I have active sky running on a second computer. avs 6 . When it updates it says that it is updating cirrus only yet it downloads and updates the real wx fully. why do i get that message. Also do i have to turn off fsuipc wx when using this programthank

Hi guys,A weird problem is occuring specifically the beta builds of Activesky will not install. The tool is the setup launcher that will not update my active sky. The installer does point directly to the proper modules folder but it's not installing. For other users that have ASky it's full installer to any build example B496 that doesn't work. I tried other builds like 491 and that does NOT work either.This is not an activesky problem it seems, but rather a problem with my PC. It worked fine up until now.The only most recent thing I can think of is the add ons I purchased. But why would that matter. I also installed pmdg liveries with the installer exe.Anyway I tried a f…

My ASV6 version is Build 499.When i try to download weather archive, i enter 2006 into Download Year, 02 into Download Month, 17 into Download Day, 02 into UTC hour and i enter 4 into Additional Consecutive Hours, then i hit "Download Archive".After that, that box kept showing me that "Downloading wx data from HiFi Data Net(00Z)..." and "Hour 0Z not avilable/incomplete download... continuing to next..."It seems that i can't download weather archive with consecutive hours. I don't know why. When i try to download a single hour archive, nothing goes wrong.Is there something wrong with my ASV6? Help Please, thank you!!

I sent an email recently but received no answer!?I am in awe of your software, but understand that certain areas of the globe may not be sufficiently covered. I am a commercial scenery designer for FS9 and am completing some superb scenery for the Antarctic region. Is it possible for you to add Rothera WX Station to the upload facility, and also Fossil Bluff WX. I sent a whole load of stations for the area that are listed in my email, but these two are particularly important. Hello,Every time there is a new release or update of ASv6 I download that setup, and after installing it, archive it on an external hard disk. Since there are frequent updates to ASv6, I have the last 8 updates (from B446 through B499!) worth of setup files stored on my external. I was wondering, are subsequent updates inclusive of the changes made in previous updates? So say I had to reinstall, would I just need to install ASv6 (release version) and then the most recent update, or do I need to install every update in order?I ask this so I will know if it is ok to erase the old update files, and only keep the most recent one because it will update any previous version …

I am reinstalling FS9. My original copy of Active Sky was ASV, then updated to AS6. Is there a way to reinstall AS6, without first installing ASV, updating to AS6, then uninstalling ASV?Thanks,Jim

I have been told that I may have a bad .dll file in FS that is causing this pop ip when I load AS6/SU4, then call up MS, only way then to start MS then is to quit AS...............sometimes it works but not now..............any ideas on where tis .dll is hiding..........many thanks, RRL

I fly the pmdg 737-800 winglet, and I use AS6, but when i fly my speed keeps taking these great decreases and then increasing again. My speed never keeps constant or at my cruise speed or at the set speed.This occurs through the whole flight, it stops sometimes when i disable aloft winds. Can u please help me, because it makes my flights horrible. How can i set up AS6 or FSUIPC or anything else to stop the problem?Thanks in advance!

I am curious where asv get its cloud data from. I was flying today and looking at the visible satallite from noaa, the enite state of florida and half of georgia was covered in clouds. With asv there were waaay to many clear spots, 100's of miles wide. I also notice that their are not enough high clouds, especially the kind that extend from thunder cloud tops. Also from noaa, their were reported clouds from FL310-370 and in the sim it was all clear with very smooth air.

I have the latest build, 496. I have the option, "close ASG with ASV6" checked. The startup process I use is, start ASV6, load flightplan, refresh ASV6 so all graphics are updated in FS9.1. Then I start FS9.1. Previous builds shut down ASG like it was supposed to but now it stays open in my tool tray and I have to shut it down manually. What gives?

