Hi Problem best described by a screenshot.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/28095.jpgBasically, the destination I have set kind of sets itself as the current weather when I'm nowhere near the destination, yet the winds aloft data remains proper. This happens quite regularly.Any ideas?!

I was flying from Dublin to Paris (FS COF) and found that Baldonner Center had the same frequency as Flight Watch. I had to turn WxRE off until I was cleared to another frequency as I could not hear ATC. Is there a way to alter the frequency file on FSCOF or put a toggle in the WxRE that turns off FlightWatch Radio?ThanksKevin

Just wanted to report that when I'm starting flying with ActiveSky engaged, the sim crashes as soon as I get to about 2000ft. It doesn't happen if I do not turn on ActiveSky before the flight and if I use default FS9 weather. I usually have to engage ActiveSky when I'm already airborne. The message after crash states a failures and various .dll modules.Regarding flickering of the panel, I've read somewhere here in the forum that I have to disable some option in the hardware, correct? Thanks for any help.Jacek Gawecki

Hi Damian,That's not the 1st time it happens what I'm going to report to you now. But today I decided to take some screenshots and submit them to you. I had VFR condition for SBBR area, made a VFR f/p, prepared the flight on VATSIM, and took off with almost clear skies and the METAR SBBR 031700Z 14013KT 9999 FEW040 25/08 Q1022. But after 2 or 3 minutes I almost suddenly got a terrible fog and low visibility situation, as you can see. Now, ActiveSky shows "Clouds Lower Ceil 2981" and "Clouds Lower Base 1823". That's very very strange, not only because of the FEW040 on METAR, but also for the fact that the terrain elevation for the whole area is about 3400 ft! Is there any …

After upgrading to ActiveSky wxre version 1.9, FSFlightmax no longer shows weather.I have checked all the obvious - the wxre .ini file still shows the correct (same) export path and still generates the wx-export.met file for FSFlightmax - but FSFlightmax is no longer reading the data in the file.I am using FS2002, FSUIPC version 3.03 (registered) and W2K. Any ideas? At this point I would like to re-install the previous version of ActiveSky wxre, since it worked perfectly with FSFlightMax. Where can I download the previous version?Cheers,ClausAny

This a method of dynamic texturing. Render an image, use it as a texture for another object. I imagine this is one technique to render the imposter clouds. Render the 3D clouds and use that image as textures for the imposters. So, that's why both solutions discussed here "should" work. Turning the clouds to 100% 3D kills off the imposters, so no "Render to texture" occurs. Of course, unchecking the "Render to texture" box goes directly to the culprit.Best,Bill

Just wanted to post that I completely fixed the problem I was having with FS2004 crashing while switching screens in XP.I had tried the new 45.20 drivers earlier today but while the problem was reduced it was not cured. I then thought about what Pete Dowson had mentioned about program's running in the background so I used XP's Taskmanager (Ctrl+Alt+Delete) to closed all the programs running it would let me and whalla, no more crashing even under the harshest of switching.I then did a rebooted, did it again and wrote down what I was able to close and then checked each program one by one till I found the culprit, which for me was the Windows Office 98 Tool bar!I then reboot…

Damian/Jim:I must have something set wrong. This morning I was doing an approach into KBOS. Although I was getting wxRE online, conditions were relatively good, while my FS04 Real World conditions were reporting IFR conditions. The FS04 RealWorld data coincided with what Internet WX Radar mapping was reporting online from NNOA, and from Canada's on-line Weather Network reporting systems. My install seems correct and is feeding FS2004 using the current Wideserver/FSUICP from Peter Dowson. I'm using the wxRE suggested FSUIPC sets which run from the FS2004/modules folder. Any ideas? :-zhelp

Hello,I have ActiveSky 1.9 and FSUIPC 3.03... ActiveSky reports a certain METAR - for instance - KDSM reporting Altimeter of 2998.Going into FS2004 I hit B to reset the altimeter - sets it to 2991... Hmmm... So I manually change to 2998 and voila some STUPID Flying Tip thing comes up telling me my Altimeter is incorrectly set.Leads me to believe FS9 is not loading the weather from ActiveSky?Any suggestions..Also - suggestions on getting rid of FLYING TIPS in FS9??? :-)Thanks,~Rich

HelloI bought ActiveSky wxRE 1.87 about a week ago and using it with FS2002. However I'm still unable to see any thunderstorms. Here's an example:LGAD 020820Z 00000KT 9999 TS FEW016CB SCT020TCU BKN090 28/18 Q1010LGZA 020750Z 08004KT 2000 TSRA FEW015 SCT018TCU SCT020CB BKN025 25/23 Q1010These stations are almost 30nm apart and when I got in range of LGAD enroute to LGZA the sky turned clear (it was few at 2500 up to that point). Overflew LGAD with clear skies and this didn't change when I descended to LGZA either. Visibility did reduce though and I had to divert to the alternate as it was below the minimums for a straight-in landing.I flew offline, using the 08Z cycle and …

IN ORDER TO BREAK THE PROBLEM WITH THE VISIBILITY PROBLEM IS TO MAKE YOUR FLIGHT IN THE CREATE A FLIGHT MENU, MAKE SURE THAT YOUR AIRPORT IS SET, THEN CLICK THE WEATHER BUTTTON. GO TO CLEAR ALL WEATHER, THEN GO BACK TO FLIGHT MENU. MINIMIZE FS, AND ON THE ACTIVESKY MENU SELECT REFRESH. GO BACK TO FS AND HAVE FUN. ANTHONY

HiJust wondering. If I have Fs2K2 and 2K4 on my system and then install the WxRE 1.9 upgrade, will WxRE still work on FS2K2? Haven't bought 2K4 yet as all my favorite planes are on 2K2, but am thinking about 2K4 :-)Thanks for any advice/help.Gavin

Quick question:I have just set up Fs9. I have your updated wxre 1.9 installed and I am using FSUIPC 3.03 registered. I live in Orange County California, so this morning I set up a flight out of John Wayne. Metar reported visibility at 8 miles. When I started up FS9, I clear the skies (as you suggest), loaded up KSNA and then start wxre. After the weather was updated, it showed the low visibility in the metar, but in FS9 visibility was unlimited (I could see the San Bernadino Mts in the distance, temp and pressure were correct). When I restarted fs9, and used the internal (FS9) weather download system, I got the low visibility setting. Also when I restarted fs9 and …

I'm running WxRE 1.9 in FS2004. All I am getting is stratus layers after WxRE downloads and updates the weather. I confirmed this by looking at the FS2004 custom weather dialogue box which indeed shows nothing but stratus. I have seen this every time I have run WxRE. I am allowing plenty of time for WxRE to build in the clouds. Eventually, I have to manually change the cloud type to cumulus in FS2004. Any info on why I never get cumulus formations with WxRE would be appreciated.

Hi there,I'm using wxre V1.90.0.2 and fsuipc V3.0.3.0 (own registration) with FS2004 and I'm getting some strange panel flickering in 2-D mode whenever the weather is updating (I think). This doesn't happen in VC and I'm still trying to figure out what causes this since it doesn't happen without wxre running. It appears that everytime the weather is updating and/or the clouds in the distance are changing my 2-D panel starts to flicker for roughly 5-10 seconds in 1 second intervals. This is with default aircraft and panels. Can anyone reproduce this? Please let me know if I need to provide more information. I'm running Winxp home (SP1) and just upgraded to the latest directX…
