Why is the information displayed on the weather tracking mode screen not updated when the FS9 weather is updated by AS2004?I run AS2004 on a client PC and update ActiveRadar via WideFS. I have not yet created a flight plan as until now I have only flown circuits in the pattern around Orcas Island since purchasing AS2004. I have selected Online updates and the weather and surface winds are update regularly. This works just fine. The cloud and wind changes are reflected in the Radar Situation mode! However, the information displayed in the Weather Tracking mode does not change! Why is this ? Is it because a flight plan is missing? On one occasion I have reinstalled ActiveRad…

Dear all, first of all thanks for your continuing support.... On friday, when I installed Build 145, I noticed, I all of a sudden had problems with the high altitude winds, the wind in active radar and the the one shown by the plan and the simulator are different in direction and velocity, additionally I have a lot of unexpected wind changes.. on the other hand the visuals are really great now...I would say hardly to improve. Any Idea what went wrong? I have an unregistered Version of FSUIPC, version 3.40Thanks in advance Kurt /AS2004.5 configuration file Build 145[General]WindowPosX = 4860WindowPosY = 2580DefaultWeatherFolder = C:Archivos de programaMicrosoft GamesFlight…

Hi All,I am new to the ActiveSky sw and what I already saw of it make me asking why I didn't know about it sooner !Having red the user manual, I came across some METAR and TAF reports and noticed you make reference to "the Aviation Weather Guide" for decoding this information. Where can I find this guide ? Thanks for your assistance.Serge.

When I import a flight plan that I created using the FS2004 Flight Planner into the ActiveSky (by clicking on New Route-Import Plan), why does it say Older Flight Plan, converting to FS2004 format? Thanks.

Hi everyone,I'm probably doing something really stupid, but I can't get AS 2004.5 Build 142 to pick up VATSIM METARs ...At the moment, according to VS, the METAR for EGKK isEGKK 170920Z 27009KT 9999 SCT012 09/08 Q1001AS2004 is reporting it asEGKK 170950Z 28010KT 9999 SCT012 BKN018 09/08 Q1001Fair enough, not majorly out at the moment, but I haven't yet seen 1 instance of a matching set of METARs.I currently do things in the following order ...Build flight plan in FSBuild2 and export to FS2004Start FSStart AS (through WideFS)Import flight plan + processAS2004.ini below://AS2004.5 configuration file Build 142[General]WindowPosX = 9645WindowPosY = 10740DefaultWeatherFolder =…

After lurking in this forum for the last month after purchasing activesky (great program by the way), something puzzled me. I set my default flight for sydney at the correct time, but I changed the location to Heathrow for the same time, downloaded the weather and I had weather for Heathrow but Heathrow is 10 hours behind me, yet I had weather for the location and time. In other words, it appears Activesky had predicted the weather. Does the program predict weather or am I missing something?Goran

Hi All Just got on AVSIM appears that they may have also had a server problem.Tried AS2004.5 later last night and all appears to be working as advertised, no Error message, and Weather uploaded quickly. One part of weather program which appears to take some time is the writing airport data.Is there anyway that we can reduce the radius that various weather stations are selected.Example, I was flying to Hamilton from Cleveland and had to wait for Detroit Metro to write to FS2004.This is rather minor, just inquiring if there is a way to reduce the number of stations.Other then that everything appears to be working just fine.Kenny G.

8 to 10 times i came up with "Invalid weather file folder.. Please set a valid folder before continuing" message. Does anybody know what is wrong with this, or what is the source of this message.

I noticed today that updates of the data is slow.I mean:it's 1603Z and i have the activewx 1350Z!Now i think an hour is acceptable, but 3h13m is a bit too much when both vatsim and ivao have current weather...Since i am at it: why there isn't the possibility to use IVAO weather together with VATSIM weather?

Hi EveryoneJust upgraded to 2004.5 last night and when loading the weather, I am receiving an "ERROR DUE TO COMPRESSION" message. When I click onto this box the program then will update the weather. One other problem I am presently in Cleveland it is 11:00 EDT and we are -4 Hrs behind Universal time but the weather indicates 1505055Z.I have refreshed the weather several times with the same results.Any assistance would be helpfull, possibly I do not have the preferences set properly.Tks. for any assistance.Kenny G.

