Hi all,I purchased Active Sky a few months ago and backed up my zip files to my second hard drive as I do with all the add-ons i purchase. However that second hard drive has died on me and it's going to need to be replaced. I need to re-download Activesky again, but I see from Simmarket that I have to pay a small fee again to restore my download link. Is this really the only way I can get the install zips back??Thanks,Richard

I have just installed the new default 737 version of FS2Crew. All works well after I started with the Cessna and then changed to the 737. I thought that I would just try and execute a normal flight from SFO to LAX without using FS2Crew, and then go back and try the same flight using FS2Crew.I find that from the very start I cannot call ATC and I do not get any audio from ATC even talking to other aircraft. I can hear all other sounds normally. I have checked that ATC is selected in the settings menu.I would appreciate any suggestionsLaurie

Hello fellow Simmers, I have the Beta 142 version installed and recently I have started to notice that I seem to be gettig a lot of what I call grey out skies. I have to go to weather and select clear all to clear it. Once this is done it is fine up until a certain point and then it haunts me again. Any ideas as to what might be going on? The transitions from comletely grey and overcast to clear seem to be very abrupt. Any ideas as to what might be causing this to happen?RegardsPaul

Was wondering if Damian can answer the questions I brought up about Force Destination Wx, that Jim couldn't answer. I really would like to get this option working right, If I can be of any help in troubleshooting, I'm available. But I need to know how it is supposed to work, to properly tell you what is not working! Thanks!Rick

I am trying to trouble shoot why I am having overcast issues with AS. I know the issue with VV, but I have tried doing a find and replace of all VV in a saved WX file and changed every VV to an OVC. AS far as I can tell every METAR in the saved file for Maine, New Hampshire, eastern, Massachusetts, southern New Brunswick, eastern Quebec, and Nova Scotia has an OVC under 1000

Lately for some reason I have been doing a lot of transoceanic flights. I am curious as to how AS2004 handles weather over the ocean? I think I figured out how it works but would like the bottom line.My theory is that it just does the weather of the closest station (which usually would be the nearest land?). Flying from KSFO to PHNL it hangs on to a K50Q METAR, AS2004 says it is over 230nm away at this point in the flight. The METAR updated itself and I got a huge cloud pop since the station was beyond the suppression radius. Is that how it works, just taking weather from the nearest station? Or are there oceanic weather reports on the Hifi server from some souce? An…

Hi! I also get missaligned columns when printing the navlog. Have searched here but can't find any solution. It seems that the lines with waypoint that have names containing wide letters like KEMAX, ROXEN, BEDOS, etc etc, push the data one column forward, Look at attached scan. I'm using the latest beta AS2004.5 B175. WinXP Pro SP2

I just purchased, downloaded, and installed ActiveSky last night. The accompanying README file instructed me to copy the FSUIPC.dll file which was located in the ActiveSky modules folder and paste it in the "base FS9 modules folder" which I took to mean the Modules folder which is located in the FS9 folder. I have done that. The user's manual says that ActiveSky is designed to work in conjunction with FSUIPC which I have never purchased, downloaded, or installed. I am confused about just what "FSUIPC" is and whether or not it is necessary for me to go and get this program now. If so, where do I get FSUIPC and where do I put it when I get and download it. I see a pic…

Just got it yesterday, so far, very impressinve. Have a problem though, when in flight and after selecting to here the flight info on 122.00, no matter what I do, it still talks, even after dessecting, changing, flipping the COM's. Right now, I am on a flight, and I hear a girl saying one syllable every 3-4 minutes.Quite annoying, anything I can do?Also, I use FSautostart. I have ActiveSky startup after FS2004 starts. All works fine. But I prefer not to switch programs. What happens if I do not go back and load my flight plan - clear my wx with FSUIPC thoguh, just not do an ALT-TAB. The reason I ask, I pratically have everything shutting down on the PC, and when I go to th…

Hi!I'm concidering purchasing this add on to fs, but I still have some questions about the software:After the purchase, the downloaded file is the lateste version available, or is the base one, needing service packs from support?Does A.S come with a custom replacement clouds package or uses the default ones?In the case of replacement clouds, is it better to use 3rd party cloudes like those from FSW?What clouds are recomended by the A.S team for best efect and best performance separatly?I've noticed from the preview pics an option for system or FS time zone:I'm from portugal, my time zone is GMT but I usuly fly domestic into SPAIN wich is GMT+1. I know that NORMALY an hour…

Yesterday, i have installed the new Update 175 over my older build 147. Cause the force destination weather funktion in this older build not work. The new build 175 is very good but the cloud-transistion during enrote flight is not smooth as in build 147. I have very often a very heavy changing of clouds during enroute.Greetings,Martin

I know I brought this up before, but I have gotten pretty frustrated with this issue. Perhaps I am incorrect and the cause is not lack of VV interpretation. Here is a METAR, Local Radar Shot, and a Fs9 screen all from the same time at KBOS. I am finding the only way I can use ActiveSky to simulate low IFR is to save the weather and then go edit the file and make sure all stations near my flight have overcast(OVC) in place of vertical visibility (VV). Hi, I'm still having the same problem with the latest update. It used to work perfectly, but ever since I've installed both updates (2&3) the AS2004 will not connect with the flightsim with fsuipc 3.44, and won't run at all with an older version of fsuipc.

Hello! After doing the update #3 to Build 175, ActiveSky disconnects me from the internet after a short period of time. This only happens while in route. If I remain static in the same place it does not disconnects. I solved the problem by uninstalling AS and reinstall it again but this time with Build 174. I have FSUIPC 3.45 registered. If anyone knows also anything about this problem, please report. Thanks in advance.Regards ;-)

Hi - I'm flying the LDS 767, with AS2004 B175. Noticed a similar post just below, although I'm not sure his problem is the same as mine.Problem is quite simply, I get, periodically, rather large and sudden changes in the SAT at high altitude, which obv causes all sorts of mess.Winds reported in the AS program are correct, what I get in flightsim is quite different tho.For eg, nearest reported station was EHAM, FL390 winds 330/48 temp -68C; I got +4C and a variable 3 knot wind.Using FSUIPC 3.47 and running AS over WideFS.Anyone experienced anything similar?

I've been using AS2004.5 b175 and am experiancing 'blue outs' - clouds won't have textures (but will have shapes) and are all blue. I'm using the default settings for min/max vis, supression range, and layer limit.Am I doing something wrong here? I don't experience this with the FS9 internal weather downloader.ThanksP