This is a question, probably for Chris Willis.Browsing the texture options in AS Graphics, I note that none of the options for either overcast or broken cirrus show very much cloud as a percentage of the sky, in fact there doesn't seem to be much difference from the options for few or scattered cirrus. Surely overcast is what it says, no sky visible only cloud? I have set up ASG themes with the thickest looking options but there doesn't seem to be much cloud when you use Overcast at say 25000 in a metar to set up a weather template in the configurator and apply it to all stations. Am I missing something?Mervyn

I raised a problem in the forum which was related to Active Radar (AR) not being updated with the correct weather and apparently not reporting the right location. The problem is now solved following the expert and patient help of Damian.I am posting this in the hope it might help someone else.You will have to read the procedures in the manual to understand some of what I will mention, if you are not familiar with the procedures for using ASv6 via Wide FS.The manual does explain all you need to do, but I misinterpreted the guidance.I run ASv6 via Wide FS. Hi Jim & Damien,FWIW, I've really been enjoying ASv6, especially with my new NV 7900GT video card. 512x512/32 bit clouds and complex sunrise/sunsets look friggin outstanding. Anyway, about the subject, am I correct in assuming that once a flightplan is processed, the Navlog does not get updated with each subsequent data pull from the ASv6 servers? While enjoying the PMDG 747, I'm finding that the NavLog data becomes really outdated by the time I begin my decent, usually some 9 to 12 hours later. I need more accurate data to complete my VNAV decent and approach wind calculations.If I am correct in this assumption, would it be possible to add some sort of "Update" b…

HiUnfortunately I'm stuck at Build 470 which is SU3, I cannot update from there on very weird,anyway to add to the mess I've had issues in the past with a ring around my sky/aircraft that makes the clouds pop in and out while taxing or spot plane view, for the longest time I didn't have this and after a reinstall of the program it's back.So since I'm trying a few solutions does anyone know where the option to add mips is, for the life of me I can't remember how I did it, and I think it was an option in activeenvironment only?Any ideas?

HiI have installed the latest beta.I'm still having the problem with ASG allways in system tray.Also when I'm open Task manager I have ASG process in background.I have unchecked option "Keep ASG running on Auto submit".Why ASG keeps running whatever I do with this options.I will revert to B491Thanks in advanceEdin

My ActiveSky ver6 has just started acting very strangely. Symptoms are as follows:1) Statup location (NZAA) is fine and update via internet occurs without incident2) Change my location to PHNL to start a new flight3) AS updates itself but gives me the METAR for NZNP instead of PHNL.4) AS main screen shows nearest station as PHIK but METAR below is NZNP5) AS constantly updates itself despite the frequency set to the default 10 minutes in the options6) MET data in the lower part shows INVALID despite me not requesting anything...I have uninstalled and reinstalled more than once. GiddayI have/use ASV6 ActiveSky. When taxiing in wind, the wind often has unwanted [by me] affect causing erratic taxiing performanace, swinging side to side.Are there any settings I can use to eliminate this *without* taking away the wind during a takeoff or landing roll?If not, whats the recommended setting for enjoyable performance? If I Use the Limit Surface Wind Speed option and set the value to zero, do the winds 'all of a sudden' 'kick in' on wheels up?Cheers!

When I choose a some graphics in AS Graphics, the choose "Select this item", click "Send to FS", and then restart FS9, the graphics don't take in FS9. Is there anything special you need to do? What could it be?bgier

Can someone tell me please, how do you uninstall AS6, I dont see an uninstall function within the program or in Add or Remove programs.I have a problem with this program clashing with Radar Contact V 4.0, so I need to uninstall both and start again. Any help appreciated.x(

I am still experiencing visibility problems with the Wx station near my home (starting) airfield - EGTH.I think the main problem stems from an incomplete report from the station that then forces FS9 to do its 'less than 10m visibility' thing. The other Wx stations in the area seem to be fine and I'm getting around to thinking that it might be better to remove this station from ACtiveSky because it cause such a dramatic visibility shift - e.g. this morning in real-world terms is a bright blue sky, massive distance visibility and not a cloud. This Wx station produces a foggy, no visibility result that isn't even close to reality!So, to get rid of the station in ASv6, do I j…

Jim or Damian:Can't bet WideFS to talk to Client and visa versa? Tried reboots, etc. Checked pathing. ASv6-B496 gets WX, but says it can't see FS9? ASv6 claims it's in 'Online Mode'. I have just got back to some serious flight simming and I have Active Sky 4.5 installed. I have noticed that there is Active Sky Ver6 available . Can anyone tell me is ver 6 a stand alone and as such has to be purchased or can 4.5 be upgraded to 6.Thanks in AdvanceFred
