Is the artifically white sun on the horizon (it's always reddish or orange due to refraction through the atmosphere) a MSFS limitation or does ActiveSky do anything to the sun (or moon)? The clouds look pretty good. Thanks.

Just wanted to let you know that you have an inaccuracy with your web site in regards to the .NET framework component requirements. I'm a developer and if you use VS 2003 to produce the ActiveSky6 Graphics program, you will need .NET 1.1. If you used VS 2005, you will need .NET 2.0 framework. Hi,I'm new to Active Sky, Just bought and D/L the current version. I have probably less than an hour of flight time with it and I'm awed by the environment. I'm planning to start virtual Soaring and I'm wondering if AS6 creates Thermals Under Cumulus ? If not, is this in the works? Are there any other visual cues?Also, Please share the optimal settings in Active Sky for Cross Country Soaring, e.g. VAS settings, etc. I was thinking that since FSX will be modelling dynamic birds, maybe AS6 or AS7 can add in circling turkey vultures and redtails as additional visual cues? ;-) Regards,Bill

I'm getting a Main thread process error on AS v6. At first when thie error came up I closed the application and reopened and that fixed the problem. Now I got the message again and cannot get rid of it. I also tried a reboot, but that did not work. Is there a fix for this or I am I doing something wrong ? The build # is 499.Henry

Hi fellas'Going back to FS2002 I still have ActiveSky wxRE V1.7 and over that I installed ActiveSky 2004 Special Install for wxRE users and over that I have the ActiveSky 2004.5 Update.I would now like to install AS6 for FS2004 as I downloaded it today (June 21). My question is... can I uninstall the above and do a fresh install of AS6 or do I have to install over the ones that are already on my hard drive? Will I then have the latest ActiveSky program or is there more to do?Thanks,Max

Just searched the AS6 forum for answer and I now know why I never hear Flight Watch when tuning to 122.0. Flight Watch is only heard on the AS6 computer. In my case, a networked pc without soundcard or speakers.Are there any plans for an option to send the Flight Watch audio to the main flight sim PC?Thanks,Richard

I have been a customer for almost a year now, started with ver 5 and then ran the upgrades etc. I seem to recall haveing to have had ASV installed in order to upgrade, is that correct? Anyway, great product, I love it.I would now like to run AS6 on another machine via wideFS and I have a couple of questions.1. Do I need to uninstall from my current machine? The machine I want to run it on via wideFS is older (P3 800mhz 512 ram), should I even think about it?2. Do I need to reinstall ver 5 on the new machine and then jump through the upgrade hoops again? Or is there a way I can just start fresh with AS6?Thanks in advanceAT

I recently installed Activesky6 on my computer. I have been experiencing a problem where the airspeed indicator resets to 000 indicated airspeed either during climb on or the descent phase of flight. The mach meter continues to operate as do the throttles manually. After a period of time, it seems to reset and the autothrottles work again, and the airspeed returns to the indicator.I have trouble shot this by doing the exact same flight with the exact same aircraft. When I was using FS9 weather the problem did not occur, but did with Activesky weather. Next, I tried the same experiment with a different aircraft with the same results. Hi,I just installed the full version ASv6 and am getting an error each time I start the program. ASv6 is installed on a network computer. The paths to the FS installation on the FS computer and to the Application Data folder on the FS computer are set, as I verified in the ASv6.ini file.The error message occurs as ASv6 is loading. The exact message is: "Error during FS station database check (Step 8)... Stations may not be properly configured for extended-coverage weather depiction..."If I click OK on the error message textbox, the program finishes loading, downloads weather, and appears to be fine.Any ideas on the cause of this error?Thanks,Larry

I have "Auto Refresh AI on First Wx Set" turned on and when it works all is well (the right Rwy etc.). However if it does not update AI (which happens frequently) and then I do it manually by cliking on the refresh AI Button my sound is turned off and even after resetting it with the Q key ATIS audio is still turned off. You are able to hear Ground, Tower etc. but no ATIS. Brian

I just purchased AS v6 after a year of flight simming with fs9.I like to customize weather and have been learning to use the Weather Config. screen. I have two questions. If you want to set weather on multiple stations is it necessary to hit the Update and Save button for each station or can one hit Apply Now and then Update and Save the group. I tried a flight from New York to Tampa and some of the weather did not show up. I then tried a flight from Boston to New York, but did an Update and Save on each station and that worked better although I still had a problem with snow showing up in a fog template. I'm sure I'm making lots of user mistakes as I learn.Also, if weathe…

When using Active Sky, I sometimes save a flight and pick it up the next day. When I do that ... what weather am I actually using when I reload the saved flight?RegardsDave

I've only done two flights, one at high altitude (FL370)and for about 2hours. Is it me, or did SU4 tweak something with regard to the cirrus representation? I spent the entire flight getting distracted by being totally amazed at how the cirrus clouds were looking; they were beautiful and the most realistic I've ever seen! I changed none of my settings and in fact use DTX and 64 bit. Just incredible, guys. And my FS minimization still appears to now be a thing of the past. Mike

Hi,At the last update, we made a single change to prevent ASG from auto-loading at ASv6 start IF Keep ASG Open option (in ASG) is disabled OR auto-submit option (in ASv6) is disabled. The old way of handling it (B491) disregarded the Keep ASG open option, and was not correct in that ASG should not pre-load (and stay open) if you haven't configured it that way.So if ASG is not auto-loading with B499, given that you have auto-submit apparently enabled, it sounds like Keep ASG Open is not enabled. Please give this a check. It should be on.Does this explain and fix things? Thanks!Best,

HiAre these two features in ASG, different?If I understand it correctly random all will always be different, and wx influence also BUT based on wx, OR random textures will make wx influenced very different every time wx changes? I ask because the auto submit is only full sky theme and cirrus theme?Come to think of it I suppose that is everything.

Hi,When you click new route, it brings up a dialog box which allows you to import a flight plan, enter speed, and altitude. After this, you click on process and it brings up the nice nav log which tells you average wind and flight time. This is great! BUT... if I want to "play with the numbers" (altitude and speed) on my route, I must close the nav log, click new route, and reload the flight plan. It's the reloading of the flight plan that is a bit annoying, especially if you have enough flight plans where you have to scroll the file dialog box to select it again.
