I have read before of ASX users encountering A Fatal Error message about 15 minutes into the flight, which results in Flight Simulator shutting down and rebooting, but I did not encounter this problem until AFTER installing ASX SP1. any thoughts?eric

For the last few flights, I have noticed that my skies were not as dramatic/modeled from what I'm used to with AS (also using XGraphics). This has happened somewhat regularly, and I've always wondered why....So, on a flight to Martha's vineyard today, I decided to 'go up' to the menue and select weather....saw that it was 'toggled' to custom, and hit OK. Flight environment has clouds. Will this interfere with acktive skys clouds? Also between the settings you gave me I did a lot of reading from your sight which really helped me to understand the program. It is amazing! Just one more little thing Jim..........I have a lot of blue haze in the sky. How do I changit? :(Tim

Dear AllI am still struggling to join a second PC using SimConnect to my main computer when running Activesky SP1.Both PCs are running Windows Vista 64 Bit with FS-X service pack 1.Has anyone else had any luck with this ?Thanks in advanceLufty

X Guage and Level D work together? Its in the view window and under window 4 in the aircraft.cfg but shift 4 gives me the F/O view and using the menu / view / xguage does nothing.Thanx

I have just installed ASV6.5 on my computer. But for some reason, it won't fetch the weather properly. I have it set to follow online weather in the options. But when it tries to refresh the weather, I receive a message saying "Download Failed or Canceled. Will retry at next update interval." At the next update, i receive the same message. I then went in the options to and selected Vatsim weather instead of Online weather. When I get the Vatsim weather, It gives me the wrong METAR and weather. Winds are different that what it is indicated in the Fsinn... How can I get my Active Sky to work properly using online weather?Thanks

Hi Support teamASX & ASG have been working fine since release but i have gone back to Windows XP as Vista is not useable for me.Now the installer for ASX just bombs out with this error message.(see att screenshot of message)(I downloaded the installer again fresh but still same error.)Have removed all spyware as i usually do.Any idea what it means ?.RegardsRick ;o)

Hi, just curious to know how many of you use Ative sky 6.5 with FS9 and with Flight Environment. Is Flight Env a good product? I love AS 6.5 and its cloud and sky textures, will Flight Environment really make it look that much better? Just curious to know what you all think about it.Thanks,Bill

I'm sure active sky is the better program from hear that over and over in this forum which is great. Now..........I have no excuse as to why I have flight environment installed along with active sky. What I would like to is having FE installed as well........will this be a negative result towards av6 performance. I wld think so but am not sure.:)

I've just finished my new system and am installing software. I have FSX on it's own RAID 0 array. I dual boot into XP Pro and Vista Home Premium. I installed FSX twice, once for each OS, overlaying the old files so that the registry entries would be ok.Plan on installing my ASX/Graphics also. Will I need to do the same thing with ASX - installing it to the same location twice - to keep registry entries squared away? X Graphics works fine with the default theme but everytime I try to install a new theme the programme freezes and locks up.I have done several re-installs, e.g. install X Graphics, activate licence key, install SP-1, but still the problem persists.My operating system is Windows XP.Your suggestions most welcome!

Hey guys!I run both ASX and XG and pre-SP1 had no problems with running both full right, full steam.After installing the new SP, I noticed quite a bit of lagging while running w/in FSX so I re-installed the SP again and the problem still remained this time cutting my frames from a steady 25 to 8/10 I've changed every setting from right to left yet the lagging still continues. I've narrowed it down to ASX I believe due to the fact that my frames shoot right back to par with out running XEngine Is there anything I could have done wrong? Need help in having ASV 6.5 working again. I have FS9 and FSX installed on a USB HD. Never a problem until my USB HD was changed from "F" drive to "G". I have gotten most everything working in the renamed "G" drive except AS6.5. Changed the ASV shortcut to "g" and the config files in Modules from F to G but when try to execute ASG or AS WX engine it tries to reinstall or something. In using reinstall to modify or repair the install program shows the "F" location and I can't change it. It now needs to reinstall in the G drive. Hope this makes some sense.Any help in getting ASV back up and working will be appreciated. I hate to fly without ASV.Sure appreciate any help Than…

Hi Can some one please explain the following :When I start active sky and load a flight plan,the weather is set up for the time that is indicated at the top of the active sky window as local time and date etc.Normally this is my local time.I am in the uk.But when I start the flight sim I sometime choose a different time,location etc.The question is how can I adjust the time in the active sky to match the flight time in the fs.Otherwise the weather loaded for the flight will not match the active sky weather build????Please help me clear this concern? confusion? Dumb question here.....(I've got a million of 'em :-))Does Active Sky have to be running to get the cloud and weather affects?In other words, I have AS6 setup and configured but don't open it up and have it running in the background when I run FS9. My question is, am I still getting the AS6 effects even though AS6 is not open? I am simply runnig FS9 w/ "real Updated Weather" used.Hope this makes sense.....

Hi,Just a little question: seeing the fire disaster happened in Greece just few days ago, I've though if there is the possibility with METAR to specify the kind of "cloudiness" (in this case due by smoke) and to transpose it in the game. As I flew from Athens to see if there was smoke in the air, I saw only clouds (and I guess it wasn't exactly what I saw in TV); I hope you'll understand what I mean!Thanks to all! :-)Vittorio

Hi Jim.I downloaded and installed the SP1 for ASX quite a while back now. I'm just wondering, where would I look in order to see that SP1 did indeed install properly along with the actual version I'm using? I was looking for something like..."Help"/"About", but can't seem to find anything like that.Many thanks.

Hello all!For some time now, regardless of what Active Sky X weather said when I make my flight plan, when I get to the destination, the wind is always calm. This happens with every flight world wide. There also seems to be a radical wind change from the predicted weather to the calm wind, about 2 - 3 nm from the threshold. I use FSX deluxe, ASX (no graphics), and Radar Contact4.3.0.3843. I have 4.1.2.6 FSUIPC installed as well. I can not seem to find any setting that might cause this. Departure and en route weather is as predicted (except of course for the FSX wind shifts). Any ideas? - Roger

Hi,I fly mostly in the Bahamas & Caribbean areas with AFX. I note that WX reports for nearby airports (both over 122.0 and in METAR text on the AFX WX gauge) are announced not with the ICAO airport identifier but with a string of numbers (4 or 5 numbers, I can't recall, exactly). To clarify, I am not talking about airports that have numbers as part of their ICAO identifier; the numbers are given instead of the actual identifier. Is this a result of an error in reading the airports file in FSX? Could you suggest a work-around?Doug

Hi,for the first time today i had a real overcast situation. I slewed up to have a view from above. It looked real nice, only a few small gaps. I then decided to increase the number of layers from 6 to 10 to improve it a little. To my amazement it became less an overcast situation, then decided to set the maximum layers of 20 which didn't change very much?At the same time ASX cloud layers seem too far apart and too high. In real life clouds most of the time are below 10,000 feet. In ASX they spread up to 35,000 feet, to far apart most of the time. I'm almost at the point of returning to the default online weather, it's more realistic in the cloudlayer altitude spread. Lik…

Hi Jim and TeamI have registered copies of both ASv6 and ASX and I installed ASv6 in FSX before ASX was released. Subsequently I installed ASX for FSX with out incident (and X-Graphics) - all running well. Today, I just happened to notice that in the FSX Modules folder there are 3 sub-folders:Active RadarASGraphicsASV6Can I just delete these 3 folders or must I uninstall ASV6 and then reinstall? I would still like to use ASv6 in FS9.ThanksPeter Hayes
