Hi DamianI am using the B182 Version of AS2004.5.Whenever the weather completes an update on AS2004 the FS screen flashes then the green info line is displayed.I don' t recall this being the case in earlier versions.I have just ditched the FS9 patch but this was happening beforehand as well.I can make the situatio occur by refreshing.Any ideas on how to stop this happening?RegardsAndy b

I just purchased ActiveSky. I have followed the installation correctly as well as start up and have FUIPC 3.7 at default level and have the proper settings in FS9. I have a P4 3.2 GHZ processor with NVidia 5900 Ultra 256 mb card and 1gig of memory. I have virtually no problems maxing my settings and getting no lower than 15 fps in the most taxing environment (normally). I went to fly tonight after installing Active Sky and noticed severe flickering in the cockpit. I discovered (after changing the time to daylight) that low level clouds and/or fog is flickering severely on the ground and appears to be in panels of white rather than in smooth cloud-like textures. It blinks …

Hi I am real new to FS9 and Active sky, actually I am trying to get everything I need before I head back over to the big sand pile. When I am in Iraq I will have some access to the internet but not all the time so I would like to know if there is any way that:1) I can download more than one day at a time from the archive. I would like to have a whole years worth of weather on here.2) Also I am assuming that when I ask the program to download current weather. It is downloading the whole US? MY Region? World? just my route? which?3) I have not had time to read all the documentation, but I am trying to read all the documentation on the several aircraft that I have bought, a…

I have never used Active Sky..but I just spent some time looking at the pictures and looks real good. I also glanzed through their documentation. Now I would like the purchase this. .and I have a Q.would the licence be tied to machine? or would it be like most other payware from Flight 1?One more Q. If we use WideFS, (two or three pcs) would Active Sky support such a setup?Manny

Hi Chris & Damian,This is just a repetition of the Claudio's original suggestion in another thread. This repetition is intended to clarify matters (at least one hopes). It seems that many of us believe that a wonderful enhancement for ASV would be an automatic selection of cloud (and environment) textures to fit the local conditions. This means that Damian & Chris (and others involved in the project) would make some informed judgments about what sorts of cloud textures work best to represent weather during different seasons, times of day, geographical zones, and local weather conditions. And then have ActiveSky (ASV) automatically use those optimal textures when p…

Is anyone else experiencing problems using AP and ActiveSky while flying the new Level-D 767s from Flight1? There seems to be a lot of chatter in their support forum indicating that ActiveSky is part of the reason behind AP-related crashes while flying. What's the truth here? I just purchased the LD 767 package, and I can confirm that it IS easier to lose control of the AP while using ActiveSky, but I don't know why. Are you wonderful guys at ActiveSky in dialog with the LD 767 representatives on this matter? I want very much to be able continue using both while simming! Thanks for any help or suggestions. :)

OK, SB3 is just around the corner.I am sure that a number of beta folk have been using AS & SB3 for some time.1) What are the correct settings to get these programs working together to give us the best weather rendering?2) To the developers, is there any plan to create a SB3 weather plugin, as per their SDk?* Orest-~~~~~~~~~Orest Skrypuchvirtual.united.comUAL1445 Staff ORDFO

On the news that another version is coming out I decided in the meantime I'd go back to an earlier build that worked better for me.With this latest build I have not had much success w/clouds popping in and visibility suddenly going from clear to "soup". I had remembered that a prior maintenance release worked best for me. With it I had clouds slowly forming ahead of me, and I could watch the fog "roll" in. I even experienced visibility decrease as I descended into and under the cloud layers. With this recent release I get none of that, and I find myself not wanting to fly because of the poor weather simulation from Active Sky. But when I reinstalled the earlier build and …

As I understand it, I need to launch ActiveSky prior to launching FS9. Then I need to set my plane position and click the "refresh" button on the ActiveSky interface screen. The problem is, that screen disappears when FS9 is launched. I have to press Escape in order to access ActiveSky again. This, of course, puts FS into a Pause mode.Am I missing something? How is the best way to access ActiveSky with FS9 running? Thanks.

I have always used AS and FSW but i do feel there is something i don't grasp. Why have 300 types of clouds if they can't be switched on-the-fly?Only way of using all that many textures is choose a set before starting FS.But in my idea of simulation, the cloud type i encounter depends on the weather in that particular zone, and not on my mood before starting the flight. So why this enormous choice of clouds?Should i always have a look at weather.com sat images and choose the necessary set? What do you guys that use the sets do?

I haven't tried the new beta (182), but if for some reason I need to roll back before any new version comes out, will I have to completely unistall the AS or just reinstall 175 back over it?Also, you mentioned a whole new Active Sky!! I'm excited, so do you wish to comment on what a new AS would be about? This version is so great with the continued support (175 has be best so far IMO), I guess I'm dying to know what else could be done to warrant a whole new program for FS9.Thanks again!

Suggestions for further development.Hi to the Active Sky TeamFirst of all I would like to thank for your work and support, But this post is not intended just to make compliments.I will make a few suggestions , describing what would be nice to see in the future versions.1st) there are many local stations in many parts of the world that are not much covered . If no Wx data for those can be found for those stations it could be convenient to auto-generate the Wx using statistical data respect to a always present near Station . Example: In New Zealand If apart the Christchurch Station there is no Stations for 200nm it would be enough to know the NZCH station [Christchurch]…

Jim or Damian,Can you please shed some light on the 'problem' I have with the destination's weather being activated. As you can see in the attached screencapture I'm 60NM away from my destination. I checked the "Force Destionation Weather" box, but still the weather from another station is active.Am I misinterpreting what is being displayed, or am I doing something wrong still? Thanks for your help,Hanshttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/110361.jpg
