So I understand that weather suppression basically keeps the METARs for the destination and surrounding weather stations to update so you don't get a sudden weather change during arrival. Does this then mean the weather at any point within that suppression area will remain static? The other night I flew into DFW and ActiveSky had positioned a very nasty thunderstorm almost right on top of the airport. Visibility was so poor I missed the first ILS approach and flew around for another try. As I was circling around it occurred to me that had I opted to go hold somewhere to wait for the t-storm to drift off or let up a little, I might have ended up waiting forever due to …

Jim,as per my thread on the FS9 forum.these are my AS6.5 and FS settings, is there anything here you can see as a potential problem?I cannot understand why AS6.5 would suddenly crash and also make FS crash at the same time. I do note that this has just started since I have been flying online again and was wondering if there was any problems with SB3..? I am sure that I have in the SB settings to let FS control the weather...?I always start AS before FS its just recently I am having this problem?http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/174503.gif

I'm thinking of getting the X bundle and had a few questions after I read the online manuals:1) Are the "static items" like runways, lighting, roads, etc. randomized each time when active sky goes into xgraphics to retrieve wx influenced materials?2) If the above is true, would I load my preferred "static items" then uncheck them in the xgraphics advanced options tab?3) I have Ultimate Terrain X. How does XGraphic handle the road and water textures. Does it overwrite UTX textures? Thanks in advance.

I always specify a time usually different then system time in FS.I see where I can set historical time.Do I set my time here and then set it the same is FS or can I just set it in FS?If I do that will I be getting the current weather?Hope I am explaining myself. Also,I am new to this.Got an Xengine error message when first loading, clicked thru it and everything seemed fine.Closed ASX and reloaded.Didn't get the xengine message but did get another one and ASX froze and would not keep loading.Turned off my anti-virus (have to do this with Ultimate terrain X) and it loaded with no error messages.Don't know if this is significant. Thanks for the help.Ron

Hello!Thank you for a nice addon!I would like to know how to do this:With real weather active, I would like to edit the weather at my destination only, maybe I will make sure I will get a runway of my choice, or I will make sure I will get low visibility and clouds. So I am standing at an airport, with CAVOK, my destination has FEW clouds and no wind.Is there a way to edit the weather at the destination only (with a radius, of course)?I have tried to edit the weather, but then I get the same wind/weather at my departure airport as well.Hoping for a reply.Regards, tore Stabell,Oslo,Norway

Hi guys - Most of the time when I start a flight w/o a flightplan, I click report, enter the airport ID and click install graphics. A few times I've gotten a dark tarmac texture that shimmers badly like the old FS9 with bad mip settings. I've gone into XG and selected a different texture to use but for some reason when I do the steps above the shimmery one occasionally gets installed.I have no problems with mip settings ie no shimmers anywhere but on the tarmac. Is there a way to force ASX not to use that texture and secondarily why is it shimmering?Thanx,VicVisit the Virtual Pilot's Centerwww.flightadventures.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterRadar Co…

Is it possible to suppress the weather change around the airport like we could in ASV6?I did not see any option and I thought I read where it wasn't in.I kind of had a nasty situation tonight where the wind shifted between the time I got runway clearance, and the time I landed. I had a head-on with some AI on the runway. If there was some way to prevent wind shifts below a certain alt or around the destination that would be great.RhettAMD 3700+ (@2585 mhz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (Guru3D 93.71), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2gb Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8 (1T), WD 150 gig 10000rpm Raptor, WD 250gig 7200rpm SATA2, Seagate 120gb 5400 rpm external HD, CoolerMaster Praetorian

I love the product overall but the cumulus clouds are just killing it for me. They look horrid and not even close to anything real. They have no volume and the shades of gray and white are just plain wrong. The sky and the clouds both look very cartoonish and are in fact much worse than standard fsx. I miss realsky3 for its sky and cumulus. Am i doing something wrong? I have tried every combination of cumulus with the same cotton ball fake look to each. The cirrus look awesome but at this point i just want my realsky clouds back without losing the rest of xgraphics which is fantastic like the roads and airport addons, lightning etc. Any ideas for getting realistic looking…

Hi GuysAfter trying a roll-over of SP1 over the original install, and not being totally happy with the performance, I decided to start over with a vanilla install. So far, so good: FSX and all the rest de-installed, new install, SP1, and then FSUIPC. All went without a hitch. However, when I attempted to install ASX (the bundle with AS Graphics), I got an error when attempting to open the auto-run starter : "auto run starter has encountered a problem, and must be closed", or whatever it's called in english (I have the german version of XPPro SP2, with an english version of FSX Deluxe btw)When I attempt to run the manual installers for both programmes, I get the following e…

