Good day.My ASv6.5 has arrived and is innstalled in my PC.I've gone to the "download weather" section of it, allready designated a file (X:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9ModulesASv6Archive Weather) to save and back up.In the download weather section, I push the "Download Archive" button and get a message "Downloading WX Data from HiFi Data Net (232)..."And this goes on forever, 1 hour+ ?? and nothing shows up in my folder (see above).As I said in another post about 2 weeks ago, I dont have internet connection @ home, from where I will be doing my flying, so I have hauled my FS9 PC, here to work and am in the process of trying to establish a weather databas…

It seems that upon building my new computer, I have managed to NOT backup my product key for the active sky/graphics X bundle I purchased. When I go online to my account, all I can see is my invoice... FSX is hardly worth running without these two. HELP!!!Danon O.

Hi, I am new to the active sky community and just purchased the bundle ASX/X. It looks like a great product, but I am having alot of problems with it since i first installed it, (only the original planes worked with it, downloaded planes would slow down to .4-.2 fps), but i realized that my sp1 hadn't been installed on a clean installation and therefore maybe affecting ASX/X. So I uninstalled everything, reinstalled and it gave me the "simconnect" message. I then did what you suggested here in that order. Same message. What should i do now?A few other things i noticed while playing after my first installation.1. Weather was downloaded into fsx but didn't appear to update …

I have an older PC (PIII) that I was thinking of setting up as a 'client' PC to run my 3rd party apps for FSX. (Radar Contact...etc..)Will ActiveSky X work on a W2K box?TIA!Jason

Hi. I'm using Windows XP. This has happened a few times before and I had to do a system restore to get it to work again. I'm trying to fix this problem however. I load ASX and I get the initial screen with status bar. The status bar fills and instead of getting the top window of ASX I simply hear a click and get no window. ASX is still loaded but I need to control alt delete to quit out of it. Very frustrating for sure. Any help is appreciated. - Jay

can anyone help on this one.after loading Active X, all my cockpits are dark at night...no lights...even after hitting switches.is there some way to install all parts (SP1/SDK/NET2.0,ETC) so this will not happen??Is it a driver issue..???? i have the lastet.thanks for the help.Mitch

Hi Guys,When starting Active Sky X with FSX already running it hangs whilst it does the "Populating weather stream with new data" part.FSX comes up and says the Active Sky is connected however will free up about every 10-15 seconds for about 2-3 seconds and hangs again.Finally gets to the end and my PC frees up and I'm away flying... However if I click the Update WX Button, It redownloads the WX and the hanging starts again..Tried removing,reinstalling and updating to .net 3.0Help would be appreciatedSean

Hi StaffI am using ASX with FSX.In the Wx Config screen if I select the 'Load Metar File' button I cannot access any of the metar files because the 'Files of type' default is set to *.Ast and there is no option to set this to *.Wx. From the help manual, and logically, this appears to be an error.By the same token, I cannot save a weather file because it wants to save with a *.Ast extension and I'm guessing this should be a *.wx extension.Your comments appreciated.Paul Croft15 miles north of EGKK

The winds look steady (although a strong speed), so gusting and directional variability won't have that effect.Thanks, Bruce.

Jim,Hi, I am having a nightmare with my PC at the moment due to various HD crashes and I only seem to have a back up of AS6.0 not anything to upgrade to AS6.5 what do I need to do in order to get my version back to what is was prior to the HD crash and upgrading from AS6.0 to AS6.5. Do you need proof of purchase etc...?CheersPHIL

all around me flying with FS9 and Active Sky 6.5 when the report says Clouds:None. Precipitation:None and a look out of the window convinces me that the report is correct: sky is blue, not one cloud anywhere.

