Hi DamianI was wondering if something could be done to the current beta version of wxRE to make a broken could layer more realistic? Obviously, broken cloud is not far off being overcast, yet in FS2002 there seems to be little difference between few, scattered and broken cloud coverage.Hopefully something could be done?:-)

I am betting this is a 04 problem. But I can get great overcast conditions until about 10000ft and then it's a broken layer and I can see the ground. I got everything set in FSUPIC and WXRE the way it should be. Is it just me or have I missed something??

Jim - is there an estimated date on the new server? I have not been able to use AS for a couple of weeks.You say the normal servers came back, but I get noweather - timeout on upper winds. When that happensI get no METARs either, even with the latest updateof the beta version. I have no other problems with my computer or provider, I even disable the firewall.Sure is getting frustrating.

I've been noticing that cloud formations seem to change very rapidly while using FS2004 and AS beta 5.Is there a setting within AS or FSUIPC beta 6 that will allow for smooth transitions of cloud formations while flying? I can seem to find any setting that would allow for smooth transitions. BTW, I do set FS2004 Dynamic Weather Changes to NONE.Thank you in advance for your tips and suggestions.

Just wondering if anyone been able to pick or generate the Hurricane around the Bahamas. I've been flying all around and the only thing I see are large puffy clouds. Been tracking the storm form the TV, but nothing.Bill M

Please note that this system is for AS2 (in development) ONLY and will not work for wxRE 1.x. There are too many differences in the data to provide the same for wxRE 1.x with global weather only.Many users have asked "when the new system will be online for wxRE" and the answer is, unfortunately, never... Hi all,Lots of problems found in betas 4 and 5 - a complete re-write of the FS2004 localized write procedure was done. I have tested continuously over the past 24 hours and everything appears to be working correctly now in all configurations.New option: "FS2004 Weather Writes". FS2004 users need to check this box. It will disable the old FS98 weather interface and enable the new FS2004 NWI weather interface. Hello,Normaly I see AS update FSFlightmax with all previous versions.With the new version I don't see the text come by with: 'Exporting file's for FSFlightmax'? Also, I alway's set the 'aloft wind' update. The AS window tells me alway's that its innitializing the ALOFT, but nothing happends...it hangs or something?Also I see this text very often (I use FS2002 only): FS9 has assumed control of WX, forcing local station writes'?Thankscloudy9

Hey guy's! I seem to get really bad pauses and Stutters when ActiveSky is updating the Weather!!, Like say, i am cruzing at 31,000ft, with clouds, then when ActiveSky updates and changed the clouds per the update, i get like a 2-3 sometimes 4-5sec pauses, then FS will run again, then get pauses again once all the weather is updated!?? WHY Is this, never happened in 2002 before, ran very smooth in 2002! But is really bad in 2004! I have DSL! So is there a way to fix this Bad Stutter problem's?? Hi DamianI was wondering, what are the criteria that ActiveSky uses when selecting the type of clouds to display? I'm asking because I lately noticed that high altitude cloud layers, say FL180-FL200, are displayed by ActiveSky as cumulus clouds while they should actually be cirrus.CheersMiltos

Hello,I just purchased ActiveSky, the dowloaded install version was v1.90.I just downloaded the lastest beta release V1.91 Beta 5 which should bring my version up to date, but on ActiveSky's main screen on the lower right corner the version displays v1.90.93bDid I not install the upgrade correctly? Does anyone use Active Sky and FS Sky World together in FS2002. How does it work and is it suppose to replace the default clouds in FS2002 when Active Sky requests a new set of clouds?I did a search and couldn't find any information. One of the things I've noticed in FS9 is that when I go to fly online with VATSIM via squawkbox that the ATIS broadcasts go away - I can't listen to them on the radio.I'm considering buying ActiveSky - does the flight watch feature work when online in multiplayer mode? Specifically, can I tune 122.0 on Com2 while I'm working ATC on Com1?

Hi Damian,I know that you have a new server for the weather downloads. But I'm still having a heck of a time getting the weather. It is still timing out during the winds aloft download portion, and the TAF's and METAR's take forever. I'm using the "low-bandwidth" option of Version 1.87.Gets really frustrating. Trying to download for the 3rd time now, and it's taken me almost an hour to this point.Also, it would be nice if you could stop the download, once you see it is going to time out, by a means other than bringing up the task box (in Win98) and ending the program from there. If I try to quit while the program is attempting to download, it won't let me. Perhaps this ha…

I got FltMax displaying weather useing AS 1.9 beta3. However the returns only show up 150 to 200 miles out. I get nothing to show up close even though it's raining and lightning all around. If I chase the radar returns, the closer I get they start to disappear from screen. Just wondering if anyone figured out a way to make ehcos show close up storms??Bill M
