Hi Everybody, I recently have purchased ActiveSky wxRE v1.8 (06/11/2003) and have installed it with Fs2002.I confirm I have the last version of FsUipc v2.975.The first flights I flew with ActiveSky wxRE was perfect and winds aloft was in perfect concordance with the winds aloft given il the winds Aloft window of Active Sky. Two days ago I have downloaded the v1.85 update version. Now I am getting problems with the Winds Aloft.In the Active Sky window the winds aloft @ 35000 ft was given 315/85 kt and the wind aloft given on my aircraft was 315/1 kt. Direction was good, but wind speed very wrong. This trouble was effective during all the flight. Any suggestion ? Do I have …

Hi all i am having a probelm with stuttering while using activesky wxre v 1.85. I get a lot of stuttering while in the cockpit 2d mode. Once i switch to another view the stuttering goes away. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't have anything running in the background while using fs2k2.

I am new to wxRE.I know that people complaigned about no TAF information and the urie"size... character appearing. I followed the update intructions for ActiveSky and updated the version to V1.85 and v1.86.I have the funny feeling that I have updated incorrectly.I wanted to load the weather between Worcester MA and Boston MA (KORH to KBOS).No TAF and the funny characters. I autoloaded a new file in the options screen. I ticked the system time in FS. Did I miss something?Roger

I like the program, which I've had for less than 24 hrs, as I write this note.With regards to the voice transmissions, given that many airfields have an ATIS broadcast I would like to suggest a change to the 122.00 broadcast.Is it possible to make it like a VOLMET broadcast. In europe these are a collection of airfields in the area but it doesnt include the alpha code in the transmission. IE "This is London Volmet south, London Heathrow at 0120 020 degrees six knots ------ QNH 1019.London Gatwick at 0120 060 degrees ten knots ------- QNH 1018.etc etc.If you can design the program so that is reads the ai…

Morning,I shall run a few test to see at what level this starts to occur, but after updating from 1.80 to 1.85, my surface winds & up to a lowish altitude (I'll double check this,) always want to be: 360 / 0 ... No matter where in the world i am, or at what altitude the Airport is. I haven't touched FSUIPC. ALL was working perfectly before in ver 1.80 (except for the update problems, which now seems to be fixed.)Is anyone else experiencing this?, or am i going mad :-)Look forward to an answer.Al

I was located at KSFD when the following screen shot was taken. KSFD obviously has a valid metar as can be seen on the top line. Why is Active Sky using K9V9 weather which is 32 miles away? I hit refresh. I have update metar on new station checked. I am at KSFD. It has a valid metar. Why is Active Sky not using the KSFD weather? I tried this again after downloading another weather set at a different time and got the same results.

Hi GuysI have a serious prblem with v1.85. Everytime I use it and fly for more than 10 minutes my frame rates are killed - down to 1fps. I use wxRE in offline mode, sometimes with FSFlightmax, but this problem occurs when the Flightmax is not used. I switch wxRE off my frame rates are back to normal.My system is a P2600, 512RAM, 128MB Ti4200. If you could throw any light on this I'd be grateful. I am just about to deinstall v1.85 and see what happens...... I'll let you know, but in the meantime if you could have a think about it that would be cool.Thankskurt190

I've been a satisfied user of ActiveSky wxRE for the past few months, however during the past few days ActiveSky wxRE rarely gets past "Cloud layer conflict in METAR, skipping transtion..." When I try to get it to move on, it reports: "Download in progress, please wait."Sometimes shutting down and restarting ActiveSky wxRE will fix things. Lately it's just been hanging, and if I am able to get it to produce weather effects in FS2002, that takes 10 minutes or longer.I'm currently using version 1.85 and it's a fantastic product.

Hi,I am using V1.5 of active sky and I noticed just recently that it no longer sets the surface winds. All other WX is fine and the winds aloft work well but it no longer sets up the surface winds. It used to work just fine but I can't think of what I might have done to cause it to loss the ability to set surface winds. All options are set correctly. Has anyone seen this problem before? I have searched the web site but I can find no reference to this particular problem. Thanks,Mike

Hello Simmers,Two or three days ago i've updated to 1.85 and famous-unfamous '"ourier>' problem is gone, but today i've noticed something similiar :/Now in front of every METAR (TAF is not affected) i get 'ize="5">' string (HTML/XML, or whatever it is), seems to be "size". Hi! As I understand it the 1.85 upgrade only affects new metar format from noaa. I only use Vatsim metar since I only fly online. I'm quite happy with how AS works and why fix anything that isn't broken? Do I still need to upgrade? And if so, for what reason?

I sent a message requiring help for a time oot error appearing IMMEDIATELY when I requested the initial loading of Active Sky. This happened during the server problems of last Friday or Saturday. My initial message is gone. Also my userid and password were no more valid. Bastian answered me and I am just wanted to say thank you. Indeed my Firewall product was preventing the connection with wxRE.

Because I cannot download any metar file (everytime I try I get a timeout message) I posted a message to get help. The answer from the forum author (or whatever he is) is not really a help. Someone else ask me, whether I have the problem yet and I answered:Yes because I get no help from the active sky software company and I wrote that I will not buy any further product from this company.Bang, a few hours later both messages were deleted.Really funny, so only the positive things I can read here

put Meteo in the wastebox and purchased Activesky. installed new FSIUPC with correct setup.Download weather at initial airport and skip to other airports later, the weather is the same.Cant afford to stay online all the time. Use the same procedure as FS real weather or Meteo - download and disconnect. These seems to be better by storing different weather -not only initial airport..

I've noticed that if you enable the "VATSIM METAR'S" option you will have a much more reliable way to download both offline and live METAR updates. No more time-out error's and they download faster :)Regards,Nick Anzelino

For those of you that want to be able to fly in customized weather, here's an easy to use tip that will help you with generating customized METARS:1) Utilizing SERVINFO 2.0, choose the TOOLS/METARS/REQUEST BY ICAO CODE option.2) Pick a region and click the check mark.3) You can now use the Icons on the left to sort the list by weather type.4) Just go down the list until you find the METAR you want and right click on it so you can copy it to the clipboard and then just paste it into the "Custom METAR" line in ActiveSky.5) Change the ICAO code to your desired airport and click "Custom Write".I utilize this when I am looking for rain in order to test out FSFlightmax. Hi All,Can anyone help with this one?I have Activeskywxre 1.8 & FS Sky world, both work fine together except that maybe i have missed a setting or something.What happens is i have a broken cloud sky & looks great until i get to about a thousand feet & then the fs sky world sets kick in, & well it just looks a bit Naff. Drop down in flight level & then they dissapear. Maybe its the sets i have installed ?Is there any way of fixing this or is there a setting i must check?Also, what would other users advise on the best FSSW cloud sets to use in order to make the skys look a bit more realistic, rather than clouds just apearing & dissapearing from nowhe…

Damian,Not sure if you can answer this yet before the actual 2004 release but I was wondering something? Since FS2004 can show you weather system off in the distance etc, will 1.9 poll weather stations oh lets say in a 100 mile radius around your aircraft so if it's storming off your left wing you'll actually see that storm out there in the distance? Hi Nick,This is usually related to your sound card drivers... updating them may help. Some sound cards (very few) are incapable of playing back Windows sound (used by wxRE) while FS2002 is running due to the drivers not being updated or other limitations of the hardware (depends on the mfg). Which model sound card do you have? Hopefully the drivers update does the trick.. if not, let me know more details and I'll look into it further.
