Whats the deal with this some say yes and some say no, if u uninstall wont all textures from fs sky world stll be installed in fs9.

I 've never posted before but felt compelled to do so because of the wonderful experience this software provides to the flightsim community. I've been an AS4.5 (FSW) user for quite sometime and just purchased ASV. Anybody that's sceptical of the $28.00 upgrade price, I'll give you some advice; don't waste a minute thinking about it, you're missing out. Could somebody confirm if I'm doing things in the right order?1) open ASV (options set to 'start paused', 'unpause on FS ready status and 'ICS + Random sky/ENV)2) launch FS9, create a flight: select aircraft, set fuel, set weather theme to clear, create flight plan3) go back to ASV and process the flight plan in 'new route'4) select refresh in ASV5) when it reaches 'writing station data:..." I load the flight in FS9Is this the right order ?

Hello Gang!First of all, I guess I was one of the few "Lucky Ones" that was able to download and install in the first try. Good job and a great addon. I do have a few questions:1. Can we safely delete / de-install AS4.5 now that ASV is installed?2. If I de-install AS4.5, would anything about ASV get messed up / affected?3. Hi allthis is NOt a complaint in any shape or form,i just purchased the upgrade to ASV and after trying to download it,(the server is busy)it says that i have completed the download.i'm slightly worried that if it thinks i have downloaded it ,this will stop me from being able to download all of it...when trying to download i get an error.server busy server disconnected.i knew that it would be busy, so it's not a problem.just need reassuance that i will be able to download it..once server is working.. thanks steve

I've been using ASV with FE, and I don't see it in the manuals anywhere but in the options section of ASV you leave the button checked "All Manual (No auto selections) is that correct???

This might sound like a stupid question but it's not. I'm from Malta and want to make a standard simple creditcard purchase. Every time I try to buy your product Pay Pal doesn't have my country listed and I can't go any further. Please advise, it's very frustrating.

First of all I must say I love the thermals! They add so much more realism especially flying general aviation aircraft! One badly located thermal can really upset your approach, just as happens in real life (where I did my flight training the one approach had a gravel pit - then a river - then a forest - then a road - then grass ... you were up and down like a yoyo on a sunny day lol!)However I ran into one issue today - flying into Toronto there was a massive thermal right above runway 24R - it was so strong I actually was unable to land - it held my Cessna 182RG right up in the air even at idle power lol!I know from real world experience in 172's a good thermal can prev…

After spending 1.5 hours downloading ASV, I'm sure that even if the links were working for the hi res cloud set, it would take a while to download. Any rough expectation on when they may be back up for download? This isn't a complaint, just trying to gauge when to come back to try again. ;-)

ASV is not an upgrade to AS2004 or any previous version BUT an entirely new weather generation product.You do not need to have any previous versions of ActiveSky installed on your computer in order to use ASV on a full install.For previous users of AS2004/2004.5 there is an upgrade version to bring your version up to the current ASV.From Damian website:The upgrade version is a special installation package that will verify your AS2004/AS2004.5 installation and then unpack a FULL INSTALL package for you. As you suggested on the download page, you advised geeting Get Right download resumer. I spent 30 dollars doing so and it doesn't work worth a darn. Now this ASV has cost me 80 bucks! For next time, please do not suggest getting a thrid party software program unless it has been 100% checke dthat it works. Hopefully I can get a refund but I highly doubt it.

OK this download problem is REALLY becoming irritable now. I have kept my cool for 6 hours.

As a loyal user of Active Sky's fantastic products over the years, I'm a tad concerned that ASV simply appears to combine two products I already have: ActiveSky2004.5 and Flight1's Flight Environment. I'm reluctant to dump Flight Environment, as I'm very pleased with it. Is there a compelling reason I should get ASV? Thanks.

This thing is taking forever (I'm on a highspeed at normally 4.5MB download). I'm getting 13.5KB.sec. And what's worse, there's no indication of how big the upgrade file is.tg272

Is there any chance a list of which cloud texture files in the FS9/Texture/ folder are modified by ASV be made up? (Or is there an existing one?). I'm just curious to compare the different file sizes at different settings. Thanks!

Guys,first of all let me say a big thank you for your great efforts. I am using AS quite a long while now and never had any big problems. Unfortunatly with the new textures provided by Chris my framerates went down so badly that I nearly can't fly anymore. It really has become kind of a diashow, very bad.I already have set texture solution to minimum and even tried with and without mips. And yes, I have shut down and restarted AS5 and the FS9 itself after every change - but there just isn't any improvement.Looks like I have to switch back to my old textures which really is a pitty, but I can't see any other solution right now.Chris, do you think you can have a look at you…

What are the suggested AE settings to get clouds/skies that look like the screenshots in the thread: Some ASV AE Sunset (a couple of posts ago)? I know that there are a lot of settings, but those screenshots are incredible!
