Hi Damian and Jim,yesterday I flew a KBOS-KORD flight and got incorrect weather at KORD.Did everything as usual: cleared wx thru FSUIPC (unregistered), started AS2004, made saved wx active, imported plan, refreshed.KBOS and enroute weather: AS2004=FS9 rendering, winds aloft slightly different but as I put the predictability at 90 % it's exactly what I expected.KORD: TAF was controlling (Zulu was 17) and was forecasting 30015G22KT 1SM -RA BR OVC003. The altimeter was 29.37 as on the METAR (0956Z or so; I assume that AS is NOT able to simulate an altimeter drifting over time if Online update is OFF. This could be a nice enhancment in a future update: the ability to tell AS …

FS9 ATC always gives me the wrong t/o rnwy based on AS weather wind. I followed the instructions and cleared wx through fsuipc. I also load Activesky before loading my flightplan in FS9. Tonight I tried a kday-kmdw. Winds at kday were 270/30 in ActiveSky, which should've given me a t/o rnwy of 24 something, instead FS atc instructed me to 6L. How do I get ActiveSky to blend with FS9 ATC instructions? FS9 seems like it gives t/o instructions based on no weather except default weather after I set FSUIPC to "clear weather". Thanks in advance.

Hi there, just wondering if anyone has succesfully combined ActiveRadar and the eDimensional 3D glasses? Whenever I activate ActiveRadar the glasses stop working (the right image becomes frozen).. I assume this has something to do with the fact the radar is running as a seperate window on top of FS2004?I'm only new to ActiveSky (just got AS2004.5), so I don't know if I've missed something, but I would dearly love to get the Radar working with the glasses..FS2004 looks too good in 3D to go without the glasses, so it looks like for now the Radar will have to go! (unfortunately)Is there any way to get the radar "inside" FS2004 (i.e. on a panel or the like?)Hoping someone c…

Just a quick note to express my satisfaction with ActiveSky.Have only had it a couple of days and so far have been impressed with the accuracy of the WX. Especially in my home town where it has been very close to accurate. It took me a little while to make up my mind to buy ActiveSky, as I thought that the price was a little high. (Canadian $:( )However, the support given here does take everything a step higher than the normal product.A satisfied customer.Mac

I don't have much luck combining the PSS Concorde with AS2004. Why might this be? The Concorde hunts around all over the sky pitchwise with AS2004 above 50,000ft and at Mach 2 but is quite stable with MS default weather. I haven't tried MS real world weather yet, but if this post developes I will post any results of trying this.John

I'm flying out of St. Louis today.National Weather Radar shows large storms to NE.I tuned on Active Radar, and there they were.Then.....a few minutes later....no returns!I'm continueing to fly toward them. See clould buildups and lightning nearby.Still no radar returns. Have "refreshed" weather several times. Weather appears accurate.Any suggestions?Glenn D. Willmot

I am running ActiveSky on a second computer on which I am running Project Magenta's CRJ software. My PM software has suddenly starting to run very jerkily, and I was wondering if ActiveSky could be causing some kind of network congestion?Just wondering and trying to figure things out ...John Whitenewburgh, in

Hi AllJust thought I would pass on to others who use Radar Contact what I have done about the long pauses which the user can incorporate into the Radar Contact Program. Those using Radar Contact can Pause FS2004 for any amount of time from minutes to days.I have found that by using this program with Active Sky that the destination weather if paused for a long period of time, generally will not match the actual weather which is being broadcast by Flightwatch. To get around this I do not generate a route via Active Sky, but simply download the weather at initial setup and once in the program the weather is updated every 10 min.The downside to this method is you will not be ab…

I got up this morning about 7 AM in Atlanta Georgia and started getting ready for a Business Trip to Chicago. Before I left I decided to fire up my ATR-72 and Active Sky and fly a very quick trip from Atlanta Airport to Dobbins AFB in Marrietta ( the place where they build the C-130, C5 and the new F22). I took off and immediately was in the soup at about 300 ft AGL. I flew the backcourse to 29 at Dobbins and broke out around 3-400 feet, and made a good landing. Now I drive to Atlanta and get on a Delta 767 after one cancelled flight and some weaather delay. Took off and 300 feet or so and we are in the soup, it looked exactly like it did when I flew my ATR a couple of h…

