I just recieved the CD version of ActiveSky. I notice that it says it is for FS2002, but it has a sticker on it that says "Works in FS2004". Does this mean that I did not get an updated version like I thought I would get, and that I still have to download the 2004.5 update?

Hello.,I get this message when i try to run AS2004.5. The program seems to be running ok. I had this before with a 56k modem connection and am now running onspeed fast connection (not broadband), and the same message. Just wondered if anyone might be able to throw some light on this.CheersDan:)

I get a "Component 'msinet.ocx' or one of its depenedencies not correctly regestered: a file is missing or invalid" Run-time error '339': I did have problem with a hard drive and had it replaced. Some files have been moved and I can't find my key, or whatever it was, when I first got AS. I still have one folder that is 'ActiveSky2004' but when I click on the AS2004.exe, I get the error message. I did try to look for a new AS2004 to download but all these new releases and such have me very confused.I must say that AS worked great before my hard drive got 'stuffed'.Any help is really appreciated. I was wondering if maybe it would be a good idea if we could have someone generate a post and make it a sticky in this forum for the proper start up procedure of AS other than the info in the PDF manual? Im just thinking out loud here, and I still think, even after reading my past messages that at times I screw up what AS can do for me as far as the weather I see on a no flight plan/VFR flight or what ATIS is telling me, etc.Just thinking out loud here... thanks ;-)

I may be mistaken but I thought the ActiveSky online weather update for the destination airport also included information on active landing and departing runways. I tune to the update frequency and I get current weather information but no runway info. I like to depart VFR , (far less ATC chatter) and then switch to IFR when I get close to my destination After checking the online update.

A good addon but I have a problem when I use an airport with limited met data. At CYCL, for instance, the met report for CYCL in the upper window, Closest Station, does not include pressure altitude, most times, and often does not include cloud conditions. The only data is wind. What you see then at CYCL is a blue sky with normal pressure (29.92). This is annoying when flying to another airport as this CYCL condition will prevail until the program identifies another met station with complete information. Love the product. But something has been troubling me with my home airport. Don't seem to have this problem anywhere else. I fly out of KONT. Today, we are having a Santa Ana wind. KONT is reporting on the NWS web site winds out of the NE at 29, gusting to 45 on Nov 1 at 1150 PST. I can verify that the wind is howling outside of my house right now. It is as clear as the eye can see outside right now. You can probably see for a hundred miles. But when I fire up FS9 with activesky, it is hazy as all heck. I'm impressed an I like it.What I don't like is the delayed time in updating metars.Just a few questions....If the ASwxRE uses: http://weather.noaa.gov/weather/metar.shtmlThe metar updates are inconsistent, an takes at times hours to update. Is this the source for downloading METARS used in AS wxRE?I've came across a page that's used in reality aviation an the METARS are updated every hour OR whenever a special is relaesedfrom the METAR site. Hi!I'm having this "problem" since I have upgraded to AS 2004.5: when I load AS and hit "Refresh", it downloads data several minutes, for airports are very far from my current position in the simulator. I didn't have this problem with the older versions of AS.Otherwise it's a wonderful program, the best weather addon that's out there...I'm using AS 2004.5, FS 2004 (patched) and FSUIPC 3.40.

I use ActiveSky 1.924 with FS2002, and lately I've noticed that my altimeter has not been updating. I take off from Phoenix with the altimeter of 30.03, and the altimeter does change all the way to Tulsa. My weather changes OK, but coming into the airport, tower says it's altimeter is 30.03, but the ActiveSky is saying it's 30.15!! I've tried different versions of FSUIPC, and neither has fixed the problem. Any ideas?

I moved the Activesky folder from "D" drive to "C" drive I received the program is looking for a Simple AI, then an error block shows up with Insert CD with Simple AI looking for VBinstaller3:1.Can any one help?I moved the folder back to "D" drive and still receive the same error.

HelloIts my first time to use Active Weather for my FS2002.The version i am using is 1.92.4.Everything seems to be okay for getting the metar for my departure airport. But the winds aloft dont seem to be updated. Also when im trying to choose offline mode and "AutoDownload-Create New" there is nothing happen. When im choosing WX Briefing i only get timeout error after a while. Im using dsl and dont have any problems with my internet connection. Also i tried out to get the data with disabled Firewall. Nothing works. Does anybody had the same problems and can help me?Thank you.Michael

After work commitments over the last 2 months reduced my simming to NIL I found time today to get back to it.I have downloaded bits and pieces and followed the various threads on the AS2004.5 update. I was looking forward to a nice lazy flight with good weather depiction but I should have left well alone. AS2004 won't start, I'm frustrated and after a number of attempts - I give up.Andy b

No idea whether this is causing this, just the coincidence.I have been running FS9 for several months without any problems. Recently, the program crashes pretty much every time. After 1+ hour, the menu bar disappears. Somewhat later (usually when switching views) the program freezes.The last major updates I did before this all started was to install the FS9.1 patch and install ActiveSky2004.5. Hi guys,Here I am again. AS2004 is working beautifully in my main PC, but for some reason it doesn't download the weather in my secondary connected through Wide FS. The odd thing is any other program does download in the secondary PC like the web browser, Servinfo, and even AS wxRE. I would totally happy if I could get AS2004 work in my secondary PC. AS2004 does get connected to FS through Wide FS since it shows FS Active and shows also the nearest station, bu8t the weather is not downloaded.Is here any way I have this fixed.Thanks,Leo
