Hi,I would like to know if using IVAO weather servers could be an option in the next release, as is using Vatsim's instead of NOAA's now. This woul be very useful because sometimes you fly with the, for example, 1800Z Metar from NOAA, but IVAO still has 1700Z Metar, so the controller has different weather of you. Thanks and keep doing a magnificent work.RgrdsHC

Hi All,wxRE 1.87 update has been uploaded to the AVSIM file libraries (filename is wxre187update.zip) and should be available for download very soon. This update fixes problems with TAFs in the briefing screen and OFFLINE modes. All wxRE users should update. Hi,Been using 1.86 since I purchased wxRE and I've noticed that when I'm flying in the UK (my homeland) and the vis is less than 9999 the voice reports on 122.00 can't cope the it, not can it seem to get to grips with any rain or thunderstorms. Sometimes it just says the letters, other times it just bleeps which I've found out means it can't find a wav file to say the text.Tried a reinstall with no change. Anyone got any suggestions? I was wondering if I made up my own wav files and labelled it in the same manner as suggested for for airport names would that work?Rgds Ron

I just started using wxRE and it's great fun. But I'm having one problem - the taxi-wind control in FSUIPC doesn't seem to work. It seems to get stuck in the on or off position regardless of how it's set with real time weather. If I used a saved weather file, the taxi-wind control works fine. I've updated to wxRE 1.86 and am using FSUIPC 2.975. Any thoughts on what's wrong? Also, when using a saved weather file, do I need to set both the date and time to that of the file or just the time?thanks, Dick

I've had problems with 1.86 involving very long download times to get the weather. What's funny is that when I fill out the destination airport box, that airport loads immediately, however the airport I am sitting at takes forever. What gives?

I seem to get the following grey warning window popping up a lot of the time in the evenings, & restarting doesn't fix it much."---------------------------ActiveSky wxRE---------------------------There is a communications problem with the Aloft server. Please use offline mode or try again later.. The problem should correct itself soon.---------------------------OK ---------------------------"During the day, Activesky runs fine, so it seems to be simply an overloading due to high demand ??? - As it always seems to be happenning early evening UK time & into the night (More people logging on)Is this something out of Damians's hands, or can access to the Aloft ser…

It appears that since I upgraded to 1.8-1.86, FS2002 started crashing. The program displays a Microsoft bug window, asking me if I want to send it, and when I press "don't send", fs2002 exits to the desktop. If I fly without ActiveSky, I do not experience program crashes. Any ideas?tony

I am still having problems with TAF reports. I am only getting the first line of the report in Active Sky. Attached is a TAF file I just aquired using Active Sky. Notice what appears to be double spacing between TAF elements.I can edit the file to eliminate the spaces and get all of a report to show up in Active Sky. Has anyone else noticed this?Any help much appreciated.

I don't believe I have the latest version. If not, I will get it soon. Meanwhile, I have been using it, and these are some problems i am encountering...Weather data is unavailable 50% of the time.... It takes a very long time to download latest wx sometimes (i have dsl connection, and sometimes its very fast when downloaded the wx from activesky)When coming into approach, I will be cleared to land on one runway, then when i contact tower, he tells me to land on the opposite end. I know this is due to changes in winds from whenever i got clearance to approach the field in the first place. How can I fix these problems? Thanks!PS - when the data is unavailable, what is of…

Hi everybody,I am using ActiveSky 2002 v1.5.As other people,I have noticed the urier"size="5" error.I understand it's due to a new Metar format and that there is a cure for it,the 186update.But,does this update work on version 1.5 and if not,is there any other update that I can use.Does this nuisance affect the performance of the software? Thanks.Carlo Ferrando

Hello,I have been happily using the freeware activesky2002 (v1.5) for several months and I think it is a BRILLIANT program!Recently however, i have been getting an odd text at the beginning of the METAR reports. All my reports now have (urier" size = "5">) )(without the parenthesis) at the beginning of them. This seems to cause activesky to think the wind direction is "5" (with qoutes) and it also thinks the wind speed is the second two letters of the ICAO of the reporting station. IE: KLAX=LA it also thinks the datetime is the word "size" (this comes from the runtime status screen)This means that I get correct cloud layers, pressure, precipitation ect but no lower lev…

Using off line mode - no problems with metars and taffs. But when it changes to 'downloading todays winds' it hangs and attempts to connect about five times before getting going again. This adds another 3 minutes to download time.Any reason for this? Other wise absolutely delighted with program.RegardsDavid EICK

Hi Folks,With regards to my earlier post with a replacement wmo.txt file.I found that quite a few of the stations listed by WMO do not provided the information we want and wxre can't find its information. As a result quite a lot have been removed from my list. What I've done is taken a copy of the upper winds message from NOAA and just listed the stations that appear on that download. This means that my earlier list has been reduced from over 1400 down to around 650. Thats about 200 more than the original wmo.txt file (from 1.86)Again I've attached this to this post. Please feel free to download and use it. Usual comments apply, make a copy of your original wmo.txt file as …

I am still getting this wretched "Error reading wxre.ini - an offline folder may not be set correctly" message when I try to load a weather cycle that I have downloaded using wxre 1.8 or 1.86. Strangly enough the older cycles I got using 1.7 work fine.I have am just about ready to give up as I have wasted Soooooo much time downloading wx cycles only to find that they do not work.I even went to the extreme of reformatting my hard drive and reinstalling Windows XP and everything else but to no avail. The latest version 1.86 even gives me the message "Error reading wxre.ini" when it first loaded up using the default cycle that came with 1.86.I only am using the download vers…

Hi Guys & Gals,I found a web site last night with a list of 15000 weather stations. I have taken the ones that show as have some sort of upper air measurements and made up a replacement wmo.txt file which is attached to this post. Please note I have not fully tested it but tried a local airfield in the UK and one in France. Both came up with the nearest upper wind. Please use at your own risk and remember to back up the old wmo.txt file just in case my files wont work in the areas you are flying in.There is just over 1400 stations listing in this file and while it came from a WMO file I can't be certain all still provide weather reports. Also there are no airfield ID's …

I'm sure the answer is no, but today, Saturday 28, 03, ActiveSky has been having problems downloading winds aloft data. Has anyone else experience this problem? Is there a way to import the Wx data FS downloads (including winds aloft) into ActiveSky? For those days when the server ActiveSky uses is down, it would be nice to be able to just use FS and import it's weather data into ActiveSky.Dave Vega

Hi Damian et al!First, thanks for the prompt patch releases for that NOAA thing! However, having made 5 trips, I noticed some problems with. Look at the screenshot. For your information, NOAA webpage gave me at the time screenshot was taken the following info:METAR: SBBR 281200Z 03001KT CAVOK 17/09 Q1023 TAF: SBBR 280900Z 281212 10005KT CAVOK BECMG 2224 00000KT TX26/18Z TN11/09ZSo, I don't know why I got that message "Cloud layer conflict in METAR, skipping transition...", nor the erratic winds aloft, with only two layers and 999 temperatures. Please, check it for us. TIA
