Maybe a stupid question but will Active sky still be around for FSX will HIFI try to make the current version 6 work with the new sim?Of course thats assuming there won't be a complete new weather engine written for FSX, if there is i guess you start from scratch right?

I am using AS6 as the weather engine and FE for the clouds and water. Now, what should the weather change scale be in the FS itself. I noticed before it was on medium, but lately it has been changing back to zero. Does it matter since I am using AS6?Thanks allFlygirl

There use to be a time when you could see the rain/snow on the radar but this has disappeared over the last few updates. Do you have any ideas what causes this?

Hi, This is just a quick question but something i can't figure out. I'm currently flying on a heading of 145 degrees. From my Nav log the avr wind direction is 327 degrees. As the wind is travelling pretty much in the opposite direction to what i am flying this be a headwind. However from my PMDG EFIS display and FMC it reports it as a tailwind. How is this so?Thanks

Hi, the newest Beta Version causes stutters with incomming voice with teamspeak during the synthesis process. When writing of the weather station starts, the voice stutters are gone. Jan-Paul

I'm back to cause more trouble :)I loaded up FS9/ASv6 this morning for a quick flight and found that the weather outside the window in no way matched that on the screen. The airfield I fly from 95% of the time is about 15 miles from where I live, so the weather out of the window usually reflects that at the field. The real-world weather was grey and thickly overcast, but the weather on-screen was blue sky with fluffy clouds dotted around (very much like a default FS sky). ASv6 was loading METARs, but what I noticed was that ASv6 loaded the local METAR twice (despite pre-loading a flightplan starting at the airfield) and on the second time the METAR had the word 'AUTOGEN' i…

I'm trying to figure out how to configure offline weather. I've been doing it, but I'm not sure I'm doing it properly. This doesn't make sense to me, because when loading a FP, the NavLog produces (displays) your weather. If online updates are off, then how would it know what weather to load, and if you download the archive file first before loading a FP, then it surely doesn't contain weather for the whole world, right?? What are the steps to ensure the weather is accurate for that time and locale? Also, do I need to download consecutive hours, and if so, is the format how many hours or a zulu time? In regards to TAFs, why should they be disabled by default? Do they j…

Hello. first of all I love active sky 6. It make everything more realistic and has help me enjoy my flightsim even more since I got it. Again good job guys! :)Now to the point. I have never updated my av6. So today I installed the service update 3 from feb-13. and the beta 4. so maybe dumb questing but, those the update "3" include updates 1 and 2 or do I need to get then as well?

Sir,In reading the posting from Vox-TM, I also have a question along those lines. I also normally fly "in the past" so to speak due to my work schedule. I normally use downloaded weather from the archives to match my flight time. However, I noticed that when I do my set up and auto submit my weather influenced textures that it uses the current system date/time with the archive data to determine the intial weather. I normally turn off the TAF processing just during set up to get it more accurate for the flight time. Is there a way to better do this or even is it possible that an intial flight time option could be included in a future update?BradKELP/KBIF http://home.elp.rr…

Hi allI've recently purchased ASv6 and am still getting to grips with how it works and reading up on how to get it working optimally. One thing that I am having trouble with is whether ASv6 can handle me overriding the current time in FS9. Let me explain... Because I can only fly when I get home from work, it tends to be after dark. So I run ASv6 and load a flightplan, then run FS9 and load the same flightplan. Then, because I don't want to fly at night, I change the time to a couple/few hours before (say around dusk) and then fly.Once airborne, I seem to get a fair amount of non-smooth, radical changes between types of cloud coverage and I'm wondering if this is because I…

I uninstalled the beta completely, reinstalled AS 6 and still getting strange winds. Flew fro EHAM ti KIAD today. Landing at KIAD I had 259/59. Looking at SB3 .metar KIAD vrbl at 5. Yesterday while flying to EHAM the PSS 777 was gaining and losing altitiude, we we're almost across the pond. Switch to MSFS active weather and everything settled out. Tried to reconnect AS 6 and it started to bounce around again.Any thought guys?

Sir,After over a year of no problems, I've had my first anomaly with AS. Like a hundred times before, I did the recommended d/l weather, auto submit textures, then fired up FS9. My flight was from PHOG to PHNL at 0200 local - 23 Apr 06. It appears that some of the clouds loaded were for daytime and not fully processed. The pics below really show better what I

Can someone explain the effects of the prevent all icing option unchecked. With option checked there is never icing and when unchecked I get severe icing to the point where descending to lower altitudes to regain airspeed and not stall. The airliners used is PMDG's 747-400F and Level-D 767. The engine anti-ice option becomes ineffective and over extended periods the plane may become uncontrollable.I am thinking the effects are overstated as the conditions experienced would require an immediate landing with the condition lasting maybe 15 or 30 minutes.Any ideas would be appreciated.

I recently purchased and installed Active Sky v6.I am experiencing Crash To Desktop (CTD) problems while running FS2004, and I had contacted Microsoft Support. They suggested 4 steps:1. Uninstall the game.2. Remove the game's folder.3. Create a new user account in Windows XP Home.4. Reinstall the game using new user account. While in step 2 (Remove the game's folder), I get stuck with an 'Error Deleting File Folder': "Cannot delete Voice1: The directory is not empty."Voice1 is an Active Sky folder that sits in: ModulesASv6VoiceThis Voice1 folder has 0 bytes and was created at the time I installed Active Sky.There is no way to delete this folder, I keep on getting the same …

Had a strange ALT readout at Gatwick (EGKK) yesterday and today.I am using Gary Summons (UK2000) Gatwick Pro scenery. If I enter the correct QNH as given by ASv6 the airport altitude is incorrect. From memory I think the QNH was 1022mb but if I pressed 'B' to reset the altimeter the pressure went to 1028mb.BTW the aircraft was the PMDG744.Anyone have any ideas?Dave
