I have noticed this behavior before, and I want to know if it is some config problem I have, or if it is something else...(See Attached Pics, taken seconds apart)The visibility appeared to be "flashing" back and forth between a long way (30 nm) and low vis (5 nm). I do have TAF processing enabled. This was using a wx file downloaded 7-13-06 at about 23:00 GMT. It featured TAF's with -TSRA (thunderstorms) predicted over the area I was flying (SW Missouri USA), and I got them. But I also got rapid fire visibility changes. What caused this?It did this whether I had visibility smoothing enabled or not.Rhett

Hi,The fetch never give me the station I ask for even if this station is in the database.If i tip in VTBD it will give VTPH weather. For VTSP i get VTSB weather and so on.Any idea ?

This is not a big issue. However is it possible to obtain a more realistic generation of contrails. As we all know, in TRW they are sometimes not generated by the aircraft. At other times the trails remain in the sky for hours, slowly forming into cirro stratus layers, and all the variations in between. To me the FS9 contrails are standard for all aircraft and all situations, and when applied to ActiveSky the spoil an excellent product.Just a thought.NeilYPAD

I do not need to use Weather Rada and it has caused some performance problems in the past. With earlier versions of ASV updating would reinstall it, but I do not know about the present ASV 6. I am using the latest build of AS 6.I am trying to troubleshoot some stuttering and would like to make absolutely sure Weather Radar is not running.Can I uninstall that sub program? If not how can I disable it completely?Thanks,Greg

A few days after SU4 was released, I downloaded the upgrade version of AS6. (This is the upgrade that "unwraps" the full version when it finds a previous version installed.) Upon unwrapping the download, I found that it was still at SU3. Before I download again, just wondering if the full version upgrade has been changed to SU4 yet.Before you ask, I'll explain why I re-downloaded the upgrade version. Even though SU4 itself installed fine onto my existing AS6 installation, I like to have the latest full version available, to simplify the occasional re-formats and reinstalls that I end up doing about once a year.Thanks!Dan

Hi, when the writing process is complete and fs loads the AS weather, there is a small pause, where the motion of the aircraft stops for a second. It is like if you press P during the flight. Is there a way to fix that problem, or do we have to hope that FSX does not behave like that. Jan-Paul

hi,this is probably not a specific Active Sky problem but rather a question maybe for Chris Willis or any other user with a LD screen or better, with the Dell 2405. half year ago or so i switched from my old 21" CRT monitor to a LCD DELL 24" (2405). I'm running this monitor in native mode (1920x1200x32 at 60mhz) with a 7800GTX card (84.21 nvidia forceware). Beside some recent clouds flickering (view distance is set to 29nm in AS, and i recently switched one notch higher (i think its 128x128, have to check when i'm home) from the lowest cloud setting (64x64 i think)..maybe thats the reason for the recent clouds flickering...will check again)...CPU is AMD3200 with 1gb ram).…

Hi guys, I've never had any problems when using AS6 up until tonight. I tried to open up AS6 but ran into an error when it was loading the program. It'll give me this error "Initialization error reading files (Error Step 9). Please verify your files and reinstall." I tried to reinstall AS6 but it only returned with the same results. Not sure where to go from here. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Has anyone else noticed a problem with ASV6 and the 737 PIC? When I have ASV6 running with this plane loaded, I get some strange activity on both the 2D panel and the VC. On the 2D, whenever I put the cursor over the "Simicons" to bring up a sub panel, and the MCP to adjust the autopilot, I get the entire panel shifting and a bleed through on the bottom of other parts of the panel. I know that makes little sense, so let me put it this way. It's as though something is snapping a screenshot of an earlier segment of the flight, and that screenshot - or a part of it depending on where I've placed the "Simicon" panel - comes through when I put the cursor over either of those a…

I own version 4.5 and am going to purchase version 6. In version 4.5, I didn't need to file a flight plan for Active Sky to work -- I started a flight within flightsim and then opened Active Sky which loaded the weather . Is version 6 the same way? I hope so.

Hi Jim and Damian,as an old user of wxRE/ActiveSky I may say that this program grew up to be one of the most important in my simming experience.I've noticed just one little annoyance: when resuming a saved flight with RadarContact V4 (which saves a .wx file, a situation file for itself and FS situation file), I have to clear wx thru FSUIPC then refresh to get accurate wx depiction. If I just hit refresh (to get continuing wx updates-always offline, obviously), I'll get incorrect winds aloft (ASV will depict at altitude the surface wind at nearest station). Hi GuyS !!It is a long time i am using this wonderful tool for weather generation.. Lately i am encountering a strange behaviour when i land and there is a bit of turbolunce or even when ther eis not turbolence once i disconnect the autopilot and pilot the plane manually about at 500-600 feeto from Rwy the plane dive pitch the nose down and i have to lift it like the re is always a windshear situation. How can i avoid it happens again? Is there any function i can chaeck? Thank You Alfredo

Guys,somehow I managed to lose the Active-Radar-DLL. Is there any way to get it back WITHOUT a complete reinstall of ASV6? Besides that I am not to much looking forward doing the de- and new- installation, I just checked my backup drive and found out that I only stored all the upgrade files but not the very very first version of ASV with the full installation.If there should be any need to confirm that I am a registered user and have a legal copy of your great programm, I surely will find a receipt from you in my e-mail folder.Thanks for your help and kind regardsAlex

Why when I'm in a rain storm (or simple in the rain) with web download METAR I have always a blue sky above me? I've never see the clouds over me! Very strangeThanks

I was looking to see if anyone may be able to help me sort this out. I seem to be having a problem with AISmooth while running ASV6 - maybe! I say maybe, because I am trying to rule out ASV6 as the problem. Back a few months ago I had ASV6, FS9, and AISmooth all running harmoniously together. One day recently I noticed I was getting the old FS9 stacked traffic on final approach resulting in go-arounds. After looking further, I realized that AISmooth was disapearing somewhere in the mix after ASV6 and FS9 was started. I've got FSUIPC 3.65 and WideFS 6.65 working correctly (Squawkbox works, so does my remote moving map). just done another flight out of egph no clouds or precip. temp. 15 dew 10 the sky was very hazy, is this down to the temp. can you change this in the asv options. thanks,jim
