First of all - Great program!!Secondly, how does AS2004 handle multiple weather stations that are close together? I've noticed that it seems to get confused in these situations. For example I was flying at KSFO which was reporting 100 overcast and 1/8 mile vis with fog. KSQL is 10 to 15 miles away and closer to the final for rwy 28r was 1,500 sct 2,000 broken and 7 miles vis. On the ground at KSFO the weather matched fine -- when turning about a 10 mile final for the ILS 28R at KSFO, I could see the airport only to have it drop back to 100 overcast and 1/8 mile vis about 30 seconds after landing. Hi,Does anyone know of a freeware program/utility that can convert PMDG'S .rte flightplans to FS9 format (.pln)? I do have a program called pln2rte but I like to find a program able of doing it the other way around.Reason I ask is I bought Active Sky a couple of days ago and I would like to be able to load my PMDG flightplans into it and as far as I know it only accepts FS9's default format (.pln)Would greatly appreciate any hints!Cheers,

Would someone tell me if I need to open Sky World each time I start FS. If I choose Random Clouds and have those installed when I come back to fly FS the next time must I open SkyWorld and make my selections again or just open FS and open AS to get current weather and go or must SkyWorld be open and running.ThanksRon

let me first say from the screen shots I cant wait to get this running & thank you Chis for sharing with the FS community all your hard work. I thoroughly read the manual, installed the required VB files and unzipped the FSSky World files to a directory outside of FS9. But when I try to run the program I get the following error & can not figure out what to do. Can someone possibly help?

I want my clouds to look just like the weather is outside (or as close to it as possible) What settings are ideal to get this with FS Skyworld? I am looking at it and it seems we are limited in our cloud sets. So if the AS wx engine calls for a particular stratus cloud say and you don't have that particular cloud set loaded, then what? I dont want it displaying something different.

This only happens when use the Active Sky....why?

I have installed Chris Willis's Fs Sky World 2004 and it looks great,however I am now having a problem. I am flying out of KEGT which uses KIAB as the initial wx station for active sky. It is currently raining and overcast which active sky correctly shows the rain and clouds all about but no overcast. In checking my config file with others here I see it is missing some enteries. I have the Build 147 so it should be current. As you can see I don't show any entry for haze layer or auto convert plan files.These options are listed on my options section of the opening page where options are determined and checked but my choices do not carry over to the config file.My config file is in C:/ActiveSky/Config fileThat may be my problem but I don't know where it should go. Hi folks,can anyone please help me?I'm running AS2004.5 on a client PC and installed as per official instructions Active Radar on FS2004 PC.Now, when in the cockpit i open Active Radar>>>MENU>>>PLANNING>>>MSFS after that i select a flight plan from those listed in FS9 files>>>OK but no flightplan appears into Active Radar and if i click on UPDATE.... nothing again, flightplan doesn't show.What should i do?Thanks in advance for helpingLuigi ;-)

I see that fs skyworld is being released. I have also read some threads about other 3rd party cloud sets. That confused me some because I thought that Active Sky provided its own, best cloud sets, but apparently that's not so. Just what are the preferred clouds? I will be downloading fs skyworld when it's up (later today?), and maybe that's the answer.Thanks,Keith

Hi GuysSorry to be a pain, i know this question have been posted somewhere before.I am just flying in and around KSEA at the moment, AS2004.5 renders the cloud layers beautifully, but.......I get those damn instant change in visibility as i did before i had this application.....which is the main reason i bought it !!!I can see in the distance for instance - looks hazy - then i take off and at around 2000ft - BOOM - !!! Hi,Have been thinking I might buy AS since I heard lots of people say it's a great add-on but have a few questions.What in FS changes with AS - the clouds, the lighting, the sky in itself or all of them?Two things I noticed that I don't like when using the built-in FS weather is that the clouds sometimes are very "edgy" near mountain tops when looking down and the other thing is that when flying at night, the sky never seems as black as it is IRL but instead has this kind of shimmering effect in strange coulours when you're at your cruise altitude and looking straight ahead/up.Will Active Sky improve these things and part from those, what more is improved when using AS in…

Hey AS2004.5 team, As I've said before, this is a most excellent program. I've always said, the real scenery is in the skies, and your excellent program has really brought my virtual skies to life. There are so many little things that I keep experiencing in the virtual weather that at times leaves me wishing I had someone standing behind me all the time watching me fly so I could point it out to them. Of course I realize flight simmers are an exclusive breed that probably aren't too high on the donors list (or weathermen for that matter), and would turn around to probably find them fast asleep, but all the same, your program is truly revolutionary when it comes to weather…

Hello, I hope this doesn't sound to weird?Is the time of the metars when flying online equal the real time or what the flight sim time is set to on my computer?eg My flight sim is set to 0830 utc but its outside it's 1430 utc and I'm flying online. I thinks all the weather and winds are showing the 1430 utc time even though the sun is showing the 0830utc visiblity.Is that right?regards Rob

Yup. You read right. Once every now and then, when I try to bring up or close the Active Radar screen by hitting Ctrl+F12, FS9 shuts down immediately altogether. Extremely annoying as I was 100m away from landing after a 5500nm flight...twice today. Anybody else experiencing this andf any advice as to how to fix it?SP
