Over the weekend I installed MS XP Service Pack2. Since then, every time I press CTRL + PF12 to open the Active Radar window, I get an "open file" box as well! Has anybody else noticed this? Can I can change the AR key assignment? I can open it via the top screen menu in FS but I can't close it via that method as AR prevents the other keys from working.

Hi everyone! I have used AS2004 since early this spring and have had no problems what so ever with the program to include the Beta updates until recently. I have begun to experience a general FS9 crash whenever AS2004 completes its initial weather download. I have uninstalled the entire program to incude all beta updates, and reinstalled to only experience the same problem time and time again. I have incuded a copy of the .ini file from within the AS2004 modules folder. Hi All,When ever I try and use AS2004 with the SCDS YAK40, it causes the engine gauges to read wrong.Now, I am not sure if its an AS issue or a SCDS issue, but the YAK works fine without AS, but as soon as I use AS it get problems.I am using the latest build for AS.Any ideas?CheersDan.

Is there a way to create our own sky conditions, then have AS2004 render them? In other words something like the 'advanced' bit in FS itself, where you specify everything, then the program builds it. I would like to basically have AS render the weather, but have ME decide what that weather is at our local airport.

I try to fly "real time" (i.e. if a flight leaves at 5pm in real life I try to leave at 5pm in FS) but lately have not been able to do so due to time constraints. The downloadable weather of AS makes a perfect solution because now I can have accurate weather whereas before if I flew at night in real life I would get night time weather (cooler temps, etc) but flying in the day.My question is how to use the TAF features in AS? If I download archive weather into AS and read the METAR for my destination it does not seem to change from when I take off to when I arrive. Does that mean the weather at my destination does not change, (i.e. if I take a 8hr flight to my destinati…

Can anyone tell me if there is a way for AS to add in light - moderate turbulence that is not noted in standard METAR reports? My one ride in a real Cessna 172SP was on a clear, non-windy day but it was non-stop teeth-chattering light-moderate ground effect turbulence at 3000 feet. It would be great to be able to add this in. The default FS9 turbulence effects seem quite accurate but have to be turned off to allow for AS control. I've also noted a lack of turbulence on windy days. I just flew in what AS called 16 knot winds with gusts to 24 knots (Ivan remnants) in the default 172 and didn't have any bumps! Hi Folks,Having heard great things about AS, I have purchased the software but am unable to install it. My problem is that when attempting to install I reveive an error "Error 1327.Invalid Drive D:"I used to have a second harddrive D: which was used for My Documents and as a scratch disk for Photoshop. It died some time ago and I never replaced it. I just returned My Documents to its default location. I guess the installer is finding reference to the missing drive.I know this is almost certainly a problem with my computer, rather than the installer/software, but any pointers would be very gratefully received.Many thanks,Damien

Hi all,Apologies if this has been covered before but I couldnt find any results.I have been testing Realityxp wx500 with AS2004 but what I see on the radar screen is not what I see outside the aircraft. Hi GuysI have been flying the PMDG 737NG with the new AS build and latest dll's using WideFS. I came across a few odities with the NG.1. It is necessary to run activeconnector2 each time for AR to connect properly to AS. This problem only occurs if the PMDG 737NG is set as the the default startup aircraft. If the cessna 182 is loaded first weather set then load the NG everything is ok.I dont see this as a big problem to NG drivers as I usually start up this way due to the lack of a main avionics switch on the NG. 1a When the PMDG 737NG is loaded as the default a/c the AR does display a correct wind direction and speed-1 but no cloud returns as nearest station is still …

Hello Damian and Jim!Using the weather file 2004.09.15, 20Z at Kelowna airport (CYLW) I got the following problem (AS2004 4.5, FSUIPC 3.317). CYLW METAR states wind 360 at 4 (36004KT), but the wind which is sent to FS is 36T (True) instead of 360T. After I found this problem I start testing this with FS2004 New Weather Utility from Peter Dowson. (Flight Watch on 122.0 reports the same winds like this utility.) Hi All:)When using FS9 with FS2004 Active Sky and the most recent FSUIPC installation, and there are heavy clouds in the area and winds, I am getting fluctuations between 01 knots and whatever the prevailing winds are.This is happening when I have the Taxi Winds activated which should reduce the wind speed to 01 Knots which makes it a heck of a lot easier to land and take off when you are not using pedals.When using FS2002 with Active Weather 1.92 and with Taxi Winds activated I do not get the fluctuation which occurs with FS9.Any help would be appreciated.Kenny G.

But...I ask anyway, sorry for that.I would like to know how to exactly reproduce the weather at a given date and time. Let's say I want to re-live hurricane Ivan on Sep13 or so. What I do now is (down)load the archived weather. AS2004 then disables online updates. I then change the option to use flightsim time and not the pc time. Finaly I set date and time (Zulu time) in flightsim accordingly. This should be sufficient, shouldn't it? However, I have the impression that the weather is not always completely reproduced. Early Sunday afternoon Damian sent me an e-mail giving me a few details about his status, and he asked me to share them with all of you. Earlier this week, part of his immediate family got caught up in hurricane Ivan, while they were on the island of Jamaica. Since Thursday he had no word of their condition. It was only this morning that he got word that they are OK. The eyewall missed them by about 10 miles to the south, which destroyed everything in its path. I seem to have the visibilty of 10.56SM showing on the tracker whilst flying in the UK and does not change as the weather changes, this does not happen whilst over the U.S. I have registered version of fsuipc set as default settings, and the max visibilty under the Active sky 2004 set to 30 miles. Is the visibilty shown on the tracker, what is at the reporting staion, perhaps this is what is confusing me, although I have moved about the UK and it does not seem to change.Perhaps I have something set wrong somewhere, but can't seem to sort this out, can anyone help out please. Greetings All,I've just recently been using ActiveSky and have a question I was unable to find in the instructions.At some airports and reporting points I get KSEA(Dynamic) then the information. What does the (Dynamic) mean? I also noticed that the weather seems inacurate when it says that.Can anyone help.Thanks very much.Brian

Is there anyway you can load your flight plan, prior to doing the first fetch. I have AS 2004 in Pause Mode when it starts and would really like to enter all the Flight Plan (import) and have AS 2004 do the writing to FS just once for the whole route.Right now it appears like I need to do the first fetch and then a second one when I import my plan.Any ideas?Great weather program!Barry

to enhance the reality i would really like to know how to get a thick cloud layer displayed both below and above??i have never in the real world experienced that i takeoff from an airport with full overcloud and when i fly throu the thick layer and get above i can suddenly see the ground and the only cloudslayer below i a thin haze????can't this be fixed??activeSky can easely make a single cloud NOT seethrou but when i comes to a thick rainy cloud layer i can't???i really hope i got a solve for me...Thanks for a GREAT program, besides the problem above...
