Damien,I'm trying to test the various combinations of FS9 haze depiction and visibility smoothing. I turned off "Online Update". Yet, each time I make a change to my options and "SAVE" - I go into REFRESH mode as if I have ONLINE UPDATES enabled. If online updates are disabled, then option changes should not force an online update.BTW: it makes testing difficult because I am experiencing consistent 4-5 minutes for the weather station updates to complete.Thanks.-michael

couldn't agree with you guys more about the quality and here is a pcik..decide for yourself....However, and this is certainly not a complaint, I have noticed using thse two programs together, has started to crash my PC sometimes an hour or two into a flight. It MIGHT be something unrelated so please read with Caution. if anyone else has experinced this problem with the combination above, please share it with us. What happens is FS2004 jut simple disappears as though it were never running in the first place. It happened last night, very frustraing on final, after a two hour real time flight!Regards Paulhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/88496.jpg

Hi Jim and Damian,we already wrote each other about the "P" modifier instead of "+".I found this different modifier used not only in Italy but also in UK (see, for example, the EGLL TAF of today, Aug.20th, valid from 10 to 19Z).I remeber that maybe also in Germany it is udes. So, if you could put the possibility of AS2004 to read correctly this modifier too in the next release, it should be nice.Another question: how does AS2004 represent the TCU clouds ? Just as cumulus with a major vertical profile or as CBs ?Thanks.

Hi I hope this doesn't sound silly but should FSUIPC stay within the as2004 folder in the modules folder or be outside the as2004 but still in the module folder. I have one version of FSUIPC inside the modules folder and another version inside the as2004 folder. Could there be a conflict? I don't have any expertise in the arearegards Rob

Hi,Iam a new user, but am having some problems. In heavy cloud my fpsis going from 29 to 1 and even to the point of freezing. Last nightI was flying into KORD, and this happened. I exited FS2004 and thenrestarted it with the previous flight selection, then my fps were backto 10-15. Weather was saved, so I reloaded into AS and the moment Iturned it on my sim froze. I have unchecked render to texture and have installed MR1. The only 3rd party addon as far as weather is,FS9skytx.zip for sky texture. Hello,I am deseperately searching for a cloud texture representative of CB as we all know it should look like. I have sometimes CB very big, but mainly they look like cumunuls.I have since a long time the alternative cloud pack, but with the level of realism we have today, if any one of you could give me direction, I would highly appreciate. All the best.Cyrille de LattreAsus P4P800/P4 2.4 giga/1.5 giga DDR/Ati 9700 pro 128 meg

Hi!I don't know if it's just me, but Build 140 seems to report altitudes lower than previous builds, even up in the levels.Right now I am in the PMDG 737 en route from Norway to London via Scotland, FMC and MCP are set to FL 361, while FS9 (SHIFT-Z) reports me at 35731 ft, I recall FS reporting pretty much exactly the FL with earlier builds. Also Altitude reported by FS fluctuates, even though my VS needle stays pegged at 0 with the AP flying. It almost looks as if AS is extending the reported 1002 hpa (29.59 in) upwards to the levels. In any case I'm getting yelled at a lot by FS ATC for being below my assigned altitude, something that never happend with previous builds.I…

Hello and thanks in advance for any help. The problem I have is that since downloading the new update I get this messageONE OR MORE PROGRAMS YOU ARE USING IS NOT ACCREDITED FOR ACCESS TO AN UNREGISTERED COPY OF FSUIPC.PLEASE SEE FSUIPC.LOG FOR DETAILS.When I look at the log it has an error message what appears to be due to activeradar and possible a pmdg gauge. The question is what to do next?I notice in the modules folder there one version of FSUIPC and within the as2004 folder there id another could this be the problem?regards Rob

