Hi Damian,just downloaded v1.7 and inststalled...but I miss the "cycle23z.wxd" and all associated (.met, .taf and .wmo). Any chance to have a copy of these files, please. On my home computer I don't have an Interent access so I need to have a copy of the original cycle files. Thank you.Enrico.

How is it possible to use Activesky to look at what the worldwide winds aloft are doing before I get airborne? If I make a list of all the winds aloft stations I expect to fly over, would it be possible to use the wxBriefing (or anything else) to find out wether I'll have a head wind or not?On long flights, this is crucial for fuel planning of course!Thanks,Tom

I keep having trouble and have not been able to find the answer. Alot of time I am vectored by ATC to a certain runway. As I approach they tell me I am on final for the wrong runway. How do I get this to stop. I have used destination force and this hasnt always worked. Since I've purchased ActiveSky v1.6 (Friday), I have experienced several FS crashes (Send error report). I had only had one such crash in the past 5 years with FS98, FS2000, and/or FS2002. Each time it is a different module. Just now, FS crashed as I approached Gate C-21 at KIAH after completing a flight from KMFE. Previously, I had attempted the flight and FS crashed when I selected Flight Plan from the FS Menu. I have figured out that it crashes if I start FS, position myself at the departure airport, start ActiveSky, then try to load my FS flight plan. I use Radar Contact with FS ATC in the VFR mode. Hi Damian:I am using active sky 1.7 beta, and when the active sky flightwatch starts to "speak", a few words get out and then the whole system freezes up. This has happened with the 1.7 beta as well as 1.6. The only lockups I get occur when the flightwatch voice begins to give METARS for airports I am flying over. I have tried numerous video drivers, but still no luck. I am also running the most current version of FSUIPC. Thanks in advance ........Joe

Thanks for sending out this beta to all users.I didn't see any particular place to send reports so I am posting here. I d/led the c2 file and installed over wxRE 1.0. System isWin XP and 56K dial up using wideFS over TCP/IP to the FS2k2host (FSUIPC 2.975).Started wxRE with FS off. Went to offline and downloaded cycle09Z files. Appeared to be OK. Set cycle09Z for offline and went refresh. Got error message "Winds Get Request -- Problem reading offline wx files --please check files or redownload". METAR and TAF for DGAA good and also for force destination (PHKO) no winds aloft. Waited. Downloaded cycle10Z. Same result. Started flight sim and postioned at PHNL. …

I was doing a trip over the north atlantic and the winds aloft data updates showing winds at 0/0/-49 which is fine but it does not update in Flight Sim. Winds did not change from the 030 @ 74 kts. Is there a setting I am missing that prevents it from being updated. I am using all the settings that should be used for Wxre in FSUIPC and Active Sky Wxre. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I would like to try V1.7.If I zip the ActiveSky directory, and encounter problems with V1.7, will replacement of these files allow me to return to version 1.6?I see the download link for v1.6 is no longer active.

HiI've been comparing FS Meteo and WX RE V1.6 a lot of late. Both pieces of software promise real world winds aloft but they don't provide the same winds for the same place at the same time, which leads me to question which is actually correct.Also, I'm not sure whether aloft temperatures are real world or whether they are just simulated as I continuously get very suspect temperatures, compared to what I should be getting according to wind/temperature aloft charts, in some cases as much as 15 degrees cooler.Anyone care to comment?

I am having a problem with winds aloft since I have upgraded to 1.6. But my problem seems to be different than those already discussd in this forum.METARs for my present location load fine, but Winds Aloft do not correspond. Specifically, when parked at KHOU (Houston's Hobby Airport), I receive the METAR from the "Active Wx Station KHOU / 1 nm", but Winds Aloft show a "WMO ID" despite HOU being a winds aloft station (known from previous version). Hi, I purchased fs FlightMax recently, mostly for the weather radar. i soon foundout that you have to fiddle with FlightMax to have it working with activskyWx. However, I have the freeware version of activesky (1.5)and there is no option to export wx to fs flightmax. So fsflightmax weather radar does not work. can someone tell me how i can get activesky v1.5 working with fsflightmax (if u can get it working at all). thanks for any helprmaan:)

I can not get ActiveSky wxRE 1.6 to stop downloading. It has been attempting to download for over an hour but just keeps timing out. I can get Custom / Force to read the station but the Active Wx Station keeps looping. I can never get into options to see if there is a setting off. I have not had this problem in the past.Stephen Morose

"ActiveSky vs Real Weather....PERFORMANCE!" Fellow simmers,As a user of ActiveSky WxRE and of the latest version 1.6 (coupled with SkyWorld for clouds), I find that my flights "stutter" more frequently than when I use MS Real Weather and Sky World Clouds. Do any of you experience this? I have a brand new Dell 2.8 gig with all the goodies for smooth flight.I noticed the difference yesterday. All my sliders are maxed and am using 9700 ATI Radeon board. I also enable Anti Aliasing, etc.I look forward to your responses on this.Stan

I am currently flying at FL390 (39,000ft) The winds aloft according to version 1.6 say the winds are from 250 degrees between 130-152kts from FL's 340-390. I am getting winds from 220 degrees at 49kts. I checked the status on the Activesky program and it said that the FS altitude is 11877? If that is in meters, it's above where I am at and if it is in feet, well then it is really off. I am using version 2.975 of FSUIPC and yes, I am reading the winds aloft data correctly. What is going on? The winds have stayed the same on multiple updates from different stations with just slight changes in speed? I have my FSUIPC set up according to the manual and rechecked it as well?

Hi john, now it's arrived the last version of active sky and we can say that probably this is the best weather generator...i have only a little "critique" for you:i'm an italian user and i can't appreciate flightwatch totally, so i hoped to find in 1.6 a module gauge (in fsmeteo weather display style) to observe weather condition...but it's so ok.(sorry for my english)thank you very much, john!

Hi!Is there a fix for this? I saw only one more post about this prob. "Mats sas526" report the same. We are both from Sweden and I suppose both using Swedish language versions of Windows. Don't know if that has something to do with.
