Active sky is wonderful, I love it! It worked perfectly, no problems, a joy. Then I had to go and add some other programs. Now the clouds flicker (like they are on fire) every once in a while. They look jaggad. Some are are so skinney they are about to disapear, next to clouds that are thicker. It looks krazy, like I am on drugs. Either way, are there any known issues associated with Active Sky and FSGeneis US land class and or rails, roads and streams? Like I said, Active Sky worked great, then I installed these programs and now blah. Nuts. Anyone know? Thanks.

Basically, I'm trying to figure out how to prevent any weather updates while on the ground. The biggest reason is that I want to avoid weather updates while I'm on the takeoff roll. Maybe I have bad luck but this seems to happen to me a lot.I was testing out B147, where the documentation stated that selecting the "Use Update Supression" option "prevents any updates from occuring while your are airborne and BELOW your configured Suppression Ceiling."From the above language, this option only applies while "airborne", correct? While on the ground, if I want to stop weather updates I have to select the "Disable Ground Updates" option. However, this option will NOT disable…

Please please please can someone help. Is there a way of completely disabling surface winds in AS. I thought that the limit surface wind button would do this but I seem to get very strange results.

Does everyone experience the clouds not being thick basically when flying through them you go through them easily like a sheet? Yet visually they seem 3D. I remember in some sims in the past you would actually be in the cloud for a while like in real life.What do you think about this?

I have just purchased AS and have set up a flight plan from a newly created airport using AFCAD. However, the details in the wx report and Nav Log page are incorrect. The distance is incorrect (over 3,000 miles for a 198 mile flight) and there is no MC or MH figures, both at 0. I assume this is because it is a new airport. Is there anything that can be done to rectify this ?

I flew into Green Bay Wisconsin tonight in a snowstorm displayed on my FS9 by Active Sky. Ceiling about 500 feet with Vis at 3/4 mile in blowing snow, and flying the backcourse with my F1 ATR72. The effects that Active Sky generated were absolutely amazing. I am so glad I bought this program and feel sorry for people that don't have it when they fly FS9. :-)

I know I have seen this topic somewhere, but I could not find it again. When I fly between Eugene, Oregon and San Francisco (I am sure it could happen other places) I have a following mist. I look down and there is a fog or a mist that follows my path. It is clear in front and behind the mist but it follows my plane. It is the worst kind. It does not form well to mountains and thus at the top of peaks the mist blinks. The infamous mist also causes other clouds to blink. Is this an FS9 issue or an AS issue? It makes flying terrible. As I look out I see a mist going at my pace and messing up the scenery. Thanks for any help.

I;m flying the PMDG aircraft and have never experienced it yet why?I must say activesky is amazing but why is turbulence not modeled?

This is a recurring problem for me. When flying in low visibility/overcast the transition to the clear skyes above is abrupt (please see pictures). When I break cloud, the cloud layer is not (as is expected) visible beneath the aircraft (i.e. clouds moving fast below) as something I have just flown through. It's my turn again.When i load MSFS flightplan and update i can read for every FP way point: wheather not available; i'm sure, ActiveSky is loaded and weather is updated ( can also listen to ATIS messages via COMM.122.00. Hi, I have a problem with my Antivirus program automatically deleting a file in the AS2004.5 program. It seems to detect the file as an adware/spyware and automatically deletes it before I can stop it. Subsequently AS2004.5 stops working. Here are my system specs:P4 2.5ghz windowsXPSP2 home, 1 gb ram, ATI radeon 9800pro.running FS9 without the 9.1 update. My antivirus is the Panda Titanium 2005 which has numerous protection options including adware/spyware protection. I did a search and found nothing relating to this in your forum? I am using AS2004.5 and when I click on the Icon to start the programme I get a small Installation Window advising installation of "BVE". It them shows a "can`t locate BVE setup" and asks me to Browse for it. When I cancel I get an Error 170 message that the installation cannot be carried out. After THREE of these odd install windows I then get the correct Active Sky window opening and the programme loads up as it should. I will probably get my wrist slapped for asking but I have been using AS for years and now have installed FS9 on my work computer in Africa (long way from home). As I live here for weeks on end the "work" computer is also my entertainment and of course I never never fly when I am supposed to be working (hehehe). Sir,Today for the first time AS didn't seem to work correctly with FS9. I was flying out of Deadhorse, AK (PASC). Everything in AS matched the metar report I downloaded from the web. Even though AS and the active radar reported -39 F as the temp, the IOAT on the cockpit panel still read 58F along with the ATIS report. Everything else, clouds, wind, etc seemed to match up correctly. I tried reloading AS several times according to the recommended order for realistic procedures listed in the manual, but always the same result. On page 8 of the ActiveSky manual it tells what to set the weather options to in MSFS.1. Clear skies (OK)2. Dynamic weather rate = NONE (OK)3. Real world weather button or Real world weather (updated) or User defined weather also needs to be set on this page.Which selection button should I use for for step 3 so MSFS will be properly set up for ActiveSky ?Thanks,Vaughan Martell
