Hello,I notice with 1.87 flying in real heavy weather conditions my Frame Rates really go down.Anyone know the best settings for keeping those Frame rates up above 18fps?I'm using a Intel Pentium 4 with 512 of Ram memory,128 FX 5200 GeForce Video Card on a 80 GB Hard Drive.I should be getting high Frame Rates and I do when the weather is not running.There has to be some setting within this weather program that will help me out.I have tried all other FS 2002 settings and that doesn't seem to help out much,alittle but not that much. I'm using ActiveSky wxRE v1.87 and while I'm generally happy with the results (much better than the default FS2002 weather download), getting ActiveSky wxRE to download and implement the weather always takes some coaxing on my part. Often times I'm spending 10 to 15 minutes trying to get ActiveSky to implement the weather into FS2002 because ActiveSky typically hangs for minutes at a time on "Cloud layer conflict...", meanwhile no weather is being loaded into FS2002. My usual remedy is to shut down and then restart ActiveSky, with better results the next time around, though sometimes I'm obliged to do this more than once, and ActiveSky can be a stubborn program to shut do…

Hiya, two things,firstly, why do I keeo getting timeout errors when trying to downoad offline weather cycle files, and second, what is the difference between defcycle.wxd, expcycle.wxd etc....also, if I were to download an offline file t 15:00Z and then another at 16:00Z I would have two offline files, but if I downloaded again at 15:00 and 16:00 the next day, would these files be overwritten? Hi I have Activesky wxRE 1.87 and it replaced the free version 1.5. The free version used to download the necessary metar and change the WX accordingly in a few minutes. I was so impressed with it over another free version of a WX program that I bought the latest version and upgraded it V1.87. Since then it taked about 15 minutes to download. I know it is probably processing more infomation than the free version 1.5 but I have a 1meg broadband connection and now have to start it up 10 - 15 minutes before starting FS2002 so it can dispaly the WX. I just want to make sure I'm doing this right because what I'm seeing on the wxRE status screen while flying a flight is a bit confusing...I want the program to download a new update every 8 minutes rather than updating every time it hits a new station. Does the current 1.87 engine simulate the very localized turbulence that produces the infamous microburst problems where up and downdrafts can vary over short sections of the runway? These not perceived very high rez areas are sometimes the cause of usually approach crashes near the threshold. This is getting ridiculous! It's bad enough not to get anyupper winds for a flight, but many, many times (twice this week)I get no metar for my departure airport because of the windstimeout thing. At this moment, I have been waiting 15 minutesfor local weather at ft. riley kansas. A few days ago, I neverdid get local weather. Hi There, I recently have downloaded the 1.87 version of ActiveSky wxRE.When flying in France and in generally in the european countries (flying the A3xx PSS series) everything looks OK, I mean winds aloft (speed, direction and temperature). The values given on the different ECAM are exactly those given in the ActiveSky wxRE window, and the bird is perfecly flying. When flying in the Middle East countries (Israel, Saoudia Arabia, Pakistan etc...), winds aloft (speed and direction) are OK, but the temperature is absolutely wrong. For example temp given in the ActiveSky wxRE window at 35000 ft is -51deg when the temp given on the ECAM is +1 or +2 deg. This causes a problem…

Hello all! I went through this once before, and Jim replied with a solution that worked great...for a while. I am having problems once again with the FS 2002 ATC vectoring me to land on a runway, and the tower giving me clearance to land on an entirely different runway. I even tune in ATIS, and it is correct, yet the online ATC keeps doing this.I just upgraded to the latest version of Active Sky, I have FSUIPC 2.975, and run Ultimate Traffic as well.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!Thanks again all!A bewildered semi-newbie!

i just recieved asky today and ive noticed 3 things. the clouds dont transition gradually as stated and there arent and of those clouds that i love and thats the cumulonimbus anvil clouds, why arent there any of them, and finally why cant the new layer of clouds be in the horizon and you fly up to them? any ideas are appreciated

Regardless of weather conditions, the winds at my home airport always display as 1@1 in online mode. WXRE seems to get the clouds and temperature right more often than not, but winds never.My airport is IGQ. It is an untowered field 7 miles southwest of Gary Indiana (GYY) with 24-hour automated weather reporting.I have 1.85 installed.Thanks for your help.

Hi Damian or whoever might know.I very rarely these days go into the 'options' section as i have AS setup pretty much how i want it. However on trying to view the options page today to check on something, It would perform a weather update (as though i'd pressed the 'refresh' button) instead. .. a bug? or just me being soft? :-)I'm running the latest version.RegardsAl

I can't get AS to connect to FS2002 via widefs for some reason. It worked without problems before but after a mobo and processor upgrade I cant get it to connect. Everything else except for fs realtime and AS connects and works as they should. I have tried un/reinstall both AS, FSUIPC and WIDEFS but no joy. This is really strange. Any suggestions.

When going to its web page it says in substance that the release of an upgrade has been delayed pending an authorisation from Noaa. It even quotes an isolated sentence of Noaa's terms and conditions about public usage of Noaa's datas.Is there here something ActiveSky users should worry about? or is this a storm in a tea cup generated for publicity purpose or other hidden motives? Hi Damian,From reports I have it looks like FSFlightMax is working with FS2004 and the new beta version of FSUIPC. As you may expect the new weather generator of FS2004 won't work with FSFlightMax therefore no radar echoes can be expected when sourcing the wx files from FS2004. Therefore my request to you: can you please include FSFlightMax in your forthcomnig upgrade of ActiveSky so that users can continue to benefit of weather radar echoes as they did in the past.ThanksMichael
