Hi!I am a satisfied user of ASA almost a year and never had a problem with it until today...I have launched ASA, it asks me to choose FS version (I have unmarked it in options since I use only FSX), I choose, hit OK. Then I recieve Windows message 'ASA has stopped working'. I uninstall the software via Revo Uninstaller, reboot the PC, launch the installer, enter the serial, FS version and again the same...I think one of the files/reg entries are corrupted - Revo and ASA uninstall option couldn't delete it.Any help will be much appreciated, since flying without ASA sucks!EDIT: Deleting C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\HiFi\ASA and reinstalling solved the problem. As f…

Hello. I believe this is my first time posting on here. I'm still using ActiveSky 6.5 for FS9 and I've been having trouble trying to depict solid IMC conditions. I always create a flight plan and load the plan in ActiveSky. For some reason, I can NEVER get a good, solid overcast condition. Nor am I able to actually fly "through" the clouds. It always seems that no matter where I am in a descent to a cloud deck, I never actually descend into it, into a white out. The clouds are always just below, or just in front of the airplane. I want to be able to fly into the cloud layers. I want to be able fly in solid IMC without having to set the visibility low. Sometimes,…

Grettings. I've been using ASV 6.5 for my ole' good FS9.1 and have tried to fly today as I usually do during the weekends. This time, however, I've found a surprise while I was climbing out of Oakland to Portland. I saw the AI planes' at very low height, they kind of 'froze' on the air, and my own plane started to behave extremely weird, displaying both 'overspeed' and 'stall' messages immediately. Startled, I went to another airport, investigated and found the exact same problem. I used MRAI's viewer to 'climb' to some AI planes and found the IAS was extremely high (1000-1200) and the real airspeed was only 13 or 14.I tried disconnecting and clearing the weather via FSUI…

Hi Jim and everyone,ASA is doing a great job now that I have found all the correct settings :) It's now autumn, and fog/mist have started to appear, but I can't understand if what I see it's what should be. First: fog layer option checked and disable haze layer checked. Last night I was at about 5000 feet, VMC, below me nothing but the ground and sea. It seemed a perfect day for VFR. Then I descended to land, and all of a sudden it was 1/4 mile visibility, so I climbed again, VMC, totally. Descended...no, pure IMC. So, it seems that the haze layer was really disabled, as I couldn't see that "milky" layer below me, but I didn't see the fog layer. I assume it should be kind…

I ask this question because it is related to my flight. I use Concorde to flight EGLL-KJFK and return trip in FS2004 for about 2 years, Concorde is very sensitivity to the temperature and have a restriction of max operation temperature (TMO). I have to pay attention to the OAT during the flight. From my usage of Active sky Series(AS6.5 and ASA. ASX for FSX), I think the temperature is modeled by "decreased with altitude". At the beginning of this year I change my FS9 AS version from 6.5 to ASA, then the high reading of temperature happened since then. I took a reading about Earth's atmosphere on Wiki, so I think for most of the flight, we should have the a decrease readin…

I swear I read through it when I first bought AS, but now for the life of me I can't find it. I looked on the HiFi website under support, and I see manuals for ASA and ASX, but not ASv6.5. Can't find it in any of my directories either.

Yesterday there were some quite heavy rain storms in the SFO area, perfect stuff for instrument rating practice, and as in most cases when there's a storm in that area the winds favored the runways 19L/19R. I ran ASA and in the "historical" section opted for one download line in the historical static configuration. The zulu time was 1500. on October 13, 2009. The METAR on my avitaion site indicated "KSFO 131456Z 14017G25KT 1 1/2SM +RA BR FEW015 BKN026 OVC032 15/14 A2947", perfect. When everything launched I went to the "Map" page in ASA, and sure enough the weather was very close to the above metar. But when on short approach to 19R, while in similar weather to that abo…

Guys,I used your recovery of password to try and get back into my account and it sent me an email to my account email, but when I try an type it in, it tells me that it doesn't recognize me or my user name. I tried to recover it again, using the same email, and now it tells me it doesn't recognize my email that it originally did.Not a big deal, but I want to purchase the ASA upgrade (from ASX) and don't want to establish a new account if I don't have to.Outside of the username and password the email gave me, it said I was account type "C". Not sure what that means. The original email was [email protected] and the username was cmfisher4.Thanks,Chris

I remember, a long time ago, you guys had a preview of "upcoming titles" on your web page, which you subsequently pulled down due to competition concerns. One thing that was on there was a flight planner. This is one area that I think is seriously in need of a good FSX refresh and was curious if you guys still had intentions with regard to making one. Thanks,Chris

Still trying to figure out all the workings of AS and ASG. Can someone please tell me if my understandings of the workings are correct, by saying whether the following statements are true or false:1) If I don't open ASG, and the auto-submit graphics option is unchecked, FS will use default FS cloud graphics2) If I don't open ASG, but I do check off auto-submit and have sky theme and cirrus themes set to random, FS will use random ASG cloud graphics.3) If I do open ASG pick a theme and "send to FS9", and I have auto-submit checked off with sky and cirrus themes set to random, FS will use what I sent from ASG, not random.

When im flying, i occasionally experience a net loss of frames for a couple of minutes then it goes back to normal..it does that every 5-10 mins or so....I thought it was downloading and refreshing weather but ive set the download interval to 20 mins so that cant be it. Any help appreciated. I have disabled 'Force high priority process'. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hi, I have a bunch of Addon Scenery for Southwest Western Australia that adds a lot of smaller aiports and bush airfields, but these do not show up in ASA Map and also when trying to set the FlightPlan to these ICAO codes, it says they dont exist.. I see lots of addons like FSMap has a rebuild scenery function, is that what I need to do with ASA?While I am here, a query on the METARS.. From the forum I assume that that data is downloaded from NOAA or similar, again in West Australia this will get Perth Metar OK, but everything else is Advanced Interpolation, But... going through the Australian (http://www.airservicesaustralia.com/brief/locnbrf.asp) the Metars are avai…

Being new to HiFi, I've apparently messed with too many settings in ASA because there is no longer any control over (or more correctly the ability to reduce) the upper visibility. Also the barometer seems to be at 29.92 on the runway -- I mean it could be, but usually it's different? yes? The main issue is that I'm trying to LIMIT upper visibility, since having Cloud Draw Distance (CDD) in FSX set to 60 or 70 mi, the clouds abruptly STOP at that range, leaving empty air beyond. So how can one reset all of ASA settings, and then proceed to limit upper VISIBILITY to something like 40 mi, thereby REDUCING the downloaded VIS? This is what I refer to as `visibility mitigation

Hi Jim,I have just found a strange problem.I am flying out of ESPG (Gothenburg) and the wind in the current METAR is being given as 25020G30KT.This is clearly shown on the METAR line at the bottom of the REPORT screen. However, above this the actual wind being depicted by ASA is CALM.So, I have no wind today. I shut down ASA, restarted it, but still, the metar says gales, but ASA says 0?

Hi Guys,I'm rebuilding my system after a rather nasty virus infection and have a copy of Windows XP Pro 64Bit and was wondering if your products work seamlessly on a 64bit platform? There are only a few add-ons in my repertoire that I consider essential and ASA is one of them so if there are issues with it running on XP Pro 64 then I'll revert back to the tried and true 32bit.Thanks very much!Mike A