Hello,Following METAR for KATL:KATL 062251Z 10006KT 0SM R09R/2600V3500FT FG VV001 13/12 A3008 RMK AO2 SFC VIS 1/16 SLP185 T01280122Pretty foggy if you ask me.... in FS however with AS2004 loaded, I got a visibility of 15 miles. Temperature, wind and altimeter settings were correct. Maybe because the visibility in the above metar is 0SM? Any ideas? Thanks,Filip

Hey AS2004.5 crew,The other day I started FS9 as usual. First I select a random set from Chris Willis' excellent program, then I double click fscamera 1.4 (another excellent program) which automatically starts FS9. Once loaded at my last landed airport in a cold dark cockpit, I go into FS9's weather and select "clear skies", then into FSUIPC and click "clear all weather" and "load minimums", then I leave the window small and double click AS2004.5. I wait till the weather has finished loading, then go to full screen to tune ATC. Here is what I was wondering if these two simple (at least to me they're simple) ideas could be implemented.1. Have a toggle in AS2004.5 that woul…

Hi. Would it be possible to please check your source for weather imformation for Australia. We are currenty having a rather large thunderstorm and Active sky weather is incorrect. If i us the inbuild Microsoft weather online update it shows correct with a big bad thunder storm. I have noticed the weather seems to be the wrong time. Out by a few hours, behind it seems maybe 12 hours or so...My home Airport is YMEN or YMML.Thanks Rod....

Having a problem with comm radio 122.0 which turns on Voice Flightwatch. This frequency is also used at Campbell River (CYBL) for "tune CYBL traffic" and makes the "tune CYBL traffic" unavailable when Flightwatch is enabled.Does anyone know if there is a workaround for this conflict.I suspect that there is no solution, however thought I would ask anyway.Mac

hi guys..my first time postin on this board. Anywayz..I've had AS2004 for awhile and mostly like the updated weather but that is also my main GRIPE. For some reason every time there is visiblity less than 20 miles I get horrible visibitliy rendered, the skies are grey(even when the metar says "clear" and there is alot of haze surrounding the airport. Can someone please assist..also when movin from area to area the visibilty will drop drastically. today I was making a vitural flight out of RDU(well tryin to atleast) and AS2004 had grey skies as mentioned before and I know for a fact there was no haze, no over cast and visiblity was good..I looked right out the window of m…

I created a flight plan using FS Build and FS9. I imported both into Active Radar. Active radar updates all points in the flight plan except KCOS. The arrival weather will not show for KCOS. The active sky server pulls the weather down for KCOS when I fetch the destination weather via GUI. Any ideas? Thanks!

Hi There,Just thought I'd ask a quick question to clear up a little problem I have. This morning I took off from EHAM and the weather was quite bad in repect of visibility. On my departure I was flying mainly through cloud. At about 7,000 feet or so I broke through cloud and continued flying to London Heathrow. As a looked back towards EHAM I saw that the weather was perfectly clear and in fact no overcast at all. I've noticed this a few times were weather has changed quite dramatically. I have all the setting as per the installation guide with repect to visibility etc. I just wondered if someone out there had the perfect settings to get the weather as real as possible. I…

Have the latest AS Version with Build 147. But I have had this problem on earlier builds also, and kept hoping it would get fixed. I would like to disable ground updates as they happen always at the wrong times for me. I have selected Disable ground updates in the options but to no avail. I have checked the .ini and disable ground updates is set true.Everything else in the program works great and I am really happy with the weather I am getting in FS9.I must have something not set correctly....hoping for some help.C H Menten

HI!I know that it was treaten in other posts but i cannot read from this a direct hint for my problem. when i use active sky i experience that i,m very often maintainimng full imc conditions even in fl 250-280. being a real commercial pilot i know this may happen but at me it happens VERY often. i have disabled fs9haze in the options. am i missing something?the next question is that even when i set visibility smooth on (i have a registered fsuipc version also) the visibility changings are very hard. especially flying in upper levels i aften have full imc (simple grey screen) and un the next second full vmc, i minute later again full imc. exeptional this i find its a real …
