HelloI am using both ActiveSky 6 and Flight Environment; AS for sky and cloud textures and FE for water textures only. In AS Graphics the Wx-Influenced option is in use.In FE I have chosen my settings and have clicked on the "Save & Install" button.Now, when using FS9 I do the following:- start AS- start FS- wait for AS to complete the online update.My question is: should I have to run FE each time now, or have the water textures been correctly installed once for all? (Since I only want to use the FE water textures

Hi,I have a problem when I launch the program: In all mode (off or online), ASG don't start when ASV updating all graphics in FS,and ASV is blocked!Auto submit is on.Net framework 2.0 is in my computer.ASV is updated whith the SU3.Thanks for your help.Laurent

I just purchase ASversion 6. It works fine and its basically an AMAZING program. I have just encoutered a problem with the Weather Radar. I open the radar but unfortunely nothing is displayed. I have tried everything possible but it doesnt show anything..for example its raining and snowing and on the radar nothing will show up..how do I fix this problem please???

HiShould the new route (import plan) function be used when fs9 is running or before launching fs9 when i load asv6? Does it even matter when you load it, assuming you fly the same plan that was loaded in asv?Hope its clear thanks!

I downloaded a photoreal version of LIMG, Albenga from here http://www.napulevola.it/products/2006.aspxI have tried to take off and land here with ASV running but both times the wind has been 100 knots, any ideas as to what's going on?Yesterday I took off from Calvi on Corsica in benign conditions and ended up flying sideways at Albenga.John

Hello,I am a very satisfied user of ASv6, I find it to be flawless in operation and the weather systems generated are superb.My question relates to the Active Radar. I know this subject has been raised before. I have read the forum entries over again and again and have, I think,tried all suggestions.I am unable to get any returns on the radar and when I load the flight plan the depicted location of the aircraft is not in the correct place. The weather is listed as loaded and updated but is not correct but even in the current UK drought conditions precipitation is listed as none!I am sorry to bring this old chestnut up but I have tried for many hours to resolve the problem…

When I launch ASv6 all is ok for a while with both icons for ASv6 and AS graphics running minimised in the system tray, then after a while I notice that several icons for AS graphics are running in the tray ??I can exit out of all but one to maintain running alongside ASv6, but again its not long before other instances of AS graphics are up and running again ??Anyone know whats going on here ??

Hi guys,I would like to know whether offline updates revert to online updates automatically when it is needed please?For example, if a flight I want to do that is 12 hours long departs at say 6am UTC but I start it at 10am UTC, I can download the past 4 hours archives and use that actual weather for the first 4 hours, but after that does ASv6 automatically switch to online updates so I continue to get the latest weather during the flight or do I need to switch online updates on myself when the archived weather finishes?Cheers in advance.

I seem to have a wind problem - in FS9 with AS6 - great product BTW!! Example. I load AS and download the current - I do not use live updates. Start FS9, locate to London Gatwick UK in this case. AS6 loads wx into FS9 and gives rain and a wind at 235/13kts.So I plan my flight for a runway 26L departure. I check the ATIS and it is showing the right weather 235/13kts BUT the M$ ATC gives me 08R runway as the active?I have tried the refresh AI too and still 08R is given as the active. A similar thing has also happened to me the last time I flew out of London Heathrow, weather was clearly going to make the 27L or 27R the active, but ATC gave me 09L It looks like somehow that …

Hi All,Quick couple questions.........In ASV6, what features/options change the trim settings of the aircraft I'm flying? It appears that "wake turbulence" is one of the features that moves the trim up and down to simulate wake turbulence. Unfortunately, when this happens, I hear the trim wheel going up and down, and the trim indicator jumps around. I have disabled the wake turbulence feature, but I still find I have uncommanded trim changes, although less dramatic, like when I flair for landing. Is this the VAS option? Or something else? I also randomly experience trim changes mid-flight. If I turn off the VAS and wake turbulence, does that disable all the options …

I ordered ActiveSky 6.0 early today, and I was wondering this. What I currently do is start Notepad and go to the NWS aviationweather.gov site and get METAR/TAFs as well as SIGMETs. Those I copy into the Notepad window. I then use FSBuild to build the flight plan, and generate the Navlog, which is copied into the Notepad window. I print it out, and reboot to run FS.Should I run ActiveSky when I run FSBuild, before I reboot? Would ActiveSky give me weather data that is printable or exportable to Notepad?

Hi All,Ive been a long time FS9 pilot, and have hundreds of dollars worth of addons. I recently added to this with the pruchase of AS6 last night. Installation over widefs went very well, and i had no problems getting up and running. Having read so many good things about AS6, i was keen to stretch it's legs and see what it's capable of.I loaded up at YSSY (my local), and applied a weather theme (thunderstorms). I then took off in my PSS Dash-8 to see the effects of the AS6 generated weather. very nice. I then decided i wanted to see some current weather. I clicked on refresh to pull the current metar. I saw the metar change in the as6 gui, but the changes did not …

I am trying to re-install Active Sky 6 after a re-install of my operating system. I saved all of my data however after running the Active Sky 6 executable, I am only able to access the weather engine. When I try to access the Graphics icon I get a message that the program did not initialize properly.I uninstalled and reinstalled through the control panel add remove programs but continue to get the same result.I have sent a help request to the support line but have not received an answer.Any help with this would be appreciated.Roger Hollands

I've used AS since it first appeared but only recently went for vers 6. I've been using 4.5 up to now. I should say that I use the prog with Wideview so I have the wx view on three monitors. My initial reaction had not been too favourable, in particular AS radar, which I have on my server machine, has seemed to be on a different planet so far as the loaded wx is concerned. This was meant to be the thrust of this post. However, I decided to have one more flight as the basis for some questions. The flt was EGBB to EDDF (with A/soft's mega Frankfurt scenery). This little issue has been bugging me for a long time, and i can't seem to fix it. I am using AS6 on a second computer with Widefs. The second computer is networked with Belkin router. Both can see each other and write to each other. I had no problems with ASV but when i upgraded to AS6 I began having a problem when starting AS. As the probgram loads, the program tells me that it can't find the FS directory in this computer and asks me to browse to it. I do, and accepts it and tells me to save options. Then it tells me that it can't find the FS personal files, and asks me to browse to that one as well. I do again,and again am reminded to save my options. But on the…

When starting FS with Ken Salter's Auto Start program the AS weather will not load. I get the scrolling METAR messange ok but no weather. If I start FS normally without going through Auto Start the weather loads ok. Anybody have an idea what could be causing this. I would hate to go through each thing I have selected not to load during auto start just to find what the problem might be. It doesn't matter if I use AS default settings or not - same results. I've been looking around all day following various threads but cannot cure my problem. When I started up Asv6 and FS 9.1 this morning, ASv6 would not connect to FS 9.1. I've tried deleting the FSUIPC.INI file, have checked the ASv6 config file, and reinstalled ASv6 without any luck. I registered my FSUIPC yeserday last thing in the day but did not restart ASv6 afterwards. I also reinstalled Active Camera this morning before trying to fly. Flying without Active Sky is kind of like kissing your sister. Need some help, Jim or Damian.:(

I've only just started using AS. The first flight was great!! But the next few have been causing my frame rates to drop to 5 from 25!I'm using the default settings as well as lowering some settings in FS 2004. Does that radar run in the background?
