Upgraded to ASA from ASX and networked 2 computers. Now when I start ASA the GUI shows while it initializes but then minimizes to the taskbar without any option to maximize or restore. I tried uninstalling ASA and deleting the HiFI ASA folder in App Data and the HiFi ASA folder in program files. I cannot see the ASA GUI!Edit - I moved the the ASA GUI onto a second monitor and may have minimized it before shutting the program down. Is there any way that I could check a .cfg file and change the settings so the GUI doesn't automatically minimize upon starting?I think the next step will be to reinstall ASA and the ASA upgrade but I am wondering if this problem will persist…

Always using the Beta 431 with DWC, I found that if this box is thicked then I get the wrong cloud depiction. The arrival METAR gave a ceiling at 11000, interpolated. Close to this station, another one had a TS reported. Well, I had clouds down to the ground at destination. I simply unchecked the Prevent cloud redraws, it refreshed the wx (same METAR) and the clouds went away. This appears to be the same problem as other users are reporting to have clouds when it should be CAVOK, not at the beginning, but while flying they start appearing. I've installed ASA and registered it. ASA starts normally and I select FS9 as the flight sim to look for. After ASA loads and is ready, I press the button to start FS, but nothing happens. I get a momentary window which disappears immediately leaving nothing in the tray. If I start FS9 manually, ASA doesn't find FS9. Changing my location in FS9 to KISP but ASA is still locked to KSEA. I have FSUIPC 3.90 in the modules folder. The odd thing is if I start ASA in FSX mode and hit the start FS button, it finds FSX with no problem (I have both FSX and FS9 on my computer. I continued to have the S turn problem both with ASA and without it in my PMDG 747x. I had it with FSUIPC even with wind smoothing on and also with FSX real weather. This was very frustrating! I discovered I needed to do some additional steps that I found in the beta download read me file. I did exactly what it said. I did the fsx.cfg tweak and disabled turbulance on aircraft in fsx settings. I am running ASA with DWC on and FSUIPC with weather settings off. Hi everybody, related to a similar post I saw about the FSX ATIS being totally wrong compared to ASA ATIS (winds, etc) I found out something tonight. Without global mode, the weather seems to be written in the global section of FSX, and not in the single station. Yesterday I was approaching LFBT, FSX ATIS reported winds 260/4 ( ASA was 020/5, not interpolated), CAVOK (ASA was ovc 3000). I could see the clouds though! They were depicted, but not "injected". All the stations around were reporting IDENTICAL conditions! ASA redraws Clouds despite the Range Suppression Function and sometimes one get's completly different weather on approach than predicted. A problem that many have encountered, including me. On my last flight I did something to get rid of another problem, the High Altitude Clouds. I followed the advice to disable CAVOK Cloud generation and that also effected the Cloud redraws in flight.There were none. It seems to me that the random CAVOK cloud generation forces the sim to redraw all weather in the vicinity, which then screws up the depiction of what should be there. Without the CAVOK Cloud generation I had no unwanted redraws.Try this guys, and see if it helps.Karsten

I finally purchased an upgrade to ASA on May 15, because the latest was that SP1 was about ready. I was just not willing to betatest before that and there were various issues (for FS9 users). I installed the program and the beta available at the time, since then I have installed two more beta versions and experienced my fair share of bugs. Hi Jim,I made another attempt today. This time I set no global wx, just the old style. The force wx was set. Metar reading at destination was wind calm, few at 6400, 30/24 Q1010. The map was showing that, the ASA ATIS too, but the despiction was just the same as departure: 120/10, BKN 500, BKN 1000, BKN 5000, 25/23, Q1013. Vis was 9999 everywhere, so doesn't matter. I went looking inside FS weather and found out that the "global" depiction was just unchanged since departure (I guess) but the station specific was different: 120/10, BKN 25000, 25/23, Q1013. Now, it was wrong anyway, but why wasn't it depicted? And considering that wx force was set, it shouldn't even interpo…

Hello, often times when I load real weather there will be 3 or more cloud layer listed in the metar. For example, the other day at LAX it was reporting Few 1800, Broken at 2500, and overcast at 3500. However, the ATIS only reads back the few at 1800 and 2500 broken no overcast. This is also what is displayed in the sky. I have no cloud limit set and this happen regardless of whether forced lowest ceiling is on or off. I also notice that whenever the metar is showing clouds above FL200 the ATIS reads back as no clouds below FL200 and the sky will be clear. Any help would be appreciated.Thanks Dave S

Hi folks,today I was flying with ASA (B431, global mode on) real time weather at FL350 and had a lot of issues with the temperature at this altitude. It changed several times (every 5 minutes or so) between the correct -50C and +15C, what my aircraft obviously didn't like at all. Hi, I'm a new user with ASA. Upon initial install, I was presented with the sim connect not found screen. I followed the instuctions and uninstalled acceleration and in its place installed SP2 from the fsinsider site. The sim connect screen persists. However, when I started FSX I found ASA to be functioning, with the exception of the map which is not rendering. If i pass my mouse cursor over the map area, it highlights station info, but no joy on the graphics. My computer skills are limited, but I can hack my way thru most situations with a little direction. CraigG

Guys / Gals, it looks to me like there are still people NOT using the latest beta build of ASA. In all fairness to Jim and the rest of the team, if we / they are collectively going to get to the bottom of the issues some of us are still having we MUST all be using the same program.
