Hey Jim,Everything is going swimmingly since the update. One question though..in the upper right hand area of the main interface where is says... Active wx: XXXXXXOn my computer this number never changes. According to the manual, it's supposed to be the 'reporting time for the weather data file in use.' Mine always says 120150ZIs this correct? Thanks,Mark

I am having major drama trying to get FSBuild to apply the winds aloft data to the flight plans I'm building through it. It seems to apply the wind perfectly at my origin, and often at the destination, but never en-route.I have tried all sorts of permutations of settings to get it to work but I don't know whether it's an ActiveSky thing or an FSbuild thing. Either way, perhaps there's somebody here who has had the same problem.I'm using ActiveSky wxRE v1.92.4. The winds aloft appear to be fine during the briefings. I've tried importing the winds into FSBuild with all combinations of FSB/AS/FS2002 running. And using offline/online modes. As for FSBuild, I'm using v2.1.…

Dear Members, Can anyone pls send me or post the Fsuipc settings...so that I will make sure that Active Sky(fs9) is giving me the real and latest Data into Fs9!Regards,

One of the main reasons that I bought Activesky wxre was the promise of smooth cloud transitions. Well, I'm getting none of that. I think it's actually worse now than with FS9 alone. Can someone please help. I've read a few posts and am wondering if there is a difference between AS2004 and AS WXRE. I've seen a few things about suppression but can't find it anywhere in the program. Here are some of my specs:FS9FSUIPC: 3.220FS9 is started then WX is cleared from FS9 then through FSUIPCFSUIPC settings: see screen shotsDan RelfeC-130 Flight EngineerUSAFhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/81265.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/81266.jpg

Hi guys, I've been an FSMeteo user for quite some time, and it always worked perfecty with earlier versions of FS. However, this is not the case with FS9. While it still works, I can't get past the stutters that are introduced whenever the software updates the weather stations. My question is, do you also experience this with AS2004? I've been forced to resorting back to FS9 real weather instead of using FSMeteo, but I've just been hearing all the great things about AS2004 and have done some research. All of my other questions/concerns have been answered simply by reading through this forum, but I couldn't find anything about the stutters. So, how goes it? Right no…

Hi Jim,Well, here's question two. What setings are required to keep clouds popping into/out of view abruptly? I can't speak authoritatively on this because I've only flown a few hours with AS. If there's no easy answer, I can provide you wih my settings (which are all stock). BTW, FSW 32 bit clouds installed, render to texture off. Thanks,Mark

Hi Jim,My first question is this...I've installed AS and all is well. Now, when I exit flight simulator, close out AS, and start fresh, If I open FS, select 'previous flight' (without opening AS) will FS retain the weather settings from the previous flight without opening AS (or creating a .dat file)? The reason is I'm doing a bunch of short hops trying to learn the Garmin GPS and don't want to have to download the weather everytime or save a .dat file (geez, pretty lazy!).Make sense? :-) Thanks and I'm having a great time learning to use AS!Mark

Hi Folks,Well, I have been doing some serious flying with v1.1 (EKCH-CYUL-KIND), and I'm really impressed. Not only do the clouds look better, but this winds smothing thing really works! Not 100%, but definately around 90%.One or two things: As you may recall, I asked about step climbs earlier. When I import a flight plan into AS, I can also enter a new CRZ ALT. When I do a step climb, I import the same flight plan, but change the CRZ ALT; however, in the new nav log you still see the average winds for the original altitude. And it would be nice, with some feedback when you click the buttons: See them move, click sound - anything, so you can see that you did hit it.As I sa…

Hello Gang!I went ahead and purchased AS2004 and I'm glad I did - it is a great enhancement to the 2004 experience. I am however, having a terrible problem and seek your wisdom and knowledge in hopes we can get it corrected. On every flight, without regard to aircraft type or weather outside, once I hit 400-300 feet agl, prior to landing, the aircraft hits a severe up and down attitude and almost loses control; the anomaly almost looks like windshear. I have been able to recover on all occassions and land safely, but this problem happens like clockwork, on every flight and at the same stage of landing and if you're shooting an ILS approach, the movements are so abrupt …

Hi,I went ahead and bought the ActiveSky promotion this afternoon. Installed it without a problem, weather working great, no problems here. However, when I load the Radar (Ctrl-F12) and start changing the zoom my FS starts to hang. Framerates drop from 25 to 1 and never go up again. Closing AS does not solve the problem. I have to completely shutdown FS and restart. So for the moment I cannot use the Radar. Anybody any idea why ?I think my specs are not that bad, performance wise.

I'm considering purchasing ActiveSky, but I have one question. Is it possible to disable the ActiveRadar? I run a low-end system (P4, 1.6GHz, 512MB RAM) and I don't want to take too much of a hit in performance.Thanks.

Hey Jim,I just installed ActiveSky and am very pleased. My concerns were definitely unwarranted concerning frame rates..negligible. The weather just LOOKS better across the board. I haven't ventured into Active Radar..not sure what it does at this point. I'll probably be back w/questions (after reading the manual, of course!).Thanks for a graet product!Mark

I'm getting, during the internet connection at initialization, the "unstable internet connection" error. This is not really an ActiveSky issue, but maybe someone can help. I have 56k dial-up, and have never had issues with it before, but I cannot get real time weather in AS or in FS2004. Furthermore, when I try real time weather from within FS2004, I get the "trouble with internet connection, check your configuration" error message. However, I can find no problem with that. I tried Microsoft's FAQ suggestions, but no luck. I am able to connect with the mszone site to check internet connectivity with microsoft's weather server, and that works fine. In all other uses,…

Title says it all really - what improvements/changes will I see if I install ActiveSky on FS2004, rather than using the built-in realtime weather updates?

The winds aloft will not update during a flight but the weather updates fine. The aloft data stays the same all the way through a flight with the originating station aloft data. Have tried everything I can think of. Anyone have any answers?Keith

Kind of been out of the ActiveSky weather thing for a while now and I was wondering if there was an update or patch that would allow me to use ActiveSky in FS9? Or do I have to purchase it again?ThanksPieter

Something strange has been happening since release of MR2.I do not know if it is due to MR2 itself or if you changed something else in the weather server (this i can't know).Anyway the problem is that sometimes AS fetches data from totally wrong stations.See pic for examplehttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/80394.gif

Hi All,I'm getting a little (well a lot) tired of the sudden wind changes in FS9. I really think they are one of the biggest bugs/features in FS9.Anyway, from various forums I gather that AS2004 can do something about it. But in the FAQ I read: "You must have a valid flight plan loaded (with correct cruise altitude entered) for route-based wind smoothing to be enabled". Does that mean, that if I request a different FL from ATC (as in a step-climb), I will not be able to get smoothing?TIASven Sorensen, EKCH

Still getting positive temperatures into the low 300's using the PMDG 737.However, if I slew up to FL350, the temperature reduces to a more normal one (about -20), but as soon as you turn slew mode off, the temperature shoots up to +5ish.Using As 2004 V1.2 Build 102.This is very strange, and like others, only started a couple of months ago. I don't think I've changed or updated any files since it started acting this way.-Phil
