One thing that has never worked though is the view from the upper turret and the waist guns. The waist guns I cannot get to at all and, although I can crawl to the upper turret using the various CTRL/SHIFT/RETURN/BACKSPACE key combos, when I get there the turret textures…

Hi everybody:I installed the 4th edition CD to FS2004. All went OK. I then downloaded OY-BPB and tried to install it. I got an error message telling me to check the "readme_first" doc. It said I have to have a full version of the DC3/R4D installed. I do. Any suggestions?ThanksAlan Lansitie

Advanced notice for the loyal troops of the Support Forum:The FSX Basic Compatibility Update for 'Briefing Time' is now available on the MAAM-SIM Free Stuff Page. I'll be putting it up on the library tomorrow. As with the R4D patch, released earlier, this update primarily addresses changes in the panel configurations and gauges, as well as providing thumbnail pictures for the Select Aircraft Menu in FSX. For those who haven't tried it, KRDG - as supplied on the MAAM-SIM CD for FS2004 and available also from Avsim.com - seems to blend in nicely with FSX. Give it a go, and report here if you find any issues, if you would. Hangar doors work as they should. I haven't personally tried every combination of lighting and weather, nor done a full analysis of AI etc., but at least it shows up and gives you somewhere to park your extensive MAAM-SIM fleet! You do have an extensive MAAM-SIM fleet, right? :)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/168899.jpgAerial viewhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/168898.jpgWet day at Spaatzhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/168897.jpgDropping in at t…

I have reinstalled the maam dc3 and I get and error message:Flight Simulator was unable to load some aircraft or software. You can continue using Flight Simulator but this aircraft or software will be disabled File: Gauges/maam_r4d.gauI have used this product before with no problems. In addition I now receive the fsound.dll error messageThis may have been discussed before but, this product has been out for awhile I am not sure how deep I would have to search the forums for the fix.

  12. It's finally finished and up, folks. It was a long, painful process, especially for Fred and Howard, but the FSX Update #1 is finally ready for download.:-jumpy :-jumpy :-jumpy :-jumpy :-jumpy :-jumpy :-jumpyThe patch addresses the most basic compatibility issues posed by the changes in FSX, which are many. Much more remains to be done before we will feel like we have a full-blown FSX version, and it's going to take a lot of redesign. Right now, as you know, our priority is the TBM, so we have set aside cosmetic issues and the flight model changes for later updates. Despite this, you'll find the old girls look pretty wonderful and fly well in the new sim.Our sincere th…

Hello everybody,After two weeks of tedious reinstallation of my complete PC (Windows, updates, flightsim, addon's, ...)I have reinstalled the MAAM DC3.However, since the reinstallation there are a bunch of problems I can't get solved, not even by reading the manual.- first of all, I thought that the installationroutine created an entry in the 'software' section of the configurationscreen of WinXP.Not so in my setup... I have tried several installations (by removing manually all files) but I had no succes sofar. I can get no info on this by reading the manual it seems...- Secondly, there is no way I can get the airplane to start. I have read the manual concerning startup a…

Hi everyone,I'm working on a plan to fly my M.A.A.M.-SIM DC-3 (cargo version) around the world (twice) in the 1939 era. I want to use only the equipment and navigational techniques available at that time. So any responses to the following questions will be appreciated:1) I plan to use -- pilotage and dead reckoning, ADF with NDBs, charts showing NDBs, rotatable compass card, driftmeter, bubble sextant, Sperry auto-pilot, E6-B disk, slide rule, ATC (but only at airports), and the usual chart tools (plotters, parallel rulers, dividers). Is there anything on that list that wasn't available in my era? Is there anything that was avaialble, and might be useful, that I haven't …

1-I received my CD and installed. My dual- monitors programs some reasons effected. I am not sure, if DC-3 installation effected the monitors program, or I caused the problem. I want to un-install and re-install the DC-3 program. I deleted the DC-3 file from C: drive ,still program in the FS9 airplanes section. I checked control panel Add/Remove programs panel, there are no DC-3-program listed.I know it is a simple issue but I am stuck . Where is the file and how can I remove it ? .2- During quick fly with DC-3,there are three things come to my attention: a- When I engaged the AP, DC-3 turns doesn't look realistic, plane just slides toward to direction of turn, instea…

This is a question I wanted to have put since long ago. Today, during another flight, I used a post-it in order not to forget about it.The question has to see with the switch on the left of the main panel, where are located the DME indicators. What is the use of this switch? It is by default in the VOR DME position. The two other positions, which have associated lamps, are RNAV and APPR. I do not understand what RNAV in this aircraft may mean. As for APPR, it seems to have no effect in following the ILS. Is there any use for this switch?I hope someone will clarify this.Regards,Domingos

As soon as I pick the R4D or DC-3 from the aircraft list in FS9 and click OK, I get an error that GAUGESMAAM_R4D.gau could not be loaded. I can't click the message away (or rather, it comes back directly) so I have to kill FS9.exe. When I use Explorer to see if the gauge is there, it's no problem. I've also checked the FS9.cfg file to see if FSSound.dll is loaded (it is). So now I'm at a loss as to what's going on. Has anyone else had the same problem and solved it? Preferably without re-installing FS9 - that would take several days I'm afraid.Thank you!Gert

I have just received the MAAM-SIM DC3/C-47 add-on disc and installed it as instructed to FS2004. FS starts up OK but when I select any variation of the aircraft FS2004 crashes. During installation it told me it would be overwriting a file. Has anyone experienced similar issues?

Hi all, Just wanted to share with you the experience of the latest add on to my flightsim setup: The Eyecessories 3D glasses!Take a look at http://www.avsim.com/pages/0107/3D/3D.htm for a review. The important part is that if you have a Nvidia graphics card this is relatively inexpensive addition that will tranform your FS experience in genaral and your favourite DC-3/BT experience in particular: I have now the real feel of sitting in a cockpit, something that can not be descibed with justice. It is almost unreal after so many years staring at a flat screen. Now I have to focus my eyes when I move my eyes from the panel to the ground. Especially landings are a whole new ex…
