Hey everybody,I've been using AS6.5 for a year and as of Sunday, October 15, I have been unable to download weather updates from the HIFI DataNet. The display continously displays "connecting to HIFI DataNet" and eventually locks up. Anyone else having this issue? I've turned off the firewall, downloaded and installed the latest build (although it still reads Build 522). Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.Eric

Hi, I just read your announcement on your upcoming projects-- thanks for that. But I have a concern, and a wish as far as Active Sky Advanced goes.First the concern: I assume "Advanced" is going to have some added cost for existing ASX customers? If so, I noticed one of Advanced's features is "wind-smoothing". Though I realize that this problem is much more of ACES issue than yours, I also don't think it is unfair to expect your $45 base wx product to address the issue as much as is possible. Hello,I just purchased ASX today and it seemed to install fine. I then immediately installed ASX sp1 I click the launch FSX button from within ASX after it downloads the weather data. FSX starts and goes to the flight screen. I load my flight (free flight) and FSX crashes as it get to the weather, AI section of the loading screen (about 83%). I tried FSX without ASX and it works fine. I am running Vista Home Premium. I am still using AS6.5 with FS9 due computer limitations. I have both Vatsim and Real world wx ticked in the options menu. I appreciate I live in the UK where the weather is not that brilliant but most of the time when I load up FS9 and AS initially the sky looks great, really good cloud formations, then 10 seconds later it goes all white.I have had to adjust the minimum visibilty to 5 sm because I mainly fly VFR in the UK on Vatsim and without making this adjustment its impossible to fly VFR.Is there any way to keep those great cloud formations without the white mist spoiling the view.My settings are basically default with Vatsim ticked and the visibility adjusted as …

HI all,I have bought recently ASX+Xgraphics bundle and I am currently running build 1083.After a few test flight,I really like the product for the visual effects and the new textures on the ground.As a lot of people have remarked, there is still a problem with winds shifts and unrealistic wind speed changes(ex: winds at 25kts and then suddenly 0kts but on the report page it is written that winds should be at 65kts at that altitude).I know that this is more a FSX problem.To avoid the problem,what setting can I use?Do I have to check Virtual stations and route coverage?Can someone from Hifi explain in more details those two settings and how they affect winds?Another thing t…

I use historic wx (playback) for most of my flying - I'll pick a few days ago and use the actual weather for the period I'm flying my route - as opposed to using current real weather which may have much different convective weather than when I was scheduled to fly. With the older Active Sky systems we could download a block of historic weather - 20 January 07 at 0800z and the next 10 hours. With ASX I don't see a way to download more than 1 hour at a time - quite labor intensive for a 10-15 hour trans-oceanic flight. Did I miss something in the documentation? hello,I've bought the package (and upgraded) two months ago and since then I've flown (due to lack of time for knowledge improvement or experimenting) in this simple way:-I planned the flight in FSX-I processed the flight into ASX, and installed the textures (no tweaking of default settings in ASX, random choice of textures in XG)-I made the flightalong most of all flights I've noticed than, even flying at low/medium level with fine weather (almost clear sky or al least with scattered clouds), the ground view was hazy (very different from the view I have had when really flying)please, how can I reduce the haze and experience ground view without haze?thanks

i did a simulation departing from long island new york where i really live...there was a rainstorm and i wanted to se AS duplicate it...but when i loaded it the skies were clear...please tell me what the settings should be...thanksmike

Jim For some reason i am getting the same briefing for nzwn nzch weather reports are identical.Secondly Asx log shows 7682 stations scanned (4515 did not provide recent data) Is there a problem here ........................regards robin

I can't seem to get the xgraphics textures to work.Particularly the runway taxiway ones, not sure about the other ones yet.But no matter what texture I load it always looks exactly the same in FSX.In options everything is ticked as well to overwrite the fsx ones.I used to have this working fine but now I installed SP1 of xgraphics I was going to have a play with xgraphics, just kinda defaulted it when I bought it.Now even when installing a completely different theme, everything still looks the same.

I am a proud owner of X-graphics and love it for everything it does, but I have a couple of questions , one of which was raised while I was typing this.1. The description for XG states "New airport clutter gives illusion of ground baggage handling, airport parking and general photorealistic airport ground scenery". Is this for all airports or just some of the major airports and is there an adjustable setting for this? I can't quite tell what it does. 2. When I create the textures for runways/taxiways, can I make it random or does it have to be the same for every airport?Thank you for a great product!

Hi allI've been using ASv6.5 build 552 in FS9 for a few months now with Ground Environment Pro. A few days ago when I downloaded the Metar's from AS6 into Ground Environment I'm getting the following message:Metar decode errorMultiple-step OLE DB problem generated errors check each OLE DB status value, if available. No work was doneI'm assuming it's not actually downloading any of the data into GE. Have you any ideas how I can fix this..ThanksSteve

Hi Jim-I just noticed something after my install of AS for FSX. It seems that clouds are flashing; not a lot, just a few both on the ground and in the air. I did a search but most flashing problems seem to be related to FS9. I have not noticed this with the stock weather downloads.Any ideas?Thanks, Mark

I was trying to set the best possible cummulous clouds without the "nimbus". Meaning.. Just white puffy clouds againt a clear blue sky. But I never could get that done.I always ended up with grey at the botton of the cummulous cloud. More like swaths of cotton with great at the bottom end.Anyone here knows what weather settings and time of day etc I need to get such a thing and if you did manage with either the default FSX or X Graphics, could please post your screen shot.I would like to compare this with the FEX clouds.Manny
