Hi,Just wondering what the default cloud layer limit setting is with the latest AS build. I have 5 but I keep seeing posts with 10. Also in fsuipc 3.30, do you have to select wind smoothing in the program(fsuipc)?Thank-You

After being a long time FSMeteo user, I have sucummbed to the recent promotional pricing for AS2004 - mainy out of curiosity and not because of any significant disatisfaction with FSMeteo. AS2004 is an interesting attempt at providing a real weather solution and the developers are to be commended for their ongoing commitment to further enhance the product. However my initial impression is that you can't in any simple way install AS2004 with the default settings, go to your favourite airport and necessarily get weather that approximates current real world conditions. For example the weather on the south east coast of Australia at the moment is very clear with unlimited …

Hi! Jim or Damian:I screwed up in installing the new 115 update, I'm using Wideserver and instead of installing the ActiveRadar to the K:INSTALLDIR, I cancelled because I don't use it.I removed the Active Radar thinking that would solve the issue, but instead when I run AS2004 I get:Runtime error 372, "chilkaZIP from ChilkaZip.dll" missing (or close to that).I removed the last 1.2 upgrade and AS2004 subsequently brings up the same error. What's next? ;-)Ron McLeod - CYEG

Hello,I have Activesky set up nicely on my computer and have made many successful flights with this addon. Tonight, however, I encountered heavy clouds and my frame rates shot down to 5. I was wondering if you had any suggestions on things I can change to help with the framerates. It works good in pretty much every situation except for heavy clouds. Thanks for the help.I already have the FSW FPS pack. Hi Damian and Jim,I got three times in a row the same small problem.Sometimes after takeoff (abot 3 to 5 minutes) and only with the active radar ON, suddenly the IAS on the PMDG 737NG goes to zero, then goes back to normal about 30 to 45 s later.I flew with the offline archives date 01JUL 12Z and 18Z.For the rest all was fine, winds, temperatures, clouds and weather.I flew KABQ-KDEN and KDEN-KJAC and back.I'm using the MR1 update. Thanks for any suggestion.

Dear SupportBeing a long time user of ActiveSky WXre in FS2002 and a user of WideFS, I have recently purchased AS2004 for FS9. I have kept up with all the post in this forum concerning AS2004 and WideFS, to include the Active Radar installation issues with WideFS. However, there has been so many varied ways that people have got the whole AS2004 program to work properly with WideFS that I can't make heads or tails out of all the different install procedures that have been posted. In short, is there any way possible that Damien or Jim could post a current step by step installation procedure for AS2004 and WideFS? Just a simple Text document would be very helpful, Since Dec …

As I indicated in an earlier post I don't mind if AS2004 isn't 100% as in real life but I would like weather to behave realistically which is why this example taken from a recent flight from KSEA falls short of the mark. The first attachment is a sceenshot over Seattle at 3453 feet but when I climb to 4256 feet the haze magically disappears as seen in the second screenshot. At the time AS2004 was reporting the following weather:KSEA 050756Z 02010KT 6SM HZ CLR 16/11 A3014 RMK AO2 SLP205 T01560111KSEA 050528Z 050606 VRB05KT P6SM SCT040 TEMPO 0912 BKN030 FM1200 VRB04KT P6SM BKN027 FM1700 24004KT P6SM SCT035 FM2200 29007KT P6SM SCT040For compariason I loaded FSmeteo weathe…

Hi,I'm running AS2004 on wideFS, and I often find myself having to go hunt for the flight plan folder on the remote FS9 box via a network connected drive. The "import" flight plan dialog box does not appear to remember the previous folder/path that was used. I would like to put in a request for the dialog box to save the last used path, so that the subsequent FP import doesn't force the user to drill down to the folder. The default is the default FS folder under "my documents" where the flight plans are stored, which is not a problem of course when AS2004 runs on the same PC as FS9. However, on wideFS, the situation can be different.Minor "convenience" feature. Thanks …

I like ActiveSky, especially for route smoothing! Prior to Activesky the FS9 wind shifts were consistently brutal and more frequently than not would result in the a-floor death spiral in the PSS Airbus fleet. Now I am experiencing a small problem with wind speed/direction updates while on short final on just about every flight. They consistently throw the various PSS A3XX aircraft off centerline and typically result on an off-runway landing :(I have AS2004 configured to supress weather updates below 3000 feet but wind speed/dir invariably change right when I don't need them to on short final (500-200 feet above the threshold). All the airports I'm landing at are below 1…

Everytime I get weather it's always old data. I have Online updates on, it updates time intervals correctly, however, it always gives me the wrong data. It used to give me data that was about 13 hours off (give me 05 instead of 18) I went to Download and entered 2004/7/4/19 and it gave a message saying the 18z weather was loaded. However, it still says active mx: 041750z. NOAA gives an 1850z METAR. I've tried on multiple airports and they all give the same "off by one" problem.

I don't understand this. I started a flight and in FS I had to changethe time a couple of ours to get to my real local time which was 17:50. Then when AS downloaded realtime weather it said ESMT 041620Z, the day is correct but the time seems two hours to old. Active wx said 041650Z. I have set SYSTEM TIME in FS and my computerclock is going according to my real local time.

Hello,Lately I've noticed that I'm not getting precipatation even though there are thunderstorms around, I'm under the clouds. Sometimes I do get precip though so maybe they are dry thunderstorms? Also, is the activeradar module required for activesky to work properly? I removed it since I use the reality XP radar and the key commands for Activeradar were interfering with some other addon modules. Anyways all I need to know is if the Activeradar module is required for activesky to work properly, such as positioning precipitation or not. Thanks,

Hello All,...from a new AS2004 user :-)I tried to download the archived WX for yesterday 2004-07-02 12Z, but got the message that "The weather for the specified date range was not found." (May be later?)Not a big deal as such, but I have a general question: Is it possible to find out which archived WX files are actually available on the server? As it is now, my only option seems to be to go through all possible "adjacent" hours (and then perhaps even all "adjacent" days!), and attempt a download for each one separately, until I finally hit the available file "nearest" (in time) to the one I actually wanted. So it would be nice to have some List function telling me what is …

Hi all,Is the 1900 compatible with AS? After about 5 minutes, the aircraft becomes uncontrollable. No problem with weather downloaded thru FS9 (Jeppesen). Thanks,Mark

When using s previously downloaded archive file (no on-line updates), and the sim time exceeds the TAF period (or preceeds the METAR/TAF time), how does AS deal with this? Does it force all times prior to METAR/TAF time to the METAR wx, adnd use the last TAF period for times that are beyond the TAF period? Thanks,Bruce.
