I am running the latest builds of FSUIPC and AS2004.5. I finished a flight from Perth (YPPH) to Singapore (WSSS) but had some anomolies.First (and this is repeatable) - While processing the route in AS2004.5 at some point (not always the same) my WideFS connection kicks out with an error "IPC REQUST CONTAINS BAD DATA". Then, after a period ranging from a few seconds to a minute or two WideFS reconnects. This causes me a problem with FDC disconnecting. THIS ONLY HAPPENS when processing a route, not before or after. I am doing nothing else in FS when processing either. I noticed along the flight that some reporting stations had the dreaded //// at various points in th…

Hi!When there is a new version of FSUIPC and I want to replace my old one, do I have to replace it both in FS9/Modules and in FS9/Modules/Activesky ?As I see it there is a FSUIPC both in the ordinary modules-folder and one in teh Activesky-folder, is that correct?

Hi I'm haveing these tempreture and wind changes flying the LDS 767. I have the latest build 175 and a registered copy of FSUIPC. In the weather report it sayed tempretued as low as -58 at FL350, what i have is -25. What appears to happen is i get a sudden drop in temp and the speed dramtically changes also. It eventually settles down but would like to know why this is happening. Thanks in advance Shaun

With a test of B174 and FSUIPC 3.45 After a refresh and AI refresh, I was getting correct ATIS weather and the AI were using the correct runways, but the "visible" wind was way off as shown on my EHSI and with the SHIFT-Z readings both in direction and speed at the surface and climb-out to 15000 feet (the correct METAR showed in the adv window). In other words, the AI weather and visible weather were not synced.Upgrading to FSUIPC 3.47 and B175 fixed the problem for the same weather loaded at the same area. All now matches the METAR indicated both AI (after an AI refresh) and visible sats in FS.

Hi,I installed AS2004 today and using it as we speak. It seems the stations are not updated correctly, for over 10 minutes AS is 'writing station data' for EBAW. I have restarted AS several times, but it always stops at EBAW.As a consequence the 'Closest Station' isn't also changing/updated, hence the weather remains the same.I know the weather has been downloaded (363 KB) but I can remember if it is VATSIM or AS data, since I can't go into the option menu (refused untill after updating airports)I think I'm using VATSIM weather.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/108827.gif

Could someone post the Force Destination parameters so I could check to see if it is working correctly for me.I think Jim mentioned the weather should be the same 75 miles from destination, if Force is on. Is that at all altitudes, or only below a certain altitude? Are all weather updates skipped or ignored, except if the destination weather changed? Thanks!Rick

I recently installed B174 (didn't notice there is already a B175!) and have been experiencing CTDs with fs9, or total/partial incompatibilities when using LevelD's 767.My first CTD ocurred today when I was approaching a rather thunderstormy area around Madeira islands. All of a sudden fs9 crashed, and the XP message described something related to TERRAIN.DLL. I never had any problems flying in that area, so I found it rather strange.Later on, trying to import a flight in LevelD767 I noticed that many switches/sounds were not funtioning. I restarted fs9 and AS and the situation repeated. Then, I decided to start fs9 only with it's own Real Weather, and things were OK. Just…

I have ActiveSky installed on my main FS9 PC and a networked computer as well. I usually access ActiveSky on the networked PC through WideFS, works fine. I updated my networked copy of ActiveSky to build 175, works great!, but then I decided to update my FS9 PC copy of ActiveSky as well, it is still at build 174, but when I tired , it wants to update the networked PC's copy of Active Sky instead! How it got itself so attached to the networked PC I don't know....so, is there a simple way to change the installation path on my main PC ActiveSky installation so that it will install the update to it and not to the networked PC OR must I reinstall ActiveSky on my main PC bec…

Hello people - I need some help with flying at high altitude IFR.Basically, I'm happily flying along, and I start to get a tail wind. The wind as about 80kts and because the air is moving in the same direction of the aircraft this stops the wind flowing over the wings in the right direction at the right speed. My speed is currently saying 156kts, GS is 345 and it's mach .46. Basause my my speed is 156 kts, my aircraft has pitched right up, and now requires flaps to be deployed to prevent my aircraft from stalling. I'm currently at FL340 above the Atlantic. This has happened to me before. I'm halfway through a flight in the new LDS767. It's happened to me in the past i…

