Hello, weather experts,When I try to download histocal weather data from a selected date within ASX, the ASX Log file shows me the same error message as Allan has desribed here: thread #33176, "RAM spike exceeding 1.3 Gigs".However, I cannot see any RAM spike more than usually expected. His solution as he wrote in this thread will also not work. I'm still looking for a way to avoid this error and to get the selected weather data. However, I also get another error, when I try to save the current weather data to HD. I'm having a problem runnig ASX. When I start ASX up I'm constantlygetting message Sim Connect was not able to load. I read FAQ and tried to uninstall and then reinstall SP1, but it didn't fix the problem. Any idea what could be wrong?P.S. Yesterday I downloaded Active Sky and X Graphics. I have a problem to adjust inland and ocean water. Choice of color is not like FS9 Active Sky 6 and Active Sky graphics . FSX colors are all dark tone, it is not realistic. Ocean is not bright blue in sunny day, and always partial squares of other colors interfacing and changing the color of ocean, possibly inland color mixing up and try to take over. How can I hold ocean blue color and stop interfacing inland color to trying take over.Inland water color either dark, brown or dark brown, It looks like environmental disaster, Where is the clear light blue bright river colors.I am sure I am doing some thing wrong, but I can…

I seem to be having an issue with AR, when I open it it, FS9 runs fine, as soon as I turn it on, FS locks up untill I turn it back off. Any suggestions?Thanks,Steve

Has anybody else found they sometimes get a problem switching FSX from full screen to windowed when using ASX? When I'm full screen I can go to windowed but when I try going back the screen freezes. If I try ALT ENT then all I see is a black screen and I have to restart FSX. Another thing I've found is that sometimes, when I start a flight, instead of a black screen with the loading bar showing I see the loading bar but I can see my desktop behind. When loading gets to 100% I then need to restart FSX to the beginning. Of course, this may have nothing to do with ASX. It just so happended that it seemed to start when ASX was installed but it doesn't happen every time. I was…

Hi EveryoneI have noticed that when I go to the map view after a flight that the lock position is locked onto an airport which I had flown to several days ago and was not locked onto the present airport which I had just flown to this date.If I type in the current airport which I just landed it will then lock onto that airport.I have locked to FS position checked and like I say it did not lock onto my curent airport.Tks. for any comments.Kenny G.

First off I would like to "What a great product". I have a problem after processing the route, when it asks if I want to install xgraphics I click ok a window comes up that says it is installing. I have waited as long as 30 min, and it doesn't load. I have uninstalled and reinstalled both programs and still get the same thing.Please help.Thank you in advance,Jim Walker

I can't seem to get current WX to load in ASX. Do I have something set incorrectly? This is what I get when loading a flight plan for a short local flight. Both reports are old data. This may not be a smart question but when I host a multiply with ActiveSkyX/Graphics, will other players require these programs? My brother & I fly multiply often and just bought both ActiveSkyX/Graphics Programs - is there something we need to do other than standard start up procedure for ActiveSkyX/Graphics? Thanks!erv

Is anyone having problems with severe wind shifts at high altitude using Activesky X? For example the wind will suddenly change from a head wind to a tail wind or fron say 10kts to 80kt instantly,giving a severe overspeed or violent swing of the aircraft.This problem could be fixed in FS9 using the wind smoothing effects of FSUIPC. Reading there support forum I dont think that option works with the FSX version.Maybe it does now the SP1 has been released, not sure. Can someone confirm this for me as i dont want to purchase the registered version unecaserally.Also is there a way to get around this?Any info please Many thanksRegardsRichard

In AS6.x, at the end of the Nav Log report was an average aloft winds/direction line for the planed FL. This info is useful for FMC input on various complex aircraft for enroute progress calculations and fuel-burn prediction.I can't find the equivilent average statement in the ASX Briefings page. Is it somewhere else and I'm just missing it?

another stunning set of releases guys.but,,,yep a but....with previous versions of active sky i`ve always suffered from weather view changing very quickly....1 minute i`ll be flying along just a few clouds then all of a sudden i`m in full cloud cover and its not a build up it happens in a flash...i was hoping the new version would be different although i will gladly hold my hands up if its my fault...sadly ive tinkered with the settings in active sky x but to no avail...can you suggest what i change.Many ThanksAndrew

Used AS6 for ages and was very happy.Installed ASX and X Graphics and now not happy.The clouds I now see have no detail and look 2D i.e., just one colour and shade everywhere.Initial run showed them as white clouds, but having rebooted and started again I just get a faint grey 'mess' in the sky whereever I go!I think have selected all the right FSX settings and the ASX ones too.ASX main page seems to show all is well.So can anyone suggest where it is going wrong?For now, flying is back in the dark ages without the good clouds of AS6!ThanksNigel

Got the day off and trying to tweak FSX starting with Activesky.When I click the icon it goes to teh task bar and NOTHING opens it.Had I known that when you try to reinstall you have to contact you guys via email and wait, I would have never done it.So pleeezze:-) email me and I can get you the required info so I can get going again.Jim

How is ActiveSky for FSX on multiplayer session? Are all the players experiencing the same weather? What if I create a server with ActiveSky providing wheater? Will the clients see the same weather as I? Or they must be running activesky too?Thanks in advance

I know that performance can be very nebulous at times but it seems to me that after installing ActiveSky Graphics, framerates improved rather dramartcly for me around airports. Before ASG I was getting very poor framerates. I set my scenery complexity to medium and after ASG I now have it set to very high with no problems. Could this be or is it my imagination, just curious. After one week I can not beleive how amazing these products are. Money well spent (according to me not my wife). Thank You

I can't see the ASX window - it starts minimised on the taskbar!!I have installed FSX SP1 and the latest directX update.Ray Keattch.

I like the weather map and the looks of the new version - is it possible to use it with fs9 as well? I know that weather works differently in FSX, but possibly these unsupported features could be turned off when linked to fs9?

I have been using ASV(fs9 VERSION)in FSX.My question is this if i use ASG graphics and select the lower resolution clouds ie 256 128 64 will that work in FSX ? lower texture clouds might help performance because using real weather download or indeed ASV i have noticed that even if i select minimum cloud cover in the sim the sky is still full of the bloomin things:-) leading to much chug chug.cheers Andy

I'm having a problem with ASX/XG working in multiple user profiles on my Vista machine. Regardless of which user profile I install it from, it only functions correctly in the administrator's profile. To make sure there's no misunderstanding: I install the bundle logged in as the administrator. Start ASX and FSX, everything is fine. Go to UserB, the profile I actually use when flying, and ASX does not connect with FSX and it doesn't even write logs. The programs do start up after asking for the administrator's password; but ASX will not connect with FSX (ASX doesn't relocate to where I'm at in the FSX world). When ASX is good it's VERY VERY good and makes the simming experience SO much more realistic. However, I'm finding real weather downloads are not smooth. I've tried using VATSIM weather but it's seldom accurate and everydownload "bumps" the whole flight out of whack. The main visual problem, which I believe has been mentioned elsewhere, is best described by my attached pic. Hi, I installed ASX but I can't even start the program. When the program is launched, it immediatly generate the following error:Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime LibraryRuntime error !Program D:HiFiXEngineXEngine.exeAbnormal program terminationI have .NET Framework 2.0 and Visual C++ 2005 SP1 installed, on Windows XP and FSX SP1.
