Hi all..I have just purchased and installed ASX and have a few questions.1. Startup.. is it as simple as just loading a plan in the briefing section, and then loading FSX through ASX, and then the weather follows my route?2. Exacly what is X Graphics and what does it do? SHould it have come with the ASX disk -- if so it didn't install.. how to remedy?Thanks in advance. Probably stupid questions, but I am unsure about the above.Bob

Hi.I have been using ASV 6.5 for a few years now, and wondered what the next step is program wise for me to use in FS9.1.I generally use Flight Environment for the clouds, and GE Pro for the ground textures and of course ASV for the weather setting.So, I was wondering what the next program up would be for me using FS9.1, is it ASX ?Many thanks.

I know that this has all been brought up before but even after SP1, ASA is not depicting the weather right. The Metar say's clear there are clouds. It says it's overcast there are no clouds. Also when I quite a flight and start another the weather never loads right. I have to shut down ASA or FS9. Any and all help would be great. I have done some things that have been suggested like DWC clicked off and some other things but I just want it to work as well as 6.5. One thing i love is the layers of clouds it does produce. I just want to produce the real weather.

I have tried searching and there is so much to sift through. Quick question... If I want to run AS6.5 on FSX across a network do I need WideFS? If I want to run ASX on FSX across a network do I need WideFS? I have ASA now in a network configuration. I just am not happy with ASA... it won't update my destination wx and I have had a ton of depiction errors. I loved AS6.5 on FS9 so thought I would try it on FSX. Thanks, Eddie

Hi. I'm not entirely sure whether this is an ASV6.5 problem or not, but it certainly seems as though it is. Whilst Activesky is updating the weather, the speed on the Level-D 767 fluctuates about 20 knots, flickering on the speedtape. As soon as the update is complete and the weather has been updated, just as the green bar appears in FSX, it stops. I tried searching the forum to see if there was something similar reported before, but couldn't find anything. Many thanks.

So, I'm trying to figure out how to successfully use the two products together to get a consistent (and awesome) results. I have two questions...1. When using the snapshot functionality, what textures get swapped? All of them or just the weather related? How about water, lights, concrete, etc?2. Can anyone recommend some REX themes/settings to get the most realistic results? I'm currently getting the cartoon clouds, and I have to believe there are one or two simple changes that can make it perfect.Thanks!

I just downloaded sp1 and have a problem with the visibility changing at cruise levels. I am using fs9. It seems that the haze layer is going from unlimited down to about 10 nm than it goes back out to unlimited.thanksanthony

Hi Jim and everyone, after some flights with the new build, (I'm on FSX) I am quite satisfied about the DWC, well done. The "prevent cloud redraws" option seems working good now, no more clouds when CAVOK or no clouds are reported (both values at 0 in settings). I still have a small bug with temperatures, instead of decreasing "linearly" with altitude, they change suddenly. At FL 90 I have +8, for example, it stays at +8 until FL120 when it drops to 0, then again and again until cruise. Same when descending. It seems it keeps the value listed on the "report" screen in ASA at the altitude specified until the next one kicks in suddenly. It should be smoother. That's what …

Hi, I have recently re installed FSX and ASA. Despite having the software for a litle while, i have not really got to grips with it or used it much. The supplied manual is very in depth , but lacks an idiot proof guide. Explaining in depth the function of all the buttons is good, but we ( I !! ) could also do with a kind of "walkthrough" on how to use and in what combinations and order to achieve differnt results. Jim,Sorry if this has been asked/answered before...I couldn't find a reference for it after searching.Is there a way to change the amount of time the description "bar" stays open when you mouseover a setting in the Options menus? Some of them close before I actually finish reading them. Then sometimes they won't even open up again when I mouseover them again. Using ASA SP1 with FSX Acceleration on Vista 64 Ultimate.Rick

Hi,First of all: thanks for service pack one! As for me, I have definately seen improvement in ASA's performance. However, there is one thing that bugs me (and I don't know whether the problem already existed before SP1 or not): whenever I edit the wind direction of surface winds in the WX Config tab, ASA would delete all my winds aloft. I try to just configure the surface winds so that I know my AFCADs and AI Traffic will work properly, but I intend to leave the winds at higher altitudes exactly as they were. I have just installed the ASA SP1 update to my remote computer using WideFS. Prior to installing the update I had ASA running fine with both FS9 and FSX. Connecting the updated ASA to FSX is no problem but connecting to FS9 via WideFS produces the error message 'Database Write/Corruption Problem - Your station database files could not be updated' when I click on OK the program shuts down.Glen

I have FSX and ASA installed on separate computers connected in a network. Do I need WIDEFS7 to make this work?If not how to solve this problem?
