Guys,I am currently using the low res clouds from FS Sky World 2004. These clouds allow a good frame rate on my computer while using third party scenery and aircraft. Will the new ASV have low res clouds as well that are comparable to FS Sky Worlds or will we have to stay with what we currently have? Great looking 32-bit clouds don't mean to much when your frames drop below 5!

I have been using Chris' terrific FS Sky World 2004 for some time, and I look forward to his clouds in ASV.My question is, before I install ASV, do I have to remove the Sky World files, or are they overwritten during the installation process? Thanks, Joe

Hi Support:1) Do we have to uninstall previous versions of Active Sky eg AS2004.5, prior to installing ASV??2) If we already have (as I do) the latest (paid) version of FSUIPC 3.48 installed in FS2004, how do we avoid re-installing and so possibly destroying all of other assignments, including joysticks, buttons, keys, etc. Many ThanksPeter Hayes

Hi Jim. How's that for presumptuous! When downloading weather, I get the message 'Writing Station Data'...My flight is Schipol to Frankfurt Main.Q1: What is 'Writing Station Data'?Q2: Why is it writing, amongst others, LIRF?LIRF is a wee way away from both airports? Is it getting weather data from Rome???? I stand to be corrected, but I didn't see EGLL flick through...Heathrow's a lot closer than Rome but didn't see to have it's station data 'written'....Told you it was quick!CheersTim

Hi!Sometimes when I fly in conditions with 3 or more cloud layers, there is suddens shifts in sight when approaching higher altitudes. From flying from a layer with thick fog and rainy clouds, the sky suddenly turns blue after a while. There seem to bee no smooth transition from the white - and greyish layers to the clear blue sky.Is this a common problem?Jan Ove Larssen, Norway

Hi!Do I understand the radar situation display correct:The middle of the top of the display, i.e. the upper part of the white cross-hair, is the direction I am flying to, right? -- E.g. if my HDG is 010, the left part of the cross-hair is 280?So, if I load a flight plan into ActiveRadar (which works fine), shouldn't the flight plan path be exactly parallel to the path showed by the default GPS display (standard view)? -- I guess, it should...My problem is: These both paths always diverge, about 10 to 30 degrees. In other words: If I am flying straight to an airport (using VOR, GPS or whatever), this airport is always clearly some millimeters beside the upper part of the cr…

Hi,Last night I was flying a long flight so I decided to pause Flight Simulator until this morning. When I woke up Flight Simulator had crashed to desktop. I have been experiencing many c-t-ds so yesterday I completely reinstalled FS from scratch. The only addons I installed were FSNavigator, ActiveSky, and FSUIPC. Should I not pause FS while using ActiveSky?Thanks,Adam

  12. Hello everyone!I just wanted to give everyone an update on our progress...We've been hard at work finishing development of ASV, ActiveSky Version 5. We are getting closer! The private Beta Team has really put the product through the paces and they are doing a great job helping us shape the final release version.I wanted to share a few screenshots showing some of great new interface features in this new version! This is just a VERY small sample of what is in store!Note that these screenshots are of work in progress, and subject to change before release. The new main interface got a facelift, including new decoded wx display areas, larger METAR/TAF/WINDS data windows and …

My clouds have recently started playing up!! Doesn't really affect FS but it's just a bit annoying when flying. I've installed FS skyworld 2004 but it hasn't helped. See screenshot below. If anybody can help I'd be very grateful.P.S. I have done a search but couldn't find anything, so if I've missed it I apologise.:-zhelp http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/118180.jpg

If i understand this correctly only one of these two is needed right? The only extra with flight environment is the water textures, the rest ASV will have right?

  19. In FSUIPC 3.48 we have two boxes on the initial opening screen relating to weather. One is "CLEAR ALL WEATHER" and the second : "WEATHER SETTINGS OFF" (It used to be "MINIMUM WEATHER DEFAULTS"). Do we click both boxes prior to starting AS2004.5 and performing a "REFRESH" (CONFIGURE, LOAD FLIGHT PLAN, etc), or do we just click on "CLEAR ALL WEATHER"? Do we have to click both each time prior to starting AS2004.5? Could this be clarified please? Do we still have to manually disable the weather options, so that we don't destroy our buttons, keys, and joystick assignments or will these two buttons disable the FSIPC weather options automatically? The manual seems to indi…
