greets all,i have AS2004.5 B163 and FSUIPC 3.411 installed.the problem is that when on the ground at whatever airport, the winds are shown at 01kts. eg currently at YPPH metar shows winds 193/12 and FS shows winds 193/01. i also dont "feel" the winds on the plane.AS2004.5 is set to default settings and FSUIPC is set to min weather.is anyone able to shed some light on this?????thanks in advance.

Flying the Flight One ATR, I was climbing out of PADQ with the A/P engauged, all of a sudden I started to porpoise... VS would indicate 2300 then down to -500 then back up to 2300. Anyway it eventually stabilized..Now the weather is bad and I am using Active Sky, so I wonder if this was due to up and down drafts? Or was there a minor glitch with the auto-pilot? This is the first time this has happended.Any ideas?Barry

I have had to reinstall FS9 after a virus forced me to reinstall windows etc. I was able to save all of my data however there have been so many revisions to Active Sky that I am not sure how to go about reinstalling.Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated.Thanks Roger Hollands

Hi folks, just reading through the posts, and I'm rapidly getting the impression I may be missing something, coz so far I'm failing to see what everyone is raving about....It's nice®, but 40Euro's nicer? No way.In Explorer, I look at C/PROGRAM FILES/MICROSOFTGAMES/FLIGHTSIMULATOR9/MODULES/ACTIVESKY2004 and I have two files:Docs and VoiceDocs has Index Files behind it, and Voice has two folders: Voice1 and Voice2.I am trying to find the config file to post here for someone to look at, but I can't find it. I just bought the CD version of ActiveSky wxRE,is this not AS2004???Confused hereI thought the transitions were supposed to be smoothed out but on a short fligt near Winnipeg I was in dense clouds with snow, then all of a sudden I was in CLEAR SKIES, everywhere? Just an observation. Seeing as the beta testers were using a different version of fsuipc, wouldn't it have been better to release this latest version w/ the same version of fsuipc that they were using? Kind of hard for any of the beta testers to relate to the problems some may be having when different versions of fsuipc were being used, doncha think?

How can I find which {32 bit or DXT} I installed as I don't remember being given a choice and what I understand on the FS Clouds site is we have a option on downloading a fix but nothing about a choice when we orginally download the program. I think I am missing something but don't know what. I can't find anything in properities or anywhere else.ThanksRon

Hey Jim and Damian,Recently I have been reading some posts about the Render To Texture option. It has got me puzzled. Let me explain:I am using Project AI aircraft, which I all converted to DXT3 textures for better textures on my system (it works).I am also using the DXT3 High Cloud Performance textures made by Chris.This mean I have to have the Render To texture option turned on, right? I also know it causes my 2D panel to flicker every now and then, but that's something I have learned to live with.What improvement should I see if I am using the 32 bit cloud textures? And is it possible to turn Render To Texture off, even with my DXT3 PAI aircraft textures?Reason for ask…

I downloaded AS2004.5 last night, and got in a quick 5min flight before management dragged me away to do something..Before I make any comments, I have the following folder in Windows Explorer:Microsoft Games/Flight Simulator 9/Modules/ActiveSky 2004/Docs/VoiceThis doesn't seem like a hell of a lot for a 6MB download! And what I saw out of the cockpit window last night didn't look that stunning...I'm still hunting for the Manual, but any comments re: a dodgy download on my part would be appreciated.CheersTim

Dear AS2004 Team,I think it would be quite helpful to have a sticky post here in this forum with your recommended settings for all AS2004 and FSUIPC options for the actual version. That might ease for you the solution of a lot of questions posted here. Because both - we the AS users and you the developers - would as a first step try to reproduce the situation with the "reference option set". On a flight from KLAX to KSFO yesterday, I noticed a lot of flickering haze in the valleys below. Is there any easy solution to this? I would guess that this is an AS issue. Am I right? Thanks for any help.

Hi,Is there any chance of implementing SIGMETs in AS? In real-life, as you know since you are pilot, we read relevant SIGMETs for each flight. E.g. SIGMET says to expect mod to sev turb below FL70 in are north of N063 and east of E014 and the turb is WKN (weakening), etc.Same goes for TS, icing, and so on.Could it be possible to implement some routine in AS that would read public SIGMETs and "merge" SIGMETs with current available METAR reports. I have always used flight sim as a training tool for my real world flying. 99% of my usage is approaches and IFR procedures and related practice. Up until recently I have always used the simplest clouds available (2D) and the overcast fix that allows Fs9 to generate a real opaque overcast like 2002 had. More recently I have been finding my self goofing about (aircraft like the FSD Porter & Real Air Spitfire are real fun to play with) and messing around with VFR flying, adding terrain mesh, and land class files to make things look neato. Hello all I have AS and WXRE updates have been added in my FS9 I would like to ask about something that is causing me a lot of trouble . When all is set and the flight starts all looks well.After a while though , how long I could not say ,it varies each time, the whole FS goes black and sends me back to the desktop. I am a long time user of ActiveSky. After tweaking my setup (Pentium 4 3.0, 1Gig DDR RAM, FS9 running on a fast RAID0 set of hard drives, Radeon 9700 Pro w/ 128 Mb) I have FINALLY obtained a smooth running video at 25-29 fps (locked at 30fps) with most settings at a reasonable high level.However, in the course of trying different combinations, I discovered that whenever ActiveSky 4.5 was running in an area with a lot of clouds - the fps would not only drop to about 16 - 20fps, but even worse, begin to stutter. I just bought and installed AS2004.5 and I am having BIG, BIG problems with it.I am running Win98SE and FSUIPS 3.4. Here are the problems:AS2004.5 loads fine, but there is no radar display. This morning i started at EBBR with the metar from 090950. Then the next update was a metar from 090920 with a better visibility. So how is it possible that i get the previous metar update? I tried reloading the weather but i still got the 090920 metar.Look like the 090950 metar disappeard.Gino
