Hi to all.I'm using ActiveSky WxRE v.1.91 with FS2004I noticed that even if ActiveSky reports, for example, wind at 11kts, when I arrive at the airport I have wind at 32kts from the same direction!I set the option to force destination weather to block within 80nmThe strange thing is that ActiveSky has a correct weather, so wind from 120 at 11 but in FS2004 I have wind from 120 at 32 :-(Tonight I have this problem landing at LIME, last night this problem occured at LIRN. The problem is that in fs2004 wind condition is different from that reported by ActiveSky. I disable the dynamic weather in FS. Any idea?Ah! I read the post about issue with FS2004. I set all options (but …

I have done a uninstall and reinstall from the 1.90 Full version with the 1.91 Final upgrade. I am running WideFS etc latest versions (checked today). I have Active Sky recognizing FS9 over the network and get weather showing up just fine. However, I cannot select USE FS2004 WEATHER WRITES. If I do, I get the same error message as in the last beta: "error reading wxre.ini file", there may be an offline file/ folder incorrectly set Check your INI file".Thanks.Joe LorencPhiladelphia/Charlotte Hub Manager, Carolina Operations, VN7 Networkhttp://www.vn7network.com/

  6. Hi Pilots! Thanks to all who helped test this round while we ironed out some problems. This update is for wxRE 1.x users only. You must have wxRE installed to apply the update.Download it from:http://www.hifisim.com/wxre191update.zipRevisions to v1.91 (from v1.90)* Added FS2004 Path option - You can manually enter your FS2004 path here if you have it installed on a different machine. Most users can leave this option blank. Only applies when FS2004 Weather Write option enabled (see below)* Added FS2004 Weather Write option - This will write the weather to all nearby stations via FSUIPC's new NWI weather interface - and will effectively solve any "stuck winds" issues cause…

Guys,I was just wondering if missing vapor trails would be caused by AS? Usually the trails should start showing up from FL300, to my surprise the trails are missing not only at the aircraft I'm flying but also the AI aircraft. Just as an observation, using default weather does not take away this effect. I'm using 7th beta version of 1.91c.Any input on this would be greatly appreciated.

What is the correct proceedure for installing the recent flurry of beta upgrades? I've just downloaded beta 7.Does one remove older upgrades, or simply unzip the newest beta in the same folder where wxRE 1.9 resides?

Hi,I bought one of these cards thinking wxRE might run more efficiently with more card RAM. The MSI entry is one of many using the Nvidia chipset and I've tried the latest, the greatest and all with the same results: I've got 'virtual panel' but no pop-up panel views, i.e. (throttles, ohead, etc) but no 2D primary panel at all just black holes. I'm currently using 45.43 drivers which work fine in FS2002, but don't in FS2004? :~P Done the re-installs, later versions of drivers, you name it, but no joy. Anybody sharing the pain with this card in FS2004? Ron McLeod CYEG :-violin

Hi,Simple... uninstall the beta, go back to 1.9... 1.91 beta is not yet finished and still has problems, thus the disclaimer "use at your own risk"... Stutters during wx updates are a fact of life with FS2004. Increase your intervals for better performance. You are requesting support on a beta version - please instead of that, try beta testing and supplying us with feedback that will help us get it ready for release. For example, you could give us more info on these "side swings"? and loss of engine power? Thanks.. If you're not into testing, you could go back to 1.9.Hope that helps!-Damian[table border=0" cellspacing="30" cellpadding="0][tr][td align = "left"]Damia…

Hi all,Beta 7 fixes some more FS2004 NWI interface problems dealing with winds and temperatures. Now transitions should be much more stable and the temps should be accurate. A completely new localized station search system is used to ensure consistent wx through the local station areas. This beta is for any existing wxRE 1.x user. Hi, I was just thinking of something that might be interesting especially to low-bandwidth users. In the next version of Wx-RE, would it be possible for us to download weather for only certain regions? For example, I fly mainly in Europe, so when I'm downloading weather I don't need the winds and metars for north america, asia, africa, south america etc...So would it be possible in the next wx-re update to include an option that can let you download only european metars and winds, for instance? It would reduce the download size by far and it would be quicker.Just an ideaA319

Hi,Here are some common FS2004 issues and what you can do to fix it..1) Flickering in 2D panel or blank screen/crash: Turn OFF render to texture in FS display settings (this is documented, please read FSUIPC and wxRE documentation). Also, TURN OFF Anti-Aliasing within FS - this is a known problem, it does not work (you can enable AA via your graphics card properties or tweak tool).2) Flickering clouds at distance: Make your 3D cloud percentage 100% (this is documented, please read FSUIPC and wxRE documentation).3) Thunderstorm, rain or TCU/CB layer problems: Update wxRE to 1.91 (beta now available at top of forum).4) Weather not changing properly, winds not correct, etc…

I have latest versions of Active Sky WXre and FSUIPC(registered) and am experiencing intermittent dreaded black screen crashes. This seems to happen when I have Active Sky running before I start FS9 and the crash occurs less than a second after seeing the aircraft panel (in 2D mode) on startup i.e just after initial loading of the terrain/aircraft/textures/traffic etc. My apologies if this is NOT related to Active Sky but so far I have only experienced the crash when I have Active Sky running - as with intermittent faults rather difficult to find what may be causing it. The crash happens with MS default aircraft so hardly likely to be an a/c panel problem.P4 1.3GHz640M…

Hi all,Just a heads up... you will not get "good" performance with FS2004 and AS2 with a very low end system. While this is certainly not a surprise for most, some people may not realize this, as I was reminded in a recent support thread. I will be placing a MINIMUM/RECOMMENDED system spec label on any future product documentation. For now this is planned:MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:Pentium 1GHZ or equivelent256MB RamRECOMMEND SYSTEM:Pentium 2GHZ or higher512MB Ram +SOUNDCARD:To listen to Voice Flighwatch/ATIS: A soundcard capable of multiple .wav playback (to test your card, try playing a .wav file while FS2004 is running). Just another new user seeking clarification. In FSMeteo, you can specify a date and time for METAR download. Am I correct in assuming that ActiveSky only allows you to specify a time in the current 24 hour cycle, or can you get a weather set from, for example, last June? Thanks

I loaded up wxRE and FS9 today to check out the hurricane in Bermuda. For some reason, wxRE is detecting the active wx station at KHSE, which is 570nm from Bermuda, so I was getting weather from N. Carolina. TXKF (Bermuda) has a weather station and I was able to retrieve metar and taf reports, but wxRE isn't seeing things my way on this ;) I assume I have a setting or two wrong. Can you advise how I might get it to detect the correct wx station?KP
