Greetings,I was wondering if someone could help me with getting good overcast conditions for IFR flying.My system:FlightOps PC:ASX & XGraphics on remote VMWare machine.Flight PC:AMD 64 x2 4200+ATI X850 Ultra AGP 8x2GB RamFPS set to 20Cloud density MAX; draw distance 60nmI like to fly into areas with custome wx set to minimums. As an example: CYVR 1200 OVC visibility 2 miles. I've been using ASX all morning trying to get the overcast simulated. Howerver it just doesn't seem to get depicted correctly. In one case I set the base at 500 and the tops at 1500. At 2000ft I can still have VFR conditions. Does anyone have any tips or tricks that'll help me achive decent IMC co…

FSX has the ability to provided multiple visibility layers. I don't see that functionality in ASX. Is it used at all in ASX? You can get some really nice overcast utilizing that. Thanks,-Matt

For AS6.5How often is current Wx snapshot text file updated when using online Wx during a flight or parked at the gate? I did not disable updates while on the ground.Is ther a way to force a snapshot update prior to using FSbuild to do a new flight plan prior to departure?I did a new route (same as the originsl) in AS but it did not create a new snapshot .. the original from an hour previous was still there.I also tried "refresh" but it did not generate a new snapshot.I had to sit at the gate for 1.5 hrs, so the wx had changed.As a result FSbuild created the same winds aloft etc.

Maybe I'm a bit thick today but what's the difference between the following two scenarios and which would be more realistic?1) I select custom textures for clouds, roads, etc and install same. Assuming I am only considering real-time weather, what would I see that is different between AS6.5 and XG vs. ASX and XG?In other words, what enhancement to every day real-time weather would I get by switching from AS6.5 to ASX?

I just got 6.5 .. perfect install!The only points I am not clear on is Starting, Loading and SubmittingActive Sky Graphics ... and its options menu selections, to avoid problems when using AS6.5 with MSFSX. Used it in FS9 and pressed the AS graphics button to "load" it into FS9 ........ Worked great!Tried AS6.5 with MSFSXAS6.5 started okNow without pressing the AS graphics button to LOAD it into FS .. because I read it is not supported in FSX ... Hi,I have the ASX & XG bundle.My first question is about the settings screen. What I want to accomplish is to ALWAYS have some level of turbulence when I am flying. I assumed that the way to do whis would be to set the "minimum turbulence" option (and also "minimum cloud turbulence")in the settings screen to some percentage, but even setting this up at 50% does not accomplish this, at least I often cannot detect any when flying around in the Cessna (yes, the maximum turbulence setting is above this, at 100%). I can see that the actual weather data lists layers with no turbulence, and also that I have the option to edit this and thereby put some tubulence in. But if I …

when ever active sky X runs and I load up the flight 1 atr 72-500 the switches in the overhead panel start turning on and off by themselves repeatedly. I tried to reload the atr but its still a problem. Some times its so bad the FSX has a fatal error and crashes to desk top. One time I got the ATR to fly with minimal switches turning on and off but the continual clicking was driving me crazy. With active sky x off and just the FSX default weather on, there are no issues withh the ATR

Although I cannot take credit for discovering this (RESET MPC ALT Gary was the one, see FSX Hardware forum), I noticed that after setting "Sound Acceleration" in the DirectX control panel (RUN > "dxdiag") from "Full Acceleration" to "Standard" or even "Basic", not only are all my remaining stutters during gone, but the ASX interface has become vastly more responsive. Map now updates much much faster. Haven't noticed difference in sound quality at all. I just installed ASv6 which appears to run fine. I then tried to open Active Sky Graphics and I get the following error with a big red X:"The application failed to initialize properly. Click on OK to terminate the application". No other options. What should I do from here?Thanks, Al

Hello all,I ran across an issue with wake turbulence to run by the gurus of this forum. I'm running ASX+ASG on a remote box, after upgrading from AS65 over the weekend. I picked the defaults in ASX and ASG. All installed correctly as far as I can tell. I'm also running ultimate terrain X and Traffic X, the latest FSUIPC (June release), and AISmooth (also remotely).I usually fly out of my favorite airport (KDEN) in a number of different crafts, namely, the RealAir SF-260, the LevelD 767 and the default 172. FSX would randomly freeze, then CTD, offering to restart. The failures occur only in the air, from within 1 minute of takeoff to 30 or more minutes. The problem occ…

First off, congratulations on a great pair of products -the improvement from vanilla FSX weather to ASX with X Graphics is incredible. I do have a couple of feature requests, though:Would it be possible to add an option to each of the drop down boxes in X Graphics for FSX default textures? Then we could choose to have, say, default FSX water with X graphics clouds, or default taxiways with X Graphics airport clutter etc.Another feature which would be quite handy would be the ability to randomize the content on individual tabs so that, for example, you could randomise the clouds without changing the water, airports or sounds.Many thanks,DD

Hi chaps,I'm running build 1056 of ASX on a networked laptop and it was absolutely fine during a flight from LEMG-EGCC. I terminated ASX over SW England and immediately on doing this FSX just froze. Task Manager reported it as "Not Responding" and I had to terminate it.Are you aware of this problem?

Since to enjoy the WX in FSX is suggested to start ASX and than FSX, would be a nice idea to have an option(to select) inside ASX that will allow FSX to start automatically after the WX is download from the server, what do you thinks? :-smile12 Andy

Do I have to uninstall Ver 4.5 first?Does Ver 6.5 automatically install for FS9 and FSX?Does Ver 6.5 download a full Ver 6.5 without the need to install any patches.Later when I upgrade to ASX will any change need to be made to Ver 6.5 .. no compatibility issues ... like I could run Ver 6.5 or Ver FX for MSFSX.

I am having problem with getting Active X to take "over" the weather from fsx. I can't see any indications in Active X that it shouldent be connected to fsx, but my weather is still made from fsx and not Active X??Have anyone had that problem before, and what settings should I pay attention for in fsx to make this work??Thanks in advance...

Hi, am I correct that in FSX when using ASX and AGX that the setting in CURRENT WEATHER should be "user-defined" instead of "real-time" in order to get the weather updates from the ASX system?thanks, JL

Is there any support out there that will jump on this band wagon? I wish in a future update that there is a better notification system of just what ASX is doing. Instead of "Synthesis Idle" or "Depiction Output Idle", why not "Downloading Update", "Blending Weather in FSX", "Operations Complete", "Next Update in 6 Mins" (have a minute countdown timer displayed).Please respond if you show support for this request so the authors can see our desires.Steve

Hi,Installation is successfull, I have Vista home, Nvidia 8800GTX SLI,4gig ram, Q6700 .After installing X graphics, I just use default theme and get this type of greyish sky texture (attachment enclosed), Tried with different themes: same thing, change the time and season: same thing.Revert back to original FSX: looks even better Please helpJimmy

Hello everyone!Well as we reach the 1-week mark after release of our new products, I just wanted to give everyone a status report...Essentially this has been the smoothest most solid release yet made by HiFi and I'd like to throw a million thanks out there to our Beta Team and of course our Dev Team who made this all possible!There have been a few isolated problems found, which fortunately are affecting only a very small % of the users (less than 1% actually). I use AS6.5 with FSX and after purchasing a new computer have run across a problem I've never encountered before. I start AS6.5 paused and after refreshing and starting fsx I'm finding that the old weather is not being cleared. To get the latest weather I have to clear all FSX weather in FSUIPC each time I start FSX and then refresh AS6.5 again.I have checked Auto refresh AI on first WX set & Ignore FS location until ready.
