Where can I get the upgrade from ASV to AS 6.5? I had it, but deleted it a while back leaving me with only ASV. Had to reinstall FS and now I'm stuck with only ASV. Where is the update to AS6.5? Couldnt find it at the site. Anyone know where I can get it?

Hello SupportHave searched the forum and read the ASX documents on network configuration and still have a question before I purchase ASXhave been a long time Activsky user since WXre and currently have version 6 for fs9 on a widefs setup.I have FSX SP1 and SDK with SP1a on the server. I read in one of the forums ( can't remember which one ) that you have to have the SDK installed on both server and client. the simconnect read me files don't say that and neither does the ASX docs. Or is it that you just have to have the simconnect files installed on the client only ?Also the test procedure described in the ASX docs concerning the AI Traffic.exe example program that is now …

Hi,I'm using ASv6 in FS9. This has probably been asked before but is there a way to force a low level fog/cloud layer to be displayed when the visibility is low. To explain more clearly what I mean, I take off from an airport with 3/4mile vis and obviously it looks like flying through soup - excellent. Problem is, when I overfly the same airport five minutes later at 10,000 ft I can see right down to the ground when I would expect to see a layer of cloud. A further few minutes later when approaching the airport there is a transition back to fog - not really so cool! Any ideas of what to do? I though that was what "Generate Fog Layer" was for but clearly not... I don't hav…

This is not technically a AS6 problem but after re-installing XP if I have FS9 displayed on the desktop, ASv6 loads the program and initial weather information very slowly. If while its loading slowly I minimise FS9 down to the taskbar, AS6 then suddenly speeds up and loads very quickly.I have not noticed this prior to re-installing XP, can any technical members of this forum suggest a possible cause for this problem. My computer spec is a P4 3.2GHz 2.5Gb of RAM and a Sapphire Radeon X800XL AGP graphics card. The only programs I have running are FS9 and AS6.Many thanksGlen

GentsI ram-dumped FSX (w/SP1) a month ago--In my mind X couldn't (can't) compete with 9 with all FS9's enhancements and the ability to run online (squawkbox)--not to mention maintaining 30-40FPS with the meanest AS6.5 weather loaded at a major hub in a complex jet.By comparison anytime I loaded AS weather into FSX with sliders mid-range and just about every freakin tweak out there, I'd get marginal/choppy performance on what is a relatively high end system. What has changed with ASX? I really do want to run FSX again--with ASX--but not as a slow/low VFR only kind of thing. Knowing there is no "silver-bullet" way to tune each system out there, if anyone has some good poin…

I reinstalled ActiveSkyX on a different Boot/Partition and now when I start ActiveSky X on the Client I have the above warning. It also says that "ASX will continue to operate but will not update FSX weather. See the documentation for more information about SimConnect. I followed the install procedure as usual. What's wrong?BTW, .NET FRAMEWORK was not installed on that partition prior to ASX install. Now .NET FRAMEWORK 2.0 is installed with ASX.Please help.Thanks.

Hi does anybody know how to add rain when on ground and travelling towards rain clouds in the air and also how do you maximise maximum cloud coverage because when on ground and there is full cloud coverage it starts to disapper when reaching around 15,000 ft, thankshttp://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e62/ritzer82/untitled.jpg

Hi,Last night I was flying on a friend's B737 simulator using ASX supplied weather. Our flight left LFPG around 2300 GMT 3 July 2007 for LSGG. During the middle part of the flight we experienced extreme wind changes at around FL310 where a 100kt tailwind suddenly changed to a 60kt headwind. Needless to say the aircraft couldn't cope with such a sudden change and after a few seconds of overspeed 'crashed'.He is flying the PMDG737-700 but without the supplied panel as he uses Project Magents software on a multiple PC system.I've never seen such sudden changes of wind in FS. I appreciate the weather over the whole of western Europe is currently very unseasonal but the sudden …

Hello, I'm having a problem with ASX that I just can't seem to solve. I've got ASX and X Graphics on a network install, everything appears to be working fine, I've got connection in the Sim connection diagonstic window, in game the message "initializing weather depiction" appears when game starts, after a while the following appears "Weather depiction complete", but nothing happens, there are no changes at all. custom options such as rain, ice crystals, etc don't work also. In ASX I can see the plane on the map and the "depiction output active" is green most of the time.My specs are DC 6600, XFX 8800 ultra, 700 PSU, etcASX is installed in a toshiba satellite A100-626Can a…

