hi, i was doing a flight from egph today, the weather was very misty, after take off i finally broke thru the mist at 12000ft to nice blue skies, i switched to a spot view and everything went as though i was flying back in the mist but when i hit the alt key and brought up the fs menu bar the blue skies came back, see attachment, but soon as the menu bar was unselected the mist was back, im using b500, iwas using the default mooney but this has happened with 3rd party addon aircraft as well. please can anyone help,thanks jim

AS v6 build 500, FS9.1, FSUIPC v3.65 (non-registered), WinXP SP2I tried to fly an offline sequence and the UI keeps telling me there is a "Main thread process error...retrying at next interval" but nothing more happens. This is the first and only error that I have ever had from Active Sky. I saw a previous post on the same error, but it looked like B500 was supposed to fix it. Any idea?Oh, and Happy 4th!!!

I installed ASV yesterday and it runs ok but when I try to access ASG I get an error message Common Language Realtime Debug "Application has generated an exception" and ASG will not open.I checked and reinstalled my .NET Framework and it made no difference.Thanks,Roger Curtiss

Hello!i have a problem, i have never had. i formated my hd and reinstalled FS9, no problems.after installing AS6+ASG new on the hd, ASG could not detect the fs9 folder (or something like this). so i had to set it manually in the ASG options. so, i depicted all the textures i wanted to have. ->send it to FS, and the ASG information window appeared, after a while it says "success...."ok, now running fs9 it looks like this, which looks to me like fs9 default clouds, ...i reinstalled ASG+AS6, this time it didnt ask for the folder, but the result is still the same! i am really angry now...grrr...has anybody an idea? http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/152048.jpg

I've been using AV6 for about 2 weeks and enjoy the program. I've just started to scratch the surface of what appears to be a robust program with many features.I ran into an odd situation recently regarding wind direction. I used a template in weather configurator and applied it to all stations with wind direction of 000. My flight was KPVD Providence RI to KBOS Boston. I went into FS and hit shift z after the weather loaded and the wind showed a direction of 240 confirmed by ATIS. This pretty much remained the same all the way to Boston.I cleared all weather, refreshed, and made sure TAF processing was off, but still had the same problem.Given a magnetic variation of abo…

With FP loaded into radar weather does not show anything other then wind dir and speed.This even occurs when flying into known rain or Tstorms.What is the fix.

Using AS6, I was at 3500' over KORD. Visibility was 10SM has shown below. I could still see downtown Chicago in the distance, though downtown is more the 10SM from KORD. I then went into FS2004 weather and set the visibility to 10SM. The visibility dropped to what I would expect. Downtown Chicago disappeared. I am trying to purchase ActiveSky but the stupid PalPal site is not working properly.I input all the details and it comes back and tells me to fill in the security codes. I have done this numerous times, listened to them and typed them exactly but no joy.Anyone able to help?

HiFirst, i want to thank you about this great program :)i want to do some training about NDB tracking and bracketing technique, so i want that the wind come from a constant angle and constant speed exemple: i'm tracking inbound an NDB and i want that along all the track, the wind must be coming from 300 with a speed of 30 KT.my problem with ASV 6 that i enter the metar string with all parameters but when airborne i get i variable wind ( direction and speed).How can i correct this?Thanks in advance

Hello Everyone,I have been flying with the PMDG 744 pax version on VATSIM for the past few months now and have found that the climb performance is fine up to about FL240 or so and then deterioriates sharply to the point that the plane can barely climb at 100-200 fpm, especially when above FL250. Just bought ACtive Sky yesterday and everything seems ok with the Active Sky part but when i go to start Active Graphics it tells me "The application failed to initaialize properly(0xc0000005).Click OK to terminate the application."I checked via ADD/REMOVE Programs in the control panel and I already have .NET 1.1 installed on my computer. I tried unistalling and reistalling ACtiveSky making sure to follow all of the directions but still no go. Ive got the latest version of FSUIPC in and have run out of ideas. Hi, is there a way to make the horizon line in the distance blend (look blurry) as if it was a poluted day? ALL the time? I don't like the 'hard horizon' line in the distance. I would like to see the blur effect (which you ALWAYS get below 10000FT) how can I do this? I've read almost every post concerning this issue, and visibility distance, FS2004 limitations and/or video card settings are not helping me avoid this. I just want to know if there is a general concensus on what the cause for this is and how to fix it.Thanks,

Hi,I've got Activesky Weather since Activesky 2004 version until the latest version ASV6 (AS2004, AS2004.5, ASV, AS6), each time upgrading from the previous version.I would like to do a clean reinstall of the software.I know I have to install from the first version AS2004, upgrading each time. But do I have to install each beta version (and there are a lot of beta version, I've got all of them) ?Is there an official list of all Activesky version and name (or filename) that I need to reinstall.I've got such files as : AS20045-b182, ASV_Enhanced_Upgrade, ASV-SU1, AS20045-update4, AS2004MR2-b115-RC1, and so on. Attached is a photo which has on the left, ASv6 running and on the right, no ASv6 running.What I wanted to do was to have the ASv6 running with its advantages but to eliminate all the white that is showing up as ground cover.Could someone please let me know which option is unchecked or checked to eliminate the white on the ground in the picture on the left?Many thanks,Matthew

I just installed ASV6 on the WideFS client.At first I thought everything was O.K.But then I realized that if ASV6 knows where the A/C is in the world, can find the correct weather report for that area it doesn't send back to FS9 the correct weather to be displayed.As this is the end of the day I admit I did not really search in the forum and documentation for any clue. But as there is a 6 to 9 hours difference of time between Belgium and the USA I prefer to send a quick request for some help now than waiting another day. I will look into this more in depth tomorrow.I guess the error must come from the paths between WideFS server and client.Any suggestion ?

Hi,I'm using AS6 build 500. I've turned off Haze in both AS6 and FS9 (in the AS6 Options menus) but I'm still getting a Haze layer while on the ground which obscures the cloud details, kind of annoying. Could the visibility limits in the METAR report be controlling Haze irrespective of the settings? It seems to clear up around 10000 ft. I noticed a parameter to suppress updates under 10000 ft? Could this have somethng to do with it? Which settings do I need to change to prevent this from happening? Thanks,Bill

Hi!I`m experiencing a cloud-texture problem. It seems to occur when I use Active Sky`s texture files. Jim or Damian,I have installed WideFS on a second PCI now want to install ASV on it.I think that I followed these steps previouslyA. Installed ActiveSky in 2004B; Upgraded to ASV with ASV-UPGRADE.zip in August 2005C. Installed ASV_Enhanced_Upgrade.zip in October 2005D. Not yet installed ASv6-SU4Question:Must I start all over from ActiveSky on the second PC to install ASV and then continue with the upgrades ?
