Damian and The Team are well aware of the METAR string problem and here is what we know so far:1. TAF reports are blank.2. Hi all,I have just installed FS Sky world SE 2.4 & was wondering if any other users of both programs activesky & fs sky world has come up with the ideal settings. I have a couple of questions i need some help on & would be appreciated.1. once fs2002 has loaded, online with active sky, does fssw need to run in the background also along with active sky? & is there a order in which one you open up first?2. when installing my preffered cloud sets from fssw, i now seem to be getting the error message in active sky "CLOUD LAYER CONFLICT IN METAR". is this conflicting with the clouds i install from fssw.3. when my flight is loaded, i now seem to be in vitual cock…

I do not have the original install program for activesky, but do have the 1.8 update. How do I go about getting the original, so I can update it, and continue enjoying this software ON MY NEW SCREAMIN' computer! :) Do I have to download again, which I assume, and how do I do that without have to "buy" it again? Hi,when flying on-line & active sky is doing its stuff, why does the active station say 0nm or sometimes 1nm? just wondering.If it says 0nm, does this mean it is not working correctly?thanksmike.

Hello all togetherit was very stressful to get help or support for this program. The [email protected] email there was no answer in the last 3 weeks of my mails. Than I find this forum and I hope I can get help here.I purchased the Active Sky program 1.7 4 weeks ago. I installed it and make all necessary settings in FSUIPC, FS2002 and active sky. But I'm not able to download any Metar file. Everytime I get a timeout error independent what time I try to download. Then I update to 1.8. Hi all,Following a total XP rebuild I have installed FSUIPC 2.975, wxRE 1.7 and the 1.8 update.Few problems, wxRE insists on showing me the 'welcome notes' everytime I start, is this normal?I copied the FSUIPC.ini file provided with v1.7 into the FS Modules directory (note the readme file refers to v1.6 with regard to the FSUIPC ini file). First problem is the configuration information provided in the wxRE documentation (PDF file) is not the same as that set by the provided FSUIPC.ini file, which is correct for v1.8?Finally, I live in Melbourne Australia, do I get accurate TAF information? Hi there,I am also getting this "Error reading wxre.ini - an offline folder may not be set correctly" message but only when I try to load a weather cycle that I have downloaded using wxre 1.8. The older cycles I got using 1.7 work OK.Any ideas please?Richard

great program has really increased my enjoyment of flight sim, one question though i have recently been flying from EGCC manchester uk, online, my metar will say foe example 240 at 35kts wich is always spot on with uk met office metar.yet pressing ctrl and z whilst in flight sim to get frame rates and heading etc the wind direction and velocity will be completly different, does activesky overwrite what fs shows, i hope i have made this understandable..mark

Hi,Having downloaded the update from the just flight web site, i am still experiencing a few problems.1) From my active sky not working at all, i would say it works about 30% of the time & this is due to the same old problem i get everytime, relating to "03238".Now, as i might have said before in another thread, it just keeps trying other stations & just keeps doing that in a loop.I then have to ctrl+alt+del to end the program & close it down.I then fire up FSMeteo & it works first time everytime.Now, i am not comparing the two by no means, as i would prefer to use active sky everytime all the time,as i think this is a far better program than Fsmeteo, but …

Hiya all I notice this today when doing a flight from EGLL to LGAV, It dosnt show a distance to LGAV when the destination airport is LGAV. Apon checking the ICAO.txt file in the active sky directory its not actually there at all?Has there been an updated ICAO list for active sky, If not how could i found the long and lat for the airport so i can enter it myself?ThanksDean

I have recently reinstalled FS2k2 in preparation for installing ultimate traffic, however now that I have reinstalled wxRE and updated to version 1.8, I am receiving the following error: "Error reading wxre.ini - an offline folder may not be set correctly." I've tried to edit the ini directly, but I've found three copies of it on my hard drive (my documents, common files, and in the active sky folder). Should all of these copies of wxRE.ini be there? Also, I've read in another post that allowing an online cycle to download, saving my settings, and restarting wxRE should resolve the problem. Is that correct?Thanks!sg

Hope a future version will enable printout of an areas weather depiction so areas of hazardous weather including TRW lines and locations can be noted while flight planning.Did I miss this?

Hello Anyone, I just purchase ACTIVESKY 1.8 and after installing it,it runs ok but I can't just turn it on from FS 2002,WHY? I have to look in the ACTIVESKY folder within FS 2002 and turn it on from there,there is no Desttop shortcut or anything in FS 2002.Also you can't shut it off after it's been turned on,any suggestions? Another thing is I haven't seen a drop of rain and I know I have flown in places where there has been rain,dry as a bone! So why don't I see rain? I hope you can help or else I will have to go back to WEATHERCENTRAL 2.0,had plenty of rain before. Thanks,

Is it possible to rename the saved cycle files or extend the name to allow a short descriptive token and still load them into WxRE 1.8?I'm looking to save interesting weather situations to activate at will when it is just too calm and peaceful and I need to simulate storm storm cell avoidance.If not, then I'll just write a rename/copy script to run outside of the application.

I have just reinstalled FS2K2, FSFlightmax and Active Sky wx.RE 1.8. Now my problem - it does not seem to rain anymore. I have been to various places with thunderstorms, but no rain. Great big radar reflections on the Flightmax, thunder and lightning but no rain. My favourite place for thunderstorms (for checking the flightmax operation) if Libreville (FOOL) in Gabon. How can I easily create manual, realistic weather with ActiveSky? Typing in METARs doesn't seem an easy task to me...Andreas