Hello again! :-wave I have aircraft shadows active in flightsim. I like the visual effect and the added sense of height when landing in replay. :-lol It is known that shadows take away some FPS. Besides this, these shadows always appear, even in bad weather. Bad weather means a lot of clouds. Clouds again cost FPS. Both of them at the same time take even more FPS. Therefor my question: is it possible to let AS2004 disable the shadows in 'bad' weather conditions? I see two advantages:- First of all, this would add to realism. It's always strange to see shadows (also of the AI planes) when there is no sun nor bright light at all.- Second, aspecially in bad weather FPS can b…

Hi Everyone,Per some users requests here is my statement about the FS04 patch and any of our products. This is my statement only.1. The functioning of any Active Sky program, feature, or option has not been affected by the FS04 Update.2. There are enough posts on any General FS Forum about the pros and the cons of the Update. Everyone's machine and software is different, and I will not suggest what individual users should do.3. If, in the future, new information is discovered, one of us will update everyone.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

Please see this topic I entered today in the FSUIPC forum and Pete replied.Without repeating the details, I asked if an external weather app could force an AI reload once the weather writes were complete on the intial refresh. This has two purposes:AI that started before the weather writes were complete will be removed so they restart taxiing to the correct runways for the new weather conditions and the same applies for the arrivals going to the correct runway. This has been a noted problem. He did not respond to the second topic allowing either a caution being displayed or posible sim pause until the writes are complete before the pilot starts pretakeoff nav procedures to…

I have noticed in the past, and it is now happening with increasing regularity, that after launching AS2004, it retrieves the weather ok, but takes an absolute age to write to FS and FSUIPC. I have timed it now, and it takes on average 1 minute to 1 minute 15 secs for the data to be written. Similarly, when importing a flight plan, it takes over a minute to process it through the weather engine. Is this normal? Or are my settings wrong. It wasn't always this way. Could it be to do with any aircraft add-on?ThanksPaul

I just purchased AS2004 at 7PM EST from Sim Market here it is almost 1 AM and in my account it still says my order is processing. Bank reflects the money has left my account.I purchased a direct download option, what gives? Not very direct, instant etc

Just wanted to thank you guys at Active Sky for making my flights memorable with AS2004. I don't have a fancy system, but these skies have given me some great times in the virtual sky. Notice what seems to be fog patches over the lakes in the first pic. I flew right through these fog patches (second pic was just before I flew through them, didn't think the pic once inside would be that great) and was quite pleased when I didn't just break through a thin layer, but rather wisped through with near zero visibility till I broke back out, just like a real fog patch. The third pic is just an outside view that I thought was quite nice. I know many of you may have better pics, wi…

Hi everyone,There is one last visibility issue that I am hoping to iron out before releasing the new beta. This is the issue where visibility can drop to "0" either in flight or on the ground. In either case, clearing all wx and refreshing AS will reset the condition, but it may appear again. 4 users have reported such problems.Although I have enhanced the code a bit to prevent possible vis dropping, I am still unable to duplicate the error situation as reported (with B142) so that I can confirm that my fixes are working appropriately and that all issues are indeed solved. With B142, I am hoping those who have experienced such problems can help me duplicate. We need to…

Hi, there. I've had ActiveSky for quite a while, but I've just now started using it again since I finally have a computer that can put a few clouds in the sky without bringing the fps to a shuddering halt.I have a question about how people typically deal with the initial loading of AS weather in FS9. Once I get my flight set-up and I'm on the tarmac, I will use FSUIPC to clear the weather, and then ALT-TAB out to refresh activesky. A couple of questions, though:Is there a way to bring ATC up-to-date on the new wind conditions?Do I need to clear the weather using FSUPIC if I am creating a flight that already has "clear skies" set?The manual warns against FS9 being paused d…

Just wondering why things do this. I am climbing out in SOLID, non broken overcast layer. I pop through the top and use external view and look behind me to see maybe a scattered layer or maybe broken. But you definatey can see lots of ground. I shouldn't be able to see the ground should I?Thx,Jack