Hello everybody,I think I need some help here .... ;-)I have installed the base pack of AS2004 and in General in worked fine, I mean the Weather were correct and ActiveRadar did display the weather situation. As I had some problems with some aircrafts (payware) I installed the Maintenance pack 1, with the hope to get the issues (turbulances, 0 TAS, etc) solved. After installing the Maintenance pack, ActiveSky run smoothly and the issues with the airplanes were solved, but another issue popped up..... My ActiveRadar is BLACK.... no display of the weather situation... I place a question already in a German Forum and someone gave me the tip to install the BETA version... wh…

Someone mentioned cloud sets by 'Chris Willis' when referring to ActiveSky in the PMDG Support Forum?I didn't know it was possible to change the clouds, and are standards clouds you see when using ActiveSky part of ActiveSky or part of FS?If it's possible to change clouds, is it worth it, do you have any recommendations and where do you get them from??Any help much appreciated

Should render to texture be ON or OFF when using ActiveSky??

Would just like to continue with the updates. I have been noting other users comments but can't say I have encountered the problems reported by other beta 140 users. I will check out the post relating to altitude problem and the difference reported by the 'Z' key option in FS.Weather engine results..stunning.RegardsPaul

Hi Damian and Jim,Am happy with the great progress in the new releases. Yesterday updated to build 140. Have flew for 4 hours (or so) and all went OK. Good visibility and wind transition and good overcast skies (viewed from the spot plane). Congratulations!Have a little problem with METAR of SACO airport. From day 05-AUG-04, I get only TAF for this airport. I know you can do something with this. Thanks for your great support.Regards.Dirk Trotteyn (SANT)

Hi StaffJust wanted to report that, so far, build 140 is performing pretty near faultlessly for me, as far as I can tell. Just had my second flight today of about 1 hour duration and everything worked glitch free. The only thing I have noticed is that it seems to be take much longer "Writing station data ..." when I first fire it up. This doesn't really affect me too much because while it's doing that I have plenty of other things to be getting on with but I did notice, when I checked out what data it was writing, that some of the stations were up to 250nm away. Is this the same as before?Paul Croft10 miles SE of EGLL

Just upgraded from the b132 patch to the new b140- and am happy to report that the direct wind control wind jumping has gone away! So far I do not see any wind jumps at all, but sometimes I forget to closely monitor the wind gauge...Anyways my question had to do with the visibility smoothing function. Previously, I disabled all vis smoothing in AS2004 and had it all set in FSUIPC. starting from 10,000-15000ft it would gradually change from the set vis to 60miles max. So whilst cruising at FL350, etc. the vis was 60 miles. When I installed the b140 patch I disabled all the visibility smoothing in FSUIPC and set it all via AS2004. Had Vis smoothing enabled plus enforce …

I've been using AS2004 very happily for a while now, without any problems. However, since installing the new AS2004.5 update, whenever I try to run AS, all I get is the message "internet connection unstable... retrying..." All other programs are connecting without any problem, through a high speed connection.I've tried re-downloading and installing, making sure FSUIPC is there, etc. but it stubbornly won't connect. It does connect with FS, as the airport and nearest reporting station are listed.I have the feeling this is something on my end, but I don't know where to look exactly.Hope someone can help! Thanks,Mike F.2.4GHZ, 1G DDR ram, ATI 9800 Pro

Does this program use any type of hardware-binding anti-piracy protection? How is it reinstalled? I do frequent reformats and reinstalls and I need to be sure that I'm not going to run into a problem with some sort of limited-reinstall policy. Thanks - DougEdited 'cause I can't spel

Once again, thanks for the great product and support! I have a question that I think has been asked in the forum but I have not completely understood the responses:When I dial in an ATIS/AWOS frequency the report never seems to exactly match the Actual weather by Active Sky as reported by Sky Watch for the same facility. The times, clouds, ceilings and temps are all just a little (or a lot) different. I always use system time, I don't have TAF processing marked and I don't have FS weather download checked on. So where is FS getting it's data for ATIS/AWOS? It would be really realistic if ATIS/AWOS reports really matched up with what AS was producing! Then we could …

Hello,Is the rainfall display shown in ActiveRadar based on real radar information, or is it based on surface reporting station information? Is the information accurate for the whole world or only parts?