I have installed the bundle. I typically import my flight plan and select the option to have XGraphics install for the flight plan. I also set my theme for 50% weather influence.Can you basically explain what is happening when the weather influence is selected? I know it looks great, but would like to better understand the process. Also, what cloud and sky graphics are used by ActiveSkyX if XGraphics is not installed?Thank you.Craigjjs

Hii've just installed asvx and xgraphicsXgraphics work perfectly but asvx is connected to fsx but all asvx menu are disabled.note: due to some internet provider problems i'm not connected to the net until the next week. i'm wondering is for this reason that asvx menus are disabled.how can i work offline?

Hi guys. I control at vZLA and have ASv6. I am getting strange things when the METAR reads, for example, OVC400. Well, when i am at 2000, it kinda shows broken. I can't get a real overcast at all! :SI run FS9 ATI radeon 250 1 gig ram. I made sure in FSUIPC to hit "Clear All Weather"... but i am still getting broken skies. Any thoughts, advice or anything else; ill be thankful.

Hey guys,Wondering if anybody has a solution to this small problem. As many know, FSX is different to FS9 in that it will allow a change in runways based on a change in wind, while there are aircraft already cleared for a particular runway. For example, if the wind is 160 at 15, an aircraft that comes within the 108NM radius of the airport will be given runway 16. 10 minutes later, the wind changes to 350 at 15, all new aircraft will be given runway 35 to land. Problem is, that all those aircraft already cleared for 16 will continue to land on this, and collided with those aircraft now landing on 35.Does anybody know a way of disabling/changing this? Jim,I have reinstalled FS9, AS6.5 (patched it to SU1) on Vista 64 (since FSX gives me too much pain at the moment), and everything seems to run fine (weather/wind updates seem glitch-free). Except for when I bring up the ActiveRadar gauge. I have just tried a flight KCOE-KBLI three times, meeting with some rainy clouds about halfway, and always getting a program lockup shortly after visualizing the green clouds on the radar. Shutting down AS after that doesn't help, FS9 is still stuck, and all I can do is to end the process manually. I think there is some corruption in my ARadar config file (entries such as RadarUseMasking, for example). I paste my ActiveRadar.cfg below. …

Hello, what is the advantage to having ASX installed on a separate computer? Is it so that computer uses its own resources to generate weather, then supplying it to FSX on the main computer?Interested,Eric

I just installed ASX + X Graphics on my machine (have FSX SP1 installed) and I get this message when starting ASX:"SimConnect (SP1 version) was not able to be loaded... this is required for operation witg FSX! ASX will continue to operate but will not update FSX weather. See the documentation for more information about SimConnect."Did I miss simething or isn't SimConnect part of FSX? I have had to re-install ASX several times to temporarily resolve an issue with the opening screen not showing, I am using Vista 32 bit.When I start ASX the first initial screen shows but then when that completes the main screen just refuses to appear. I do see the minature version of this window when I hover the pointer over the icon on my task bar and have to use this to see when the main program has completed loading. I then can not make any changes to the program or operate anything from the inital screen as the main window refuses to show up on the desktop.Any ideas or have any other users encoutered similar troubles?Oh another thing.... Is it necessary to run AS graphics/submit it for every flight (every day) if I am going to always use the same theme?

Set up a flight early this morning.Printed the reports.Set up the same flight at noon (KDTW)today. My FSbuild plan indicated the same exact as this mornings. So I checked the AS6.5 reports.The reports (all stations/upper levels etc.)from noon today are the "exact" same as this mornings flight.The snapshot date and time changes correctly with Wx updates.

Hello guysI have a problem with my Abacus Boeing 787's landing lights. They are so dim that I can hardly see at night. My other planes in FSX have great landing lights though, so it's only this plane...picture of the lights:I have tried setting them to the other light options in ActiveSky Graphics but the lights remain the same... two blotches of light that are rather dim. Can anyone help me with this, it would be greatly appreciated.ThanksAdam

Is there a way to possibly run ActiveSky X on a computer without FSX installed on it? I have a laptop and it would be nice to get to know the product a lot better if I had it installed on there for a bit. Thanks for any help!
