Hi,Just as I wanted to try out landing the PSS A340 in a typhoon here in Hong Kong (winds at 340 at 20KT, temporarily at 35KT gusting to 45KT), the winds aloft data has gone haywire! All winds at all stations seem to be at 225/0 and temperatures of -273.0C.I believe this is a data problem on the server side. Any chance we'll have it fixed soon? Many thanks for your insights!Edwin

Hi everyone,Over the past week we have been privately testing with some new test FSUIPC builds. We have managed to solve almost all of the noted problems, however we are still working on one last FSUIPC issue.Due to Pete's current condition (recoverying from multiple eye surgeries), things are going to be a bit delayed before certain issues are solved, confirmed, tested and released as a new FSUIPC version. Pete estimates a couple weeks, but it could take longer. We are wishing him the best and encouraging him to rest and take his time on recovery. If you'd like to drop a note to Pete, please visit his forum at http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html.Until the new FSUIPC …

hi, i have active sky 2002 WeRE and when first attempting to download weather I get a message saying error or timeout downloading cycle.I think this is due to my slow connection to the internet (56K) because it takes some time. Where can I change the time until the program says error in downloading?PS: this is really annoying, did nobody test the prog with a slower connection? or is it a different problem?thanks in advance for any help

I read It's not possible to import as2004 windsdata into fsbuild2.1 .Is it still possible to import fsbuild flightplans into as2004 to calculate the route's winds?by the way is there a way to import winds data into fsnav 4.6 instead?in fact I'm considering whether to buy fsnav or fsbuild.thanksLuca

Just got ActiveSky and installed it. The manual says the flickering screen is a known issue, that happens on some older systems, and to uncheck "Render to Textures" in FS Display settings to solve it.Two things, tho: First of all, my system is not that old, and my graphics card is six months old. My 2MHz system seems to be well beyond what they recommend as the min. (I know they aim low, but still, 800MHz vs. 2GHz...)Second, if I uncheck the "Render to Textures" box, I cannot load up my game. It crashes every time.Anyone else have a solution? Would appreciate any feedback.John

Hi,I have the latest AS2004 MR2 B115 maintenance release and am experiencing wind shifts at high level, enough to give the aircraft overspeed warnings one minute, then the speed would drop below normal cruise speed and I get fuel warnings from the PMDG 737 FMC.According to the wind gauge, the wind direction and speed changed very little, but the speed tape gave me the impression that I had tailwind one second then headwind the next.I have seen numerous other threads relating to issues of this nature, and I thought the wind smoothing function in the new version of FSUIPC and AS2004 would stop this!!I have had these in the past, but only once or twice per trip, not as was t…

Hello Gang!Is MR B117 out or did I miss it? I think I read several days ago that it would be ready in 24 Hrs. and that the thread regarding MR B115 would be locked and a new one started, but I have not seen a new thread regarding MR B117. Not complaining here at all, but I just want to make sure that it didn't go un-noticed.Thanks for any info.Sincerely,Dennis D. Mullert

Good day,Just want to clarify if I'm seeing the standard AS2004 behaviour with clouds. When flying from one weather station coverage area to another and the weather changes when the new station reports the Cumulus clouds I am seeing the cloud build-up, like it is being painted on the sky.It gives the impression of cloud textures being added at a very high rate - dunno if my desription is clear enough. Is it normal with the smooth transition function? Thanks for clarification.Dom

Jim , is there any way to turn down the volume on flightwatch radio . i know since build 115 it was increased by 25% but im finding it a little to loud . Perhaps it would be a good idea if we could be allowed to manually configure - just a thought Regards Rob

I am not much of a tweaker, so I can't help but thinking I am missing some great features of AS2004 (using MR2 build 115) in conjunction with a registered version of FSUIPC. I still get rapid cloud transitions, not smooth ones.So my question is plain and simple: can someone (or someones) please post their AS2004 and FSUIPC ini files, for me to compare. If you're satisfied with how it works on your computer and you have similar specs as mine (posted below), please let me know.PentiumIV 3,2Ghz (running at 3,5 Ghz)1024 MB RAMAti Radeon 9800XTFSUIPC (registered)AS2004 configuration file[General]WindowPosX = 4125WindowPosY = 4995DefaultWeatherFolder = F:Flight Simulator 9Module…

Must I completely uninstall the ActiveSky, then reinstall with the new update or can I just "overwrite" the current files?

A quick problem with this otherwise fantastic add-on. It seems that when I load the program via Ctrl-F11, my active camera functionality in the VC is turned off. Each time I have to go back into the active camera menu and turn on the Internal panning (I don't remember the exact name of the menu item, but its on the main menu). Anyone else having this problem? Thanks!