Good evening,Yesterday, during a flight, with online weather update, I was getting close to land. But the destination METAR had no visibility report, visibility report was missing (I don't mean visibility equal to 0000 or ////), there was something like :MKJS 031900Z 30006KT SHRA FEW030 20/16 Q1013=Outside my cockpit, it was like a foggy white sky. And I had to make a LAND3 full automatic landing, because I saw the runway one second before I flared. So, my question is : is there a way to avoid this weird weather without closing Activesky and reseting the present weather (not realistic) ?ThanksBest Regards / Stephane

Damian,I recently bought and installed an HP Photosmart printer on my PC. Now, whenever I run ActiveSky 2004, it starts the Windows installer (Msiexec) and tries to install an HP Promotions application. I have to cancel said installtion 2 or 3 times and then AS2004 starts normally. I've checked that the shortcut hasn't been corrupted, and run AS2004 direct from the install directory just to make sure.I've uninstalled the HP drivers and the problem goes away... but then I can't use the printer...Have you any idea what might be causing this bizarre behaviour?RegardsSimon Kneller

I've been using AS 2004.5 for a couple months now and am really enjoying it. I couldn't imagine having to use FS default weather any more.I just had an idea for a possible future enhancement. I don't know how feasible it is, but it doesn't hurt to ask.Would it be possible to have an option to randomly vary the destination ceiling and visibility from what would otherwise be set by the current METAR or TAF? One of the challenges of real IFR flight is starting an approach, and not knowing for sure what you'll see (or not see) at DH or MDA. When the reported weather includes clouds and precip, what you encounter on the final approach course is often different from what the AT…

Jim and Damian,I would like to say thank you for everything that you have done for us with AS. With build 175 I am no longer getting any wind shifts, the destination forcast is right on, and the scenery is absolutly beautiful. Just want to say thanks!Brian

Wow! For the first time in a long time in fs9, my jaw literally dropped an inch or two when I fired up Active Sky, made one single choice (online mode) and loaded a saved Misty Fjords flight. Also, yesterday morning I drove my son to scool while I passed some unbelievably cool fog, sort of odd spots here and there as if the sky had fallen down. I thought, this is too tough for Active Sky. Not. Same evening, I dowloded that exact time, and it was there ...Two things that I would like to know though:1. Is there an option to tell Active Sky always to download archived weather instead of the current. I didn't find it. Could be without saving a file and showing a dialog box. J…

Purchased and downloaded the latest Activesky. Problem is that when I start it up I get the initializing logo with the thunderous background wav file playing and then it is minimized on my taskbar when loading is complete. No matter what I do I cannot get Activesky restored on the desktop. The curious thing is that it did work the first time. But not since. So I'm not aure if I've inadvertently altered something.Appreciate it if anyone is able to help.

Of course in regards to weather and activesky?

Hello, for the past 5 months I have been trying to get a nice Concorde flight completed without any major weather screwups and I haven't been successful yet. I purchased AS2004 just so I could have a good flight in the Concorde. I haven't had any luck so far, and pretty much gave up until I saw the update notice and decided to give it another try. I'll be real brief. I followed all of the instructions for running AS2004 to the letter. The only thing I didnt do was import a flightplan into AS2004. I did give it a departure and arrival airport, speed altitude, etc and have it process into AS2004. After takeoff, everything works beautifully until I get to about …

Took off from Capodichino (LIRN) enroute to Casale (LIBR). Was just flying around Naples, the coastal area, then decided to head toward Casale, I was at 2500'. 10 minutes out my aircraft (default Baron) began to overspeed. My speed indicator was pinned to the top, and it happened fast enough for me not to notice in time. I immediately pulled back and threw the nose of the aircraft up, and sure enough the speed began to bleed off, but I climbed at an incredible rate, to 4500' in a matter of seconds! My speed began to bleed off, but in jerky bits at a time, of about 5 knots each jerk of the gauge. Not jerkiness in the sim, just on the gauge. I watched my wind gauge in horro…

Hi,flying at the moment over Greenland (6650n) from KBFI to Manchester. I have with my WXRe strong headwind from 120/50. After the charts there should be a small tailwind. And the other two guys I am flying with have AS2004 and they have the realistic winds of 227/28. FL is both 370. So I am very slowly at the moment. Any ideas or solutions?
