I have installed ASV on a 2 PC WideFS configuration.If I use the button "New Route" it always fetches the METAR from DXXX (if FS9 is closed) or from DGAA (if FS9 is running)Only the METAR for the alternate airport is loaded correctly. It also works if I use a .PLN file. But if I enter departure and destination manually it does not work!Another problem is the Active Radar. It doesn't show any weather. Only the wind is displayed!

Hi guys this weird it stays on my taskbar but i cant reload or maximise?

just curious, why is when there are thunderstorms allaround, the clouds tops are maybe 10000 feet and maybe a thickness of 4000 feet with lightning blasting out of these clouds. what ever happened to the tops of 40000 feet witht the anvil tops. does that not happen with fs?

Hi,Since I have installed ASV I have that phenomenon of clouds being drawn "on the fly" so to speak. I have read the thread posted here some time ago, and I'm familiar with the explenation, however, I had no problem when I used AS4.5 in combination with FS sky world. now it had reappeared - ant suggestions?thanx//Mike

Why is this error happening?

Just like to that you Damian for helping me with my d/l prob.I am getting the wrong weather info on my updates. AS5 is showing the correct time on the top BUT my metar is a totally different date and time. Vatsim weather on servinfo is showing the coorect time and date. Why is not ASV not updating correectly. Thx in advance.I think it still gives me the default date EVEN afetr selecting online updates

I have a fast connection and this is so slow downloading the ASV file 94 mb was much much faster.

I had WideFS and FSUIPC working before, and last night I did some flights with ASV working on the WideClient computer and feeding weather to the WideServer running FS9. Worked great!Now I'm ready to tackle the new cloud environment. To do that, I believe I need to go through the installation procedure for ActiveRadar. We have received a few reports on the forum and e-mail about some potential problems with mips conversion, installation and ICS. At this time they seem to be very rare and related to certain language settings. We are working on these problems and will be providing a solution very soon. Installed ASV as per instructions( upgrade ). Ran pgm to set online defaults. Exit pgm. Uninstall AS2004 and Active Radar. Run ASV - error 372 - Unable to load control chilkatzip from chilkatzip.ddd. You may have outdated module. Use one that came with your application.?????????Will uninstall and reinstall ASV and see if that helps.Thanx,Vic

hello,first of all you did wonders whit this program, thank you.However i have one problem:1.i start wide fs (2 pc setup)2.i start asv3.i start fs9 on main pcfor example; clear weather start flight and fsuipc clear all weather.so i am at eham and no weather, asv start downloading weather, and the weather at eham changes to the one it really is( i leave very close to eham). then asv says error on submit fs folderdesktopfs9how can this be, as i have the right weather at ehamhope you can help i know this has something to with sharing folders.before with as2004.5 everything worked perfect on 2 computers and i changed nothing.rick

Just wondering if anyone else is not able to get online updates? When I enable it it tries to connect and then gives me the error: Download failed or canceled. Will try at next interval. I can however fetch a report for an airport with no problems. If others can use this feature what in the world is going wrong on my side? Any ideas would be welcome.Jim

Hi,Im not sure if I have found a problem. I am currently flying at 35000 feet and I have a complete whiteout all around. Thunderstorms are present in the area also.The closest metar shows CWIY 121200Z 16007KT 2SM -TSRA BR BKN006 OVC012CB +RA 17/16 A2992 RMK SF7CB1 SLP133 RMK AUTOGEN ASVShould this level of visibility extend to 35000 feet !!!Any ideas guys.Cheers Drayton

I fly mostly airline not GA should my setting be changed to 20000 ft it is now on 10000 by default?

With this new ASV5 and vertical air movements,will it now be possible to go to my local hill and launch my paraglier into the ridge lift, or get a winch tow in my sailplane and go in search of bouncy spring thermals?

The website shows AE 512x512x32 high resolution sets 3 of them to make it more complicated. What are the 3, do i need 3 sets or i choose one. Also whats the story with no mips all clouds need mips on any system for fs9, so how come they didn't come with them? So what are the steps to do we need a thread for users to know what the procedure is.Its a good thing im a little aware of this stuff other wise a new user will not know what to do.Please help?

I would like to ask a question. I was wondering if ASV uses the fs2004 real world weather download option to aid in recieving real weather downloads or does it have its own that works independently.

Hi ! i have some questions i need answeared really badly.1) What does Local range suppresion do? does it only change clouds "behind the scenes" or does it also change wind and all sorts of things like that?.If so if ive got range suppresion above 120NM wont that interfere with TAF processing?? say if im flying over an area with low weather radar station i got the range suppresion set to 500NM and TAF processing on wont this make it all weird and buggy?.Also if it only does change clouds so called "behind the scenes then why would i want to set it to a high range? for example im flying at an high alttitude i got range suppresion set to 50NM and TAF proccesin on then the TA…

Hi,After I had upgraded to AsV, enabled MIP in AE (512x512) and made my first succesful flight I removed AS2004.5 and AS2004 from my computer (via Add remove programs).When I now try to start asV I get run rime error 372, Failed to load control ChilkatZip...I thought I read in the documentation that it was ok to remove 2004.5... Hello,just 2 questions for this great addon.1)Would be enough to compile the newroute menu (without importing a flightplan) in order to have ICS submitting proper clouds to fs9?or is -import flightplan- required ?2)yesterday on my first ASV flight I noticed a weird behaviour.I was at cruise (32000) level, around 100miles from destination lirf, and noticed far away at 30 miles clouds moving fast and coming from left and right to merge in the middle in order to generate a big thunderstorm. I currently use AS4.5 and Flight1's Flight Environment (the latter for cloud/sky textures etc). Do I need to use the ASV textures (are they better than FE?)? Otherwise, will I really notice improved functionality or is most of the upgrade the textures? ThanksDavid