Hello there!I bought AS2004 last week and finally had a chance to try it. I use AS2004 v1.1, FSUIPC v.3.22. Here are several questions I got from the first test flights.1. Temperatures aloft and Windows regional settings. I use German version of Windows XP Home, and the native regional setting are

The following problem started yesterday after installing AV Tuner 1.3.3.0 and the MR2 BETA of AS. First of all this is happening only when I am connected to VATSIM with FS, any other time the computer is in the net nothing happens.Norton mail scanner pops up and seems to check send mails all the time. Mails which I have never written. Also my mailer is closed during flight time. All this behaviour looks like a virus BUT. Scaned the PC with 3 different virus program and with 2 different SPYWARE removal programs and found nothing plus the fact that this happens only with FS connected to the net. I was wondering if there something wrong with the lates release. Anyone else h…

Hello, as long as i am waiting for my brandnew Licence (purchased via Simflight) i would like to ask some questions:1. Is there a way to configure Active Sky to automatically load without intervention before use? Can i load it with Windows Autostart to prevent manually startup of the program?2. Are there recommended settings for use with VATSIM (i.e. is the VATSIM weather the same then the original weather?)Kind regards (and look forward to use the great add-on)Michael

Hi everyone! We have released FSBrowser v1.0, which is a complete FREEWARE web-browsing utility for use with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2002 or 2004.Many users have been using the Kneeboard in FS to get web browsing functionality, which works good, but FSBrowser does all this and much more in a very easy-to-use package, complete with favorites, multiple browser windows, and much more. The file should be available in the AVSIM libraries soon (FSBrowser10.zip), OR, get it from our site at http://www.hifisim.com.Enjoy!

The new update works fantastically. Congratulations guys.Would you mind clearing up a few points for me though.1. I always fly online. I presume that to gain the VATSIM METAR's for departure and destination airports, I still have to process a route. Can this route consist of just the departure and arrival airports, plus the alternate? 2. Would such a route have a detrimental effect, such as causing cloud pop-ups, because AS doesn't know which direction I'm going? (I have my cloud draw distance set lower than my local range suppression distance)3. If I don't process a route, are the winds aloft I experience more up to date than if I do?Cheers.Bruce.

Greetings,I have encountered a serious problem over the last few days. While setting up flights, my FS2004 would suddenly shutdown. I figured it could be some minor bug that sometimes happen. After several of this instances last night, I started to see if there was a pattern. And there is! Whenever FS2004 loads weather, it shut's down. Either when using any regular weather setup inside FS2004, or when ActiveSky is processing the weather to MSFS. I have tried the updated version of ActiveSky and the beta of MR2.The only way I can fly is when selecting "clear sky" setup. This is a new problem, since ActiveSky used to work fine. All help will be greatly appreciated!

Do never-ending updates of the paid version of FSUIPC (now 3.3 released) help us in terms of making AS working better, faster?Just wondering.Thanks.

Using MR2-115 (latest until next day or so, right?):Here's what I experienced that will either confuse or clarify an issue:METAR had a BKN layer at 700 AGL and OC at 2500. I do not have the option for ground locking weather enabled.Sitting parked at a nice "open" GA airport, after the refresh and update completed:1. Precip kicked in.2. BKN appeared nicely with O/C behind in upper layer3. BKN disappeared leaving just O/C or O/C had priority over the earlier created BKN.I was running the Reality-XP WX500 radar. Even after the BKN disappeared, the radar showed just about the same concentrated areas of precip. So my comment is:Is it necessary for the cloud layers to be fed in …

Hi Actitivesky guys,I'm having a tough time getting my destination winds to stabilize when I'm in my arrival terminal area and was wondering if anyone can offer any advice. Specificially what's happening is my destination terminal winds don't seem to reconcile with the reported surface winds on the Flightwatch feature. For example, on a final approach I will experience crosswinds, variable shifts, tailwinds, ect. It's as if there are erratic gust conditions on every approach I make no matter what airport I'm at.I'm currently running the latest MR2 beta with FSUPIC 3.30 (unregistered) but I have been experiencing destination winds flucuations with the MR1 release …

When flying into an area with turbulence, what's the likelihood of finding smoother air at a higher cruise altitude? In other words, when AS2004 generates these areas do they only span a few thousand feet, or many thousands of feet, in which case trying to climb out it would be pointless? In the past I pretty much gutted it out at the filed altitude to take advantage of AS2004 wind smooting. Now that this has been eliminated by FSUIPC, I see altitude changes as a now viable option. I had avoided planning on step climbs during longer flights for the same reason.Mark Kuebeler
