Hi - I am using a networked configuration while running ASA and XG and I would like the weather to appear as it has been reported along the way from one waypoint to the next. I know that ASA updates iteself but I thought I would have smoother transitions using the briefing/snapshot way as I have read in the ASA documentation.I have created a flightplan and imported it to the briefing page in ASA where after it is processed and I am asked if I would like to install Graphic Snapshot Textures based on my route. As I have only just installed XG I get a message saying that ASA could not find a Snapshot close to the weather conditions given and further another pop-up appears …

I am using FSX and ASA and Squawkbox when flying on Vatsim. Very often here in the UK the weather is well below VFR limits, is there any way I can keep the sky's clear up to about 6000 ft so I can fly on Vatsim and still have the Vatsim wind and pressure.ThanksGlen

I may want to use the Avsim Swap Meet Forum to sell or trade ASA. I have read the license agreement and the only relevant paragraph is the following: I do not believe the transfer of the license from one person to another constitutes distribution. Does it? If it does, how do I go about obtaining express permission from Hifi Flightware to do so?Thank you.

Hi Guys,Just flew into ESMS (reporting wind 27018G27) and I was really impressed with the gusts all the way down final.I was about to post and give a big :( , but one small note,As I got below 1000ft the gusts suddenly stopped and it stayed stable at 18 knots. You have nearly cracked it.Can't work out why it stops at low level.ThanksNeil

Rather than add to another topic by another poster, i thought it perhaps better to start a new topic. This follows on from the other topic here http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=252324I quote myself for a little background I am not an entirely happy bunny. But we're getting there! So....The flight from HECA back to EGLL went fairly well with the settings advised in the revisions document. I opted to go down the route of setting the 0 turbulence option.Today, to really stretch ASA's legs, i tried a trip from EGLL to SBGR... The climb out was interesting to say the least, as i received bank angle after bank angle warning and 's' turned my way into the cruise. An…

Hi Jim,I was checking this thing for a while now, and tonight I had the confirmation. It seems that wake turbulence doesn't work with global settings on. I tried it without global depiction, and it was ok. I was established on final tonight, when the TCAS started screaming (vis was quite poor..) and a B737 appeared just ahead of me, not more than 1 mile, same altitude. No wake at all. I kept staying in its wake, then went below it, where it should have been even stronger, but nothing again. So I went looking in the main window to see if the wake was called (as it was called without DWC when I experienced it) but there wasn't, only a lot of up and downdraughts. I kept the l…

Hi. I am a current owner of ASH6.5 and have been for a very long time. I am really thinking about ASA.Just one question please as I am still confused after reading FAQ.So is this new XGauge pretty much a weather radar? Can we use it during climb, cruise and descent to avoid bad weather??I would really appreciate answersThank You.Best WishesSwadeep C.

Hi,I'm not sure if I have settings wrong or if this is an ASA problem. On a recent flight around the Hawaii area my visibilty changed numerous times from being able to see well into the distant to flying in haze instantly. Also clouds are coming and going which is annoying as i can have a few clouds one minute and the next new clouds suddenly appear. I have local range suppression set to 200nm and visibility set to around 60nm. Any ideas what might be causing this as it is irritating to see such sudden changes in weather! Thanks,Kev

hello everybody,I have had some issues with Fs-X lately so I reinstalled it.After the installation, I made sure that the folders are shared (checked by opening the files on my client pc),I also made sure that simconnect is configured correctly and I checked it.When I start Fs-X on the server-pc and Active X on the client laptop, I receive a message "ASX connected".However, On the opening screen of asx, I also receive an error because asx-wx-info.dat cannot be found/accessed.Seems logical because I can't find such a file anywhere. Not on the client laptop, not on the main pc...I guess that the missing file is the cause of Fs-X not showing any weather. Whatever the downloade…

I installed active sky 6.5 and got the error message: "Error accessing internal components (Unencrypt step 4-.) Please run the 'Repair' option via the ASv6setup.exe to replace required files. Now times and again I have run the repair option, rather I have re-installed the whole program but the problem remains. What could be the cause and its solution?