Hi DamianI have been a customer for over 3 yrs and before my computer crashed was running ASv6.5 with graphics for FS9 and running ASX and Graphics for FSX. I was able to save about 95% and my FS9 installation. I stilled had the install download for ASX on my computer and was able to reinstall it with no problems. I have both FS9 and FSX running again. My only problem is with ASv6.5. Apparently some files need to be either registered or to be conected with XP and Im getting an error message suggesting that I reinstall ASv6.5. My problem is that I no longer have the setup program for this on my computer. Is there any way that you can help me with this?SincerelyDon Gore

Hi,I have made numerous flights with ASX and default FSX aircraft. However, Some flights, when I am in the airbus or boeing at > 18000ft, my IAS temporarily gives a reading of "000" with my thrust levels remaining at 65 - 70% which it was holding whilst maintaining the IAS of 290kts before "glitching".the proper IAS reading soon kicks in again, but every time it does, it causes my a/c to overspeed as the IAS shows at 400+ knots initially, requiring soiler deployment to get back to a desired speed.I'm trying to figure out of this is due to ASX or if its an issue with the BETA versions of FSINN for SP1?anyone else experience this?

I was trying to convey various winds-aloft data from my WideClient ASX session to my LDS767 FMC on the WideServer. It then occured to me that what we need is the ability to step-through the FP waypoints on the map rather quickly and easily. At each FP waypoint on the map, we need to be able to see various winds-aloft data for that waypoint. This helps get the data into the FMC for VNAV descent points. In ASv6, there was a table at the end of the brief that showed all the waypoints and all the FL winds-aloft for each waypoint, very neatly. In both the ASX-map and the Xguage, please add a +/- buttons that would allow you to step through the Flightplan on the map (both fo…

I've setup a current date & time transAtlanic flight from Orlando to London, kinda boring, so I used the increased simulation speed control and also saved the flight. I'm just curious to know how does ASX function when the simulation rate is increased and what is the source of weather being generated when a saved flight is reopened? Is it the current weather conditions when ASX was initially opened, is the weather adjusted when the simulation speed is substantially increased. On saved flights is it the weather when initally started or is it the weather when the flight is restarted? Also do you need to activate ASX before starting FSX and restarting a saved flight?I …

I need to enter in FMC true direction of wind and speed at certain cruise altitude. Are winds aloft on the Briefing page of ASX given in true directions? If not pls explain how to calculate their true direction based on the table there.Thanks,Dirk.

Hi. I have a some problem with AS6.5 and FS9.When generating clouds on enroute, FS9 stutters.I usually have 30FPS, but FSP dropped 15FPS with that condition. I tried lower screen resolution than WUXGA to SXGA or XGA, the result didn't change. Is this a specification of FS9 or a some trouble? If someone have any solution, please reply. :)Thanks.Sugi--My system is as follows: Intel Core2Duo E6600 2GB RAM (DDR2-800MHz) GeForce8800GTX 768MB 320GB HDD x 2 Mitsubishi MDT241WG (WUXGA) CH Products FIGHTERSTICK USB CH Products CH THROTTLE QUADRANT CH Products PRO PEDALS FS9(FS2004) ASV6.5 + ASG PMDG737NG FSS SAAB340B FSFDT FSInnMy special config(fs9.cfg) is as follows CLOUD_DRAW_DIS…

Hi All, I have had the ActiveSkyX and X-Graphics package for a week or two and can quite safely say that its the best yet. The difference that it makes to FSX is such that I never fly without it! The only fly in the ointment as it were, is that every now and then I get purple water by the coastlines. This effect only seems to happen by coastlines and only during quite cloudy days. My system is an Intel Conroe 6400, 2Gb RAM running on XP. Graphics card is an nVidia 7900GS running the 93.71 standars drivers. Below are three links to screenshots that show this effect:http://www.astroccd.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/i...1-55-50-203.jpghttp://www.astroccd.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/i...1-…

Evening all,To cut a long story short, i accidently clicked the "Normal Defaults" button in FSUIPC (registered V3.60) when intending to press the "clear all weather" button which is just below it :-( - Ive managed to get back all my original settings apart from the visibility settings, which i cant remember what they were. The main problem at the moment is: No matter what altitude im at if the current station that AS is retreiving its weather from reports the visibility to be anything different from 9999 - the visibility up at my altitude will drop to the reported visibility, so at times when it reports 2000 say i can't see anything.Cheers,Nat

Forgive me if these questions have been asked earlier. I'm basically interested in knowing three things:1. How do I confirm if ASX is actually working in FSX?2. What is the start-up procedure when using ASX and FSX? Should I start ASX before FSX - or can I do this once FSX is running? 3. Should I choose real-world weather - or user-defined weather - in FSX?Sure hope someone can help on this. Thanks!