Hi!I just installed ASX on a networked PC. Everything is set up fine. FSX and ASX are talking to each other. ASX is showing a message in the Log Windows saying "FSX Connected". Also FSX is showing a box "ASX Connected"! There does not seem to be a problem with the communication. When ASX is downloading the weather it shows a message saying "Problem adding a virtual gap station: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.(Error) Source="This message is coming up every minute (1:02 to be precise). The weather in FSX is not updated. Can anyone tell me what this message means and how to solve the problem?ThanksChrisEDDF

I've been using AS4.5 Build193, for at least 1.5yrs now. Never had a problem until just recently, about a week ago. When I hit refresh after loading FS I'm now getting an error that says; "Main Thread Process Error- Retrying at next interval"I was just wondering if ver4.5 is no longer able to read the info from the server, or if the server has changed? Thanks,Marv

Hello everyone, can anybody advice me please how I can enable turbulance if possible when you are at cruising altitude level such as FL370, because I never tend to get any turbulance throughout the flight, the only time I get it is when the weather is rough during low altitudes into approach but this definately takes the fun out of cruise altitude flight, all assistance will be much appreciated, thanks.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/for...argo_hauler.gif http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e62/ritz...tishAirways.jpg http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e62/ritzer82/untitled.jpg http://www.danasoft.com/sig/RAYEK82.jpg

Hi, just to verify, my rate of change in FS9 should be set to "none" for weather when using AS6.5. Right? I still get sudden visibility changes and that is why Im asking. Thanks,Bill

Did anyone notice the XEngine GUI first indicates an airport in Ghana (Africa) before it is able to pick up the true aircraft location from FSX? This is because latitude, longitude 0 are closest to... Ghana!I think defaulting Lat/Lon to the coordinates from the default flight file would have been the better choice. I find it a bit confusing to be presented the weather in some African country on startup of XEngine.Otherwise: cool product!Christian

Hi guys,I am attempting to use the current version of FS Flight Keeper v2.8 by Thomas Molitor with ASX. FSFK is designed for and works with all the earlier versions of AS, including AS6.5.I have redirected the ASv6 folder location within FSFK to now point to the ASX metar folder Docs & Settingsuser_nameAppdataHiFiASXWeather folder. FSFK accepts the new setting but doesn't seem to parse any data; but it doesn't error-out either.Assuming it is reading the current_wx_snapshot.txt file in this folder, just like in ASv6, has anything changed, data or stucture wise, within the ASX version of this file that might prevent FSFK from parsing the data correctly? On the surfac…

In ASv6 I have online weather enabled. Shouldn't I have the prevailing weather for the time of downloading (.i.e current clock)? The reports I see in AS are usually 1-2 hours older than the current time.

Hello! The problem with FSX shut down due to a problem with msvcr80.dll when using ASX is still occuring on my computer.I have now tried every suggestion, uninstalled and reinstalled .NET 2 and FSX SP1, tried different settings, turned of all anti-virus software, tried different aircrafts, but the problem is still there. Sometimes I can use FSX for hours, fly around to different locations without any problems and then suddenly, it strikes. Sometimes the problem occurs just a few minutes after starting a free flight in FSX.Now, I can of course use FSX weather-updates, but ASX is much better! As for now, I can not use ASX because it's very annoying to have to start all over …

I plan a flight, 3-4 hrs or maybe more, check the winds in activesky 6 for FS9, write them down and figure out what runways would be open... start the game, let everything load, advance time to make sure the correct runways are open, and by the time I get to my destination, the winds are in the complete opposite direction! The opposite runway is now open! This is soooo annoying. I am not sure what I am doing wrong? I have default settings and settings given by users here but still can't figure out why the metar data pulled seems to always change so drastically.thanks for any help

HiI recently upgraded Active Sky/Graphics X and Radar Contact. Both are fantastic addons and enhance FSX flying experience tremendously. I have searched FAQ and forums but really nothing has answered my questions. They are :Are there any known compatability problems with Active Sky and RC.The only payware a/c that I use is lds767-300 updated for use in FSX. Naturally I installed X-Gauge and it works in every default a/c but is not displayed in lds767-300. When I select from Views- Instrument panel something takes place and it appears to be placed somewhere inright hand side of panel in 2D panel but is hidden. It works in VC panel. I believe I read somewhere that I c…

I'm running FS9 (using Vatsim) on my main desktop computer, while running Squawkbox on my wireless networked laptop. Here's my question. Since I run Active Sky interfacing with Vatsim (in the options), should I also place AS on the 'client' laptop computer - using WideFS, of course? And, by doing this, will I save significant resources on my main computer where FS9 is installed and run? Thanks!!!!