Hello Active Sky teamI've been using Activesky 6.5 for quite awhile now and I really enjoy it. I would like to make a suggestion for Active Sky and FS9. I made this suggestion a few years ago under the name cb74, but I think we misunderstood each other a little.FS9 has always fallen short when it comes to depicting overcast situations IMHO. I was wondering if you would be able to add an option to use visibility in addition to the overcast enhancement to better simulate flying within an overcast layer. If Active Sky could tell when your aircraft is within the vertical limits of its generated overcast layer it could reduce the visibility to 1/16th mile until you emerge …

Flying just towards Miami. I have with FSX station KCTY with W144/44 @FL340. My friend with FS9 same station but W036/37 @FL340.FS9 winds looks more correct according to real life charts.Maybe you can check if something wrong with FSX data.Thanks.

Hi everybody,I'm a happy user of AS6.5 build 533 with FS2004. I really love the program but there is one thing I'm looking for help with. I don't know if its an issue with AS Graphics or my video card. The issue I have is the way lighting is rendered in instrument conditions...I choose to fly into an area/airport that is very low or zero visibility. Often, when I land, the reflection of my landing lights or taxi light against the fog, for example is such that I cannot see the ground properly with the light on, but I can't see the taxiways/runway at all with the landing light or taxi light off. Similarly, when flying through clouds at night, the lighting of the cloud h…

Hi, I have ASA ( as well as REX ) I have a problem with the visibilty and haze. For example, just now, i used real world weather for a flight from KLSC, Utah. The map showed cloud over the area, but not too much, and the first layer at 11,000 ft, (stratus). I have ticked all 3 boxes in the visibilty options screen, Ie, disable haze, smoothing and fog option. This is what i got however: Which, I am sure you agree, looks pretty crap. One of my main reasons for getting ASA was I heard you get rid of the annoying haze effect in FSX. I am very keen to have some kind of realistic visibility restriction, but do not want some kind of blanket haze over everything you look at, incl…

ASA in FS9. Atis indicates 1/2 mile viz and 100 overcast. After the weather loads, sitting at the airport and takeoff depicts this. However, after a few hundred feet and sometimes within the airport itself, the weather begins to clear. If I made a U-turn shortly after t/o and headed back, I can see the airport fine with the same report. After landing the weather will then change to the correct report. Is there a way to stop this improving/clearing weather at least in the local areas? This happens at every airport. Michael

I did a complete reinstall and started fresh with ASA, and rebuilt my fsx.cfg file. Never been happier! Last weekend was a fun weekend of flying! Just wanted to say thanks for your work and hope to see the upgrade released soon.I felt so bad about bashing the product and all the issues I had that I went ahead and bought the full version of asa even thought i bought the upgrade many months ago when it first came outAlex

I purchased AS several years ago, and last spring upgraded to ASX. After a hard disk crash this fall, I did not reinstall AS 6.5, only ASX. But now I'm wishing I had the old Wx Finder. Yes, I know I could get that with ASA, but I don't have ASA. Query: if I install AS 6.5 now, will it interfere with my already-installed ASX?Thanks in advance...

Hi all,I went back to the normal use of ASA (I disabled DWC) and noticed that winds aloft are sometimes missing. During climb I had ASA reporting winds up to 60 kts. But there was none. 0. Took off with 8 knots, increased a bit, then went down. Then after about 20 minutes in cruise boom, 62 knots. How is that possible? Winds aloft are, of course, not disabled in the options. :)Fede

I had to do a complete reinstall of everything from Vista on down. When I got to reinstalling the FS things, I installed FSX, then FS9.1 (I still use both), then X-Graphics, ActiveSky X, and then ASA upgrade. the problem is that when I start ASA, I am no longer given the choice of which flight simulator I want to use. It automatically goes into FSX mode. How can I get ASA to give me the choice of which flight simulator I wish to use.

Hi,this is a small bug, but for realism's purpose it should have to be corrected. With DWC on, the wind smoothing is usually ok (except those times when it starts shifting abruptly), but this is a problem when approaching the ground. If the wind direction is quite different from ground to 3000 for example, I first touch the ground then after a few seconds the wind is stablized correctly. This is because it takes too much time. My opinion is to take a shorter time range to change wind direction and speed below 3000 feet (for example), as this would be good for windshear depiction. Now, if the wind at 3000 is 200/15 and ground reports 040/7, I'll land with a wind of about …

I've noticed this alert/call, whatever a couple of times. Can you tell me what it means please, Damian? It causes a significant frame hit. I have discontinued using "Keep ASG Open during auto-submit..." and that seems to have helped. Or is it my imagination?Ron McLeod_CYEGhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpg
