I've done 3 different flights in the last few days with the ASG box checked. In the past this always seemed caused FS to minimize after AS6 finished its initial processing. I think there may be a link between this problem and the presence of a VC cockpit. Hard to believe, but here's what happened: Rechecked 'Keep ASG runing on autosubmit' then I ran a flight with the PMDG 737 with no virtual cockpit loaded and there was no minimization. Then ran a flight the next day with Milton Shupe's Aerocommander with a VC. POP! FS minimizes after initial processing. Then, did a flight with Aeroworx King Air, no VC loaded and no minimization. Hi gang, I am using ASV6, build 470 on a WideFS computer. I went through procedure for installing Active Radar through the activeradarconnector program via a mapped network drive from my FS9 computer. ASV6 works flawlessly otherwise. I have reinstalled activeconnector three or four times now. It responds and verifies the installation each time. Active Radar then works for one flight then never after that. It is as if it disconnects itself from my wideFS computer and only receives wind data. Just had to re-install WinXP, FS etc. Got to installing Active Sky, adn I got a message about it being unable to find my personal application data folder. Pointed to the folder using the box that appears (after having to set the folders to view hidden & system files as it is a hidden folder), and then get a file initilization error.Tried sharing the folder as suggested in the forum - still no go. HiI have reinstalled W XP on my coputer. My FS installation was backuped. When I try to start ASv6 I got the message "Run time error 339. Component chilkatZip2.dll are missing" or something like that.Should I make a comple reinstall of ASv6 and if thats the case how does I perform that.Thomas B

Help please.I'm a little lost here. A week ago i decided to uninstall fs9 totally. Now i'm rebuilding, adding addons etc. I allways archieve all my addons in folders on my harddisk. Now i see that i have a lot of active sky files, updates and versions. I just like to verify if i have the right version. The version of ASV6 i have is 43,863 KB. Is this the correct one? I believe I understand updates to refer to updating newly downloaded weather into FS 9 every "x" minutes, and that is what throttling is refering to.But if I choose not to update, then does AS6 download the entire weather everywhere in the country into FS 9 on startup? Or as one flies from area to area is there an ongoing "update" of the weather that is updating and is affected by the throttling process as well?Hope this question makes some sense.Thanks,Greg

I recently reinstalled XP pro and FS9 on my main computer. AS6 is on remote computer. I mapped all drives and shareing all proper folders.I ran the ActiveRadarConnect from my FS9 comouter and all went well.When I start AS6 on the FSwide machine, I keep getting message unable to find FS9 folder. then it ask me to locate the FS9 folder. I scroll to my network and highlight the FS9 folder, and press ok.I then keep getting this message"Initalization Error reading files.. Please verify your files or reinstall"I hit ok, Then AS6 loads and seems to work ok.Please helpBill M

I am not sure if this is possible but I think it would be a good idea to provide some type of interface for controllers on VATSIM to update the ATIS messages in Flightwatch. Then pilots could hear the real messages from live ATC for their departure/arrival airports and runway information also. In areas that aren't controlled or the controller has not updated his ATIS then Flightwatch can do the same metar reads it does now. Like I said I am not sure how feasible this is because you would probably have to work with the controller software developers so everyone can be on the same page. Hi all,Beta B485 is now available... the pinned beta post has been updated with the new download link.This addresses one small issue with throttling during the "Synthesis" process and adds a .ini configurable option to further throttle (slow) certain processes including this one. Can be helpful on low-end systems to prevent CPU performance issues with other add-ons running at the same time (less than 700MHZ). Most users will not need this.Best,

Hi guys, really enjoying the program, its made a huge difference to the flying experience and kept my interest in FS2004 (as the default weather engine is so lame). I do however have 1 annoying issue..Whenever I try and load activesky graphics I get an error message saying:C:WindowsMicrosoftframeworkv1.1.4322mscorwrks.dll could not be loaded?Do any of you know what this means and how to correct the problem?I also want to take this opportunity to say how excellent Active Sky's customers service is, as I recently payed for the update when I didnt need to and they refunded me the difference!Cheers,Steve

Hello:While coming into KDEN today AS6 b was reporting winds 250/50knts. A fellow UAL pilot was the and his winds showed 297/24knts. ServInfo showed 297 with gusts to 18. I'm using build 482.Any reason for the big difference? BTW, ShiftZ showed 250/50 too.

