Hello to all;I heard that the readings from the weather stations are made every 1 hour, so then why will I need the weather software used by FS2004 update the weather in FS2004 in less than one hour intervals if this will be the same for the next hour.Thank you for your time.

hi all,i'd like to save a custom skytheme with the smooth horizon day texures. but everytime i start AS i get another horizon so it looks crappy (the well known horizonline of fs).it worked once for me so i got a smooth horizonline with a visibility over 30.so how the f... can i save my custom skytheme and make AS to USE it?!meanwhile im really annoyed...thx in advance greets burt

I haven't seen any posting - so just in case you missed it, WideFS 6.70, and FSUIPC 3.70 were released July 28th. Hello,Is there a simple way to set the wind direction and speed to be the same at all altitues and locations?I have read all the applicable posts I could find. I understand that the metar wind settings apply only to 3000' and below. I have read how to save a wx file then edit the various winds aloft directions and speeds.I was hoping for an easier and faster way; like the FS9 weather options. In FS9 I can set the winds to anything I want with a few clicks.Thank for listening!Alan

Hi, this is my first post here, so I apologize if I'm doing something wrong.Just recently I bought ASv6, and I'am having a problem with the sky and cloud textures. Here's what the sky looks like at dusk. In a previous post regarding smooth horizons, you offered an excellent tip that helped me with sharp horizons, keep all flight levels looking smooth and realistic, and also helped my clouds from popping (in and out often in large cities with lots of weather stations - popping in and out repetatively). Hi allASVv6 and ASG installation on a widefs-machine was ok. Also started ASV ok, but I am not able to run ASG. I get a window as the one depicted in the picture attached. Clicking "Continue" only brings a new one, "Quit" closes everything. What is this "security policy" thing? How do I change it so that ASG starts? As instucted I first uninstalled .net version 1.1, rebooted and then reinstalled .net version 2.0. What is wrong?/Esbj

Hi all,When beeing near to Brussels EBBL I experience a FS breakdown; not CTD or black screen, FS just freezes for a couple of minutes and then quits. I finally got the weather generator to work properly and wow! I am glad I bought this little addon. But now I am trying to get ActiveSky Graphics to work with FS9. Do I have to apply the new textures to a flight plan or can I change the textures to my default flight setup, restart and enjoy the new textures. I can't seem to get ActiveSky to change my FS9 textures. I'll continue to reread the manual and try different things. I am sure I just missed some all important detail.until then...thanks,John

I just purchased AS6 and love it....I would like to use FE clouds and textures...I have already loaded in AS6 clouds and textures and they look great but would like see how the FE clouds and textures work...Do I just load up FE before FS and AS6 to make the change or do I need to turn something off in AS6 before doing that...I would think that just loading the FE textures before loading as6 weather engine would do it but I could be wrong....2. Can anyone direct me to a good thread or article with some "best settings" for the AS6 weather engine for the most real experiance...I'm hoping to gain on other simmers endless hours of experime…

Hi AllAny experience out there of using ASV6 and Xtrawater now available as a free d/l? After a lot of experimenation I am finding ASG every bit as good as FE in depicting sky and cloud textures except there are no water textures in ASG. Hi,I have a problem with AS not connecting. At the top it says "FS DICONNECTED" and down farther in the text area below "fetch a report"it says,"FS is not yet connected - Default 0/0 coordinates have been loaded...Please load a flight plan (New Route) to set proper location..."Even after i set a flight plan or route, it still doesn't connect.??Anybody?

This rarely happens, but it sometimes does. Once in a while (it's hard to tell when), but here's the scenario:I start ActiveSky (in Pause mode). I load FS9. I get situated at the gate, FS ready and waiting.I go back to Activesky, import the Flight Plan, hit Refresh. I see ActiveSky download the weather and update stations.I go back to FS and notice that the weather hasn't updated. It's the default clear skies, winds calm, altimeter 29.92. I go back and read the METAR on ActiveSky and it says (clouds, altimeter 29.87 (or whatever). I double check my weather setting in FS and it's set to User-defined weather.I shut everything down, start all over again and it's fine.W…

I was flying in the south of England yesterday real wx was about 26 deg C and much of the landscape was covered in snow. I have noticed this before at odd times so I uninstalled then reloaded FS9 in case I had a corrupt file somewhere, but I've got the problem back. I did a search for 'snow' in this forum and it appears other people have had the same problem.Has anyone that had this problem before found a fix please.ThanksGlen

The other night I took a short trip in a GA into my hometown and upon descending came into a really turbulent T-storm. I was really surprised at how close the lightning was in the sim. Every time I've been in storms in the past, the lightning always had this same look and distance to it. This flight I had really close and bright bolts all around me. Really neat and perhaps I just don't fly enough in bad weather to have noticed this.The funny part was I didn't know a storm was brewing outside, so after I exited the sim I went out to see what eventually was a major monsoon storm move across the valley. Have just bought new computer and just got round to installing all my prog's. Installed FS2004, had trouble updating to FS9.1 because of old FSUIPC.dll which i had liscenced to me, unistalled FS9.1 and all was well, didnt have FS9.1 on my old computer so didn't worry. But now when i installed ASv6 which worked well on my old computer will not connect on my new computer. I read on this forum that vers. 3.65+ was needed, I had vers. 3.4+ before when all was well so as I thought this was the problem I downloaded the latest Vers. 3.7+ and installed it over my old one in the modules folder in my FS9 dir. My Active Sky 6 is working fine, but the green bar with the nearest METAR has stopped appearing. It tries to come up, the green bar flashes on, but then it goes away and never displays the update. It was working fine a week or so ago, and then just stopped working. As far as I can tell the weather is doing what it is supposed to. To answer the obvious, yes, to display the METAR is checked on the Options page.Bill

Hi,Just an understanding question.I am located now (0800Z), virtually in FS, on Asyut Intl (HEAT), where the METAR is CAVOK. I am surprised that ASV6 generates a dense layer of clouds just where the HEAT METAR is located. I was preparing a flight to Saudi Arabia (OETB), and all the METAR stations on my flight path are CAVOK as well.If I disable the cloud generation with CAVOK, I obviously get a clear sky. I would have expected a few sparse clouds but not such a thick layer.Can someone explain why I get such a difference ? 1) When upgrading to a new service release, if I run Active Sky on a WideFS pc, to I have to run the service upgrade on both PCs or only the WideFS PC?
