Hi DamianI purchased the first version in December of last year but have subsequently reloaded my hard drive. I have the original email confirming my purchase. 2. Still getting aloft problems with latest version. Right now WMO station #72363 is reporting the following winds: at 36400ft winds are 275/69, at 39000ft winds are 275/75. What FS is showing is 202/46 at FL370. Just like all the other versions, winds 70-90 degrees off and winds 30kts+ off. Every version is the same way. Ground winds are accurate but aloft winds are all messed up.

I am now getting a message"error or time out downloading cycle" usually when downloading winds. I have no trouble downloading aircraft etc from other sites. This has happened since I upgraded to the latest version of Activesky. Any help gratefully received to cure the problem.

HiDownloading is much better through to completion with 1.8.However, I have downloaded 3 times over the last 2 days and I keep getting strange wind conditions. My last flight from an airport in France the surface wind was 060/15 as soon as I reach around 3000 feet I almost loose control with wind changes at 135knots! Also, my onboard wind indicator - direction and speed, are different from the figures given with shift-Z.Please advise.ThanksBob

Hi guysI have just purchased ActiveSky wxRE, but the program keeps crashing FS2002.I have the recommended FSUIPC settings set, so can't really figure out what causes the crash. The error messages I get is "FS2002 hasencoutered a problem and need to close/restart."The problem always occurs while in-flight, and it is quite annoying.Anyone knows what causes the problem?Regards Michael

Hi,this is marginal, but I would be happy if it could be implemented in one of the next releases:The voices start whenever I tune one of the radios to 122.00 regardless whether or not the audio of that radio is turned off or on.I would really love to have the voice only when RX for that radio is on. I usually use Com1 for ATC, while I have Com2 tuned to ATIS. Then I switch RX from 1 to BOTH when I would like to hear weather information.Alex

I have a couple of problems with ActiveSky Flight Watch 122.0. Can these be corrected?-Sometimes Flight Watch gives the altimeter setting in QNH(?) instead of inches of mercury. These are for stations within the USA.--Flight Watch sometimes gives information that conflicts with the local ATIS/ASOS.I have also noticed that I am frequently given wrong runway assignments when taking off or landing VFR, resulting in a tailwind. This usually happens when winds are low. I don't recall this problem happening before I installed ActiveSkyWXThanks for any helpRay

Hello,Last night, while flying straight and level through big fluffy scattered clouds at FL140, and with ActiveSky wxRE enabled, I found my frame rate dropping dramatically to 4, sometimes 2 fps. If I changed my view to be straight down to the ground below (press the 5 key on the numeric keypad), my frame rate would jump to 15 to 24 fps.I appreciate this is NOT a problem due to ActiveSky. I'm just curious if others experience the same. It would seem that drawing big fluffy clouds, and making them move, and making them semi-transparent, etc, is quite taxing on the computer. Do you agree?Cheers,PeterPS: I have a 2 GHz PIV with 512 MB DDR RAM and Ti4400 GPU driving tw…

Okay, I think the new 1.6 version is pretty cool. Now it would be even cooler if I could figure out why I'm the only one reporting problems with the voice feature. Everytime I tune in 122.0 on my COM radio, the ActiveSky program stops responding.I'm using WinME, P3 850mhz, Geforce2MX 400, 386RAM, Mcaffee enabled, FSUIPC 2.972...and no other addons running at the same time as my FS2k2 and ActiveSky.I loaded up a Baron 58 (default) aircraft and tuned in 122.0 on my COM as shown here:http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3e7011962714d253.jpgHere's what my "Runtime Status" screen looks like at that point:http://ftp.avsim.com/dcforum/User_files/3e7011fb27c8c6d9.jpgNote: I w…

Sorry to post somewhat off-topic but this is the only other place that I know there are users of FSFlightMax.What's happened to the website for FSFlightMax and to the support forum? It says you need admin approval to view any of the boards and the website appears to be down or hacked or something.I've written to the email addy for support and am waiting to hear back from them. Any one else had any luck with this?Thanx in advance!Edited: Okay, sorry all. I read further on down the line and saw where this question has been answered. Not the answer I was looking for as it looks like I wasted $35. Guess that's the nature of gambling on small-time operations.

Hi Damian,I have a small problem with ActiveSky. I'm sat on the ground at LEMD, and the downloaded METAR reads:LEMD 271430Z 18005KT 100V250 CAVOK 21/06 Q1016However, in FS I have winds calm... the problem is that the surface wind layer that ActiveSky creates (correctly to be 180/05) is set to be between 0ft and 2000ft AMSL. Unfortunately LEMD is at 2000ft AMSL, and so the surface wind layer sits nicely below the ground level.I think the solution would be to store the ground level elevation of each reporting station, and to set the surface winds to be 2000ft AGL, rather than 2000ft AMSL. But I don't know how that then interacts with winds aloft, and how easy it is to do...…

Hello. I am having a problem with Activesky 1.7 with FS2002 and FSNAV regarding the wind conditions. Activesky is showing winds on the ground and aloft, but my FSNAV and cockpit indicators always show the wind at 1 or mostly 0 knots, even in the sky!! I have set up FSUIPC as the instructions in wxre stated and have even tweked them to not supress any winds. Is this problem a FSNAV (or FS2002 setting) issue or Activesky? One thing I noted was if i change a setting in FSUIPC (any setting, not just wind related) the wind reading on FSNAV will be, for example 260 at 5 knots. Then the wind speed will drop to 1 or 0 knots in a few seconds, even though Activesky is showing the wi…

Hey dudes! I am , for some strange reason, getting a runtime error when trying to startup ActiveSky. I have tried the 1.8 update file to see if this repairs it, but this does not appear to work. Any ideas? Will I have to install the initial version, basically starting from scratch? I hope not, as I did not keep version 1.5 on my computer....I know...kinda stupid. Have all the updates tho! Any help would be appreciated....I hate flying with clear skies :)Harry

Hi Damian and JimI just wanted to give you a heads up on an issue I think I have referred to earlier. (Don't remember though, my memory IS good, but short ;-) )On the Wx Briefing page the US Winds Aloft are being displayed despite the route is being planned within Europe. Is there any plans on making the Winds Aloft display consistent with the intended route? It would be such a nice thing to have handy when planning the flight!Best to you all

Hi,Did a search and looked at the FAQ but didn't find an answer for my question. I do a lot of online flying on Vatsim using Squawkbox. Does Activesky work while flying online? If so, how does it do it? Does it override the weather that Squawkbox provides? Wouldn't that make my weather different from the Vatsim controller's weather?I'm very interested in purchasing Activesky. I just need to know if it works while flying with Vatsim & Squawkbox. Thanks,Mark
