HIMy HiFi METAR reports always seem to have a vis of 10SM (or less) even though I get to see to my set limit of 50 for most 10SM reports anyways. Is this usually the case and what does it actually mean?Allen

I do most of my flying on VATSIM but do not use Vatsims's weather, due to it being REALLY old all the time. So, with that being said, do i need to enter my flightplan into the AS2004.5 before starting flight or can I just hit refresh once I am ready to start my flight (meaning weather is cleared and plane is sitting on the tarmac)?I know with the WXre you could. Hey everybody,I have question: I just made a flight from Frankfurt to Amsterdam.In FRA the temperature was normal -01C. When I arrived at Amsterdam the temperature was 30C on a Decemberday !!! The wheather at Amsterdam was correct only the temperature was not correct. Does anybody know what I did wrong ? are my settings not correct ???Regards,Dimitri

OK, Here is the deal. I was out to prove to myself i wasn't going NUTS or something, but there definitely is something going on here. I have tried every trick suggested in the excellent manuals with AS 1.92.4, flightmax1.4, and settings suggested for FSUIPC3, and cannot get a single radar echo even in level 4 weather on my FlightMax!! Under ActiveSky Manage in FsFightmax it says there is a metar file and a line for Use None. Any help would be appreciated. Just want some echos to simulate my instrument in my real life Navajo! I am wondering if I should use an older version of FSUIPC??? Thanks ahead of time.

The reason I ask is last night I flew KMSP to KBOS. Left KMSP at 0700, and 100nm out of Boston changed the time setting to Dusk.Yes, I had previously set the flight up in AS, and imported weather.I flew into Boston and there was virtually no weather. No clouds, no wind, just clear skies.Out of curiosity I jumped on the 'net to see what the weather was in Boston at that time, assuming AS would have downloaded this when I set my flight up a bit ealier. Hi all, Just blown away by AS2004.5 (no pun intended). I have added FSglobal 2005 terrain mesh world wide (at a 12 gigabyte hit to my drive space) with 70 meter resolutio, Ultimate traffic with AFCAD and now Active Sky. I have to say that AS is by for the most impressive addon anybody could want. It even improved my frame rates when near the cloud sets ! I flew all over the NorthEast amd North Central US today and the snowstorms in Active sky we "Fantastic!!!" Words can't describe how the overcast, snow, 300 foot ceilings, 1/2 mile vis in blowing snow, cloud effects all blended together to make winter flying a really great experience. I grew up in the Northeast and I felt like I was taking a winter trip back home via FS9 and Active sky.

I had been seeing some of the altitude changes which others had reported and decided to look into why it may happen. I think I may have identified something and would like others to comment if this is what they see. Hi All,I need to clear up a little confusion on my part. Is it a recommendation that you use FS Skyworld clouds with AS to enhance the visuals or just to improve frames. I just purchased (Friday) AS2004.5 and so far found the only problem I've experienced was the hard hit to framerates. After reviewing the posts here and experimenting (turning off overcast enhancement made a big difference)I got my frames at a respectable level that provides smooth flights and the clouds and colors are absolutely incredible. It's such a dramatic difference over the default clouds and skys that it has taken my flight simming to a new level.So is there an advantage to installing the FS Sky …

Hi, everyone!!!I use to record all my landings on FS videos. They all look great, except when Activesky is on. Everytime I watch a video which was recorded when activesky was on (active), the aircraft lands high above the runaway. From time to time there are threads created where people ask for assistance from Damien and Jim and their as2004.cfg files are posted for examination. Hi,I might have to let FS recreate my FS9.CFG to get rid of a problem I have with my PMDG a/c where I get a fatal error in PMDG_737NG_Main.gau whenever I try to load the 2D panel and would just like to know whether AS2004 saves anything/does any modifications to FS9.CFG...ie will I have to reinstall AS2004 after letting FS recreate the FS9.CFG file?TIA,

I am getting this error when using the ActiveRadarConnector2b1. I located the AS2004.exe on the remote computer. When I click next to commence installation I get the error message"connector2proj Run-time error '70' Permission denied"Thanks!

I have had the strangest problem When I load the default flight at SEA. my sky is all messed up (Blue,yellow orange, red purple etc)and even the runway has a redish tint to it (like looking through red sunglasses) Thinking it was Skyworld I uninstalled it.(Will have to reinstall it as it is really nice) Still same problem. Loaded other default flight (Meggs) and all was ok. It appears that my SEA flight is corrupted and if it is how do I repair it? Also I noticed if I set the Date to the first of the month the sky is brighter than if set to end of month. (Dec 1st vs. Dec 30) I thought I read something on this at one time.If someone could tell me how to fix default flight…

Hi, I've had AS for a while now. Now, I want to run it via WideFS (I have the registered FSUIPC and WideFS).Alright, so far I put the WideServer.ini and WideServer.dll in the FS9 modules folder and the WideClient.ini and WideClient.exe on my laptop. I also have AS2004 installed on both machines.From there, I am lost. Thanks.PS If you have time, could you tell me how to use Sqwuakbox with WideFS also?

I have been using your excellent ActiveSky, latest version available for FS2002, registered FSUIPC and just downloaded FSFlightmax for the weather radar. I have tried configuring correctly in both FSFlightmax and activesky so they communicate with each other but I get no weather returns even in heavy rain using online mode for AS. Any help appreciated, I tried to follow all the manuals. Thank you. I would also like to have the fsflightmax open on my wideFS client computer if possible. Thank you.Robert

HI I wanted to post the settings I used in order to get my first ideal seamless pseudo-perfect flight using AS2004.5 B163I experienced smooth sailing/transitions from KCLE to KPHL at 11000' in FSDs Cheyenne, using USA Roads and FSGenesis Landclass US and freeware USA 70 meter mesh. Very nice combo.