So I seem to be having an issue when I come into large cities. The weather will "pop" (definition- change rapidly back and forth LOL) between clear and a depiction of what I would call haze or low visibility. This will usually cause water color to change textures to be more vibrant and then fade out again and it is a little annoying...I was just wondering what setting could be causing this? Is it the Fog Layer Generation. OK, I've reinstalled FS9 on my WideServer PC but still have my existing ASv6 installation on the WideClient PC. Do I have to re-install ASv6 on the WideClient or just re-run the ActiveConnector? I know during the full ASv6 installation it asks for the mapped-share drive to the WideServer PC and the FS9 installation directory and the app-settings directory, so I'm wondering if anything is actually copied to FS9 at this point or is it just setting the path for ASv6's .ini file? Hi - Please can someone help me. I have ActiveSky v6, but for some reason the only weather station that it defaults to is the Seattle one. If I fly anywhere in the world, what do I need to do to ensure that the latest METAR is downloaded from that local weather station?Please can someone give me the process here ? When I disregard it and unpause FS9, everything appears normal and after a while AS6 resumes normal operation.What is this? Does the new beta release take care of it?Fritz

Hi,First of all, I must say that I'm a very happy user of your outstanding product!I'm running Squawkbox3 (a program for multi-player on-line flying) and ASV6 on a mini-itx system with a 533MHz cpu (fan less). All went fine till I upgraded from SU3 to SU4...What is happening:If SU4 is 'synthesizing the weather' (don't remember the correct words by heart, but it looks like a new phase to me) it graps the cpu for quite some time. This causes Squawkbox3 to loose contact with the VATSIM server and it will disconnect...Is my observation correct? Does SU 4 temporarily need more cpu power? If so could that be (optionally) temporised so other applications running on the same cpu …

Not sure where to start. I had to reinstall Win XP and FS9. FS9 will not connect to the internet for the weather. FS9 works fine on another PC here. I purchased ASv6 and it appears to have the same problem connecting to the internet. It starts, initilizes and then just keeps says it's 'connecting to HiFi Datanet" and thats all it does. I installed the ASv6 program on that other PC and it works perfectly (as near as I can tell anyway). It starts inits, then d/l's 390K worth of data and it fills the top 3 box's with the closest reporting station data(KLAS) in this case. I guess the question would be, is there some setting I have missed on this machine for ASv6? I hav…

Hello,Today, I noticed that the weather depiction in Active Radar in ASV6 is not synchronizing with Active Sky's weather. For example, if the Zulu time in the ASV forecast shows 031751 (date/zulu time) the active radar shows the previous update time of, say 031551, even after the green update text passes by the top of my screen indicating ASV6 has updated the latest forecast for closest station. If I manually enter KJFK in the the FETCH A REPORT portion of ASV6, the zulu time is ahead of what is shown in Active Radar. Hi Jim,I noticed something not very important, but I would like to let you know about : In my region (Greece) when I ask ASv6 to fetch a METAR, say any airport, it brings it along with a TAF belonging to another Greek airport or even to an airport of neighbouring countries. I have taken into account that not all APTs do have published TAFs, but those I ask about it is known that they have.Is it going to be fixed with the upcoming official update ?Thanks,Sotiris.

I see this option in the graphics engine.Does it mean random selection of textures or what?Is it related to system resources?I've tried it several times, didn't like the visuals, and replaced some cloud textures to get the effect I wanted.Can you enlighten me on this?Eytan

I would like to know the utility to import or create the FPLAN route in ASV6...I've bought ASV6 a week ago, since I believe that is the BEST wx software and I use FS9.1 as a training software Andy
