This is the one texture that has been forgotten, how come come?When an update comes like another build will all mips have to be added again?

Do i need to go back to pre asv textures or will it be fine as is?I've read that with uninstall i need to go back to previous textures otherwise the new backed up textures will really be the new asv ones?

I just flew from Sao Paolo to Rio(using AS4.5); the Metar for Rio showed CAVOK. When I arrived at Rio and descended below about 2200ft the visibility became 0 for all intents. I paused FS refreshed AS and went back to FS; still the same thing.Does anyone have a clue as to what was happening here, is it a config setting in AS that was causing it or something else?Thanks, Erik

I open this thread to write a public praise to this wonderfull team of people: Damian, Jim and last but not least Chriss.In my opinion they are the absolute best as far as support goes: always nice and eager to help each and every one here on this forum and by email.Almost never seen a rude discussion in this forum, and the locked threads stay comfortable on the tips of a few fingers.This without takeing into account the always evolving products they sell, the free updates and all.I do not know anyone of them personally but from the few lines i have exchangd with them during the time i have been a customer of their products, i really like them.I wish every other developer…

I downloaded ASV update version the other day.Wow!!! I was anyway happy with 4.5 but ASV has knocked my socks of.Thanks very much for this great product. Phlipflop.

Hi,I'd like to know what seasonal compared to fixed skies are. The manual says "Sky types that are not fixed will change depending on the season/date".1. Does it change with ICS or whenever ASV is run? 2. Is the change within the sky variations, ie does it matter what variation i choose for seasonal?3. How are the skies different for each season? There is no preview so it's difficult to know.Btw, thanks for creating the excellent ASV. Now each flight feel exciting with a touch of uncertainty, just like reality:-).

Having a weird problem with ASV, Clouds drawn at a distance are blurred. If I hit SLEW, they go instantly clear, then blur again when I move out of Slew. I can slew ON and Off all day and it keeps happening.Any idea why this is, and why they are blurred when out of slew mode? How can I fix.TIA.

Hi all,Thanks to the Active Sky team for a great product (after an arduous download session).The development of this product has come a very long way... congratulations.One small niggle though. no matter what 32 bit cloud textures I use 256x256 0r 64x64 frame rate is very poor, down in the low teens.For now I'm using Flight Environment DXT textures with great success.I just wanted to point this problem out, I can work around it but I would like to see AE's wonderful textures in a smoother manner.Thanks for hearing me out.Stu

Hello HIFISim,I finally bought your product, and enjoying ASV very very much! Just a brief question: do I have to have "FSUIPC Wind Smoothing Control" turned on to have stable winds? Or are the winds controlled even better than older problems about which I read from ActiveSky, thus not producing sudden shifts and changes while crusing and especially while descending and climbing?

ASV ROCKS!Just bought, downloaded, and installed ASV. Everything went w/ out a hitch.I noticed that ASV had made a back up of the original texture folder, so I reinstalled Bart's resized autogen textures. (Maybe some who are complaining about frame rate loss overlooked this).Ran the program before starting FS9 to set the options as I wanted them. No problem understanding everything...it was a breeze.Hooked up everything to run under FSAutostart. After my firewall initialized ASV to run, all loaded w/ out a hitch.Everything loaded, ASV refreshed the AI traffic, and I was set for a flight. I am not sure the logic in AE behind selecting the sky type. I understand that you can only select one daytime sky, etc but I don't understand what night sky has to do with the daytime variation. For example I like to have the darkest possible night sky - I noticed that "Fixed night"/01 gives me a fairly dark night but why I can't then select some daytime variation to go together with it? They seem to be mutually exclusive. I can select "Fixed Night" or "Fixed Day Clear" but not both. As a counter-example in the category "Environment" I can simultaneously select different snow, VC rain, runway lights or the Moon - works as I would expect (there are still problems because …

Love this product, only complaint...is there some way to change either the background or text for the scrolling weather updates, I have a difficult time reading the red lettering on that green background but don't want to disable it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.Bob DemarestBirmngham, Al.

First off, I am a first time purchaser/user of ActiveSky and am absolutely positively extremely satisfied by my purchase. Hi all:I was able to setup my account and purchase ASV with no probelms. Kudos to the straight forward process!However, I noticed in Firefox (my primary browser) that when I tried to download, it was not receiving any data.I finally decided to try IE to download, it is working now (97 KB/sec).So just posting here that if you have problems with FireFox you might want to switch to IE.

I just purchased ASV and seem to running into a problem. Everytime I try to run it, it tries to initialize, but then I get a message saying Main Thread Process Error...Retrying at Next Interval. I believe I have followed everything according to the readme. Anyone else getting this?

I see that after I installed AS5, AS 4.5 is still installed and can be started with the Desktop Icon. Should I uninstall 4.5, now that I have 5?

Can't download the new texture sets. Am I missing something? All I get is a page not found error after being diverted to avsim.com.By the way, FANTASTIC PRODUCT. Well worth the upgrade price. I have no problems with it and you all deserve a big fat pat on the back for this.Well done.RegardsGoran

HiI have been using active for about 4months now,when i get weather info it say for example SCT250 ,i never see clouds that high,High alt clouds just do not appear,could anyone tell me why,or is it a fault with the programI would be greatful for any helpMarcus
